  1. It sounds like you did everything you could. Hope the kid gets the help/situation he needs.
  2. So, this uninspired, lazy, backbiting, excuse for an NHL team is going to skate into a raucous Belle Centre tonight and hope for a win? Like wood into a woodchipper.
  3. God, we really are a beaten down bunch. "Thank you Sabres!"
  4. I have to put in a word for the 95-96 team. I loved that year. Yeah, we were no where near a good team, but after years of watching soft play I loved the fact that if they couldn't beat you on the scoreboard they'd beat you with their fists. Ray, May, Barnaby, Boughner, Hughes, Muni. They'd smack you in the face if they sensed the slightest transgression. Refreshing.
  5. The fans, Miller, Ott, Kaleta.
  6. I just love the way this team plays. Every inch of ice is contested. Keep rolling boys. Doo doo da doo :)
  7. Ay! That hurts to watch. Here's hoping he's ok.
  8. God the Hawks play such smart hockey. Late in the 3rd Shaw was being chased around his own net. he backhanded the puck to his D man, and the D,seeing that Shaw's forechecker had peeled off, promptly returned the pass on the wall by the faceoff circle and Shaw broke out of the zone with speed. A quality scoring chance resulted. They are a blast to watch.
  9. Gotta have one of these :)
  10. The TSN call is my favorite: Oh! Look out Campbell!"....Color guy: "look out...look out" Lol.

    How bad is it?

I went with the Nuclear option but after some thought. It comes down to the fact that when your team is so totally bankrupt of character and heart, it's time to drop the bomb and start again. While some true talent is on the roster they have some major holes. Reminds me of the Bills in some respects. A huge void exists down the middle and a D that on some nights can't execute the most basic of plays. Forwards who have no concept of effort and couldn't backcheck to save their paychecks. The only saving grace is Miller. So, yes. Blow it up and start again.
  12. +1000 I cant even imagine how much worse this season would be without Miller. He has zero support. Our D are like pylons. Want to bang and crash them with impunity? No problem. Like a few feet of ice in the crease to pounce on a rebound? We can do that for ya. Want to freewheel around our zone making a 5 on 5 look like a 5 on 3? We got ya covered. Like to play against a team that doesn't backcheck? You got it. It's sad but this organization is wasting Miller's career.
  13. Oh, VM I totally agree about Boomer and Carton. Just awful. But listen to Steve Somers or (and people love/hate him) Mike Francessa. Smart, witty, intelligent radio that gives credit to the listener. Or Gary Radnich on KNBR. I'll take the rotating overnight guys on WFAN (Tony Paige/ Mark Malusis) over anyone on GR anytime.
  14. No disrespect intended but you are out of your mind. Ever listen to KNBR or WFAN or WSCR? Those stations are light years ahead of GR. This station is horrible from top to bottom. First off, the whole sound of the station is bad. The updates are incomplete and sound terrible. The morning show? What a joke. Howard "Golly gee, I'm upset today" Simon has gotten so old it's laughable. The less said about his sidekick the better. The whinerline? Please. Sylvester has been a hack since his BEN days and clearly nothing has changed. That leaves the afternoon show. How Bulldog still has a career is totally, totally amazing. He contributes nothing but the most obvious takes. Schoop is beyond annoying. Talk about mailing it in. His arguments are poorly thought out and he lacks conviction. Making this mess even harder to listen to is the so called "comedic" input by Greg. Hey Greg, for once and for all, you are not funny. Not in the least. I like Murph but I wish the Bills didn't have to pay him. GR reminds me of the idiot you work with that keeps getting promoted while everyone else shakes their heads. Glad I stopped listening some time back. The station sucks.
  15. Sylvester is the perfect fit for the Sabres and WGR. Decades of mediocrity. Both are like a dull headache that won't go away.
  16. Wow..i guess im in the minority. I think PH is awful. Dan Dunleavy from the fan590 did a few games years ago and was awesome. Get well soon Rick.
  17. She's a "Tappen" haha
  18. If you/they're still there be cool but drop a comment about how the fans are disgusted by both sides.

    NHL 13

lolololololol The Seabrook check is priceless. Taking out the trash!
  20. I'm not a Sylvester fan on the radio. He was an ok TV host (Duffy is the gold standard as far as I'm concerned) but this takes trainwreck radio into a new realm. I agree w/ the poster that said to can this show until the CBA is settled. The funny thing is, it fits perfect on GR. Bad show. Bad station.
  21. The North Star in SF is an excellent place.....nice location in North Beach (great girl-watching, but then again, what part of NorCal isn't?)...has Blue on ice...(a little stale though)...staff grills dogs outside....Watched the Bills lose a heartbreaker on MNF against the Browns there, and then dropped by when I was in SF last year for the NLCS....great bar...great city....God bless the Bay!!! And, they have a real sportstalk station (unlike here in Buffalo in KNBR...Gary Randich is awesome
