We're on the road to nowhere...

Lehner needs to dial back his aggressiveness when guys like Burrows get under his skin. Burrows has made a career of this type of thing and frankly is making Lehner look the fool. If we go into a playoff series with Lehner he will lose us games because he can't control his emotions.

They won a game they needed to win. Great first period. Weathered the storm the rest of the way. Lehner was solid. Priceless. That's entertainment.

I am a glutton for punishment. I must be. Most of us are. The last 10 years has been hard. The only dirt on my Sabres hats is closet dust but I do have a thick skin and usually get past the constant ribbing from friends and relatives about my allegiance to this team by ignoring the obvious that ( they mostly suck ) and keep my mind on the big picture. Is it insanity that leads us here ? We believe that one day they will be good but is there any truth in that statement ? I live in the moment but this team always makes me think of the future. Its probably not healthy. Fans of the successful teams always seem to enjoy the good times now. In the moment. Why not the Sabres ? This team sucked me in at the age of 10 and I haven't been able to shake it. So I have been a follower of the sabres for 42 years now. The good times smooth out the bad times for me but the balance is weighted more to the dark side than the side of light. Hopefully things come around soon because the losing doesn't seem to cause as much discomfort as it used to. That isn't a good sign for myself or the franchise. They shouldn't want to lose fans like me who they've held onto for a lifetime. But yeah, I do like following this damn team.

Trim the fat

Fell asleep when it was 2-1 ( as did the Sabres apparently ) and woke up to a 4-1 score. First time I've nodded off watching a game this year. Unbelievable its taken this long for them to put me to sleep. Ducks had something like 62 shot attempts to the Sabres 32. All too often during the parts I was awake for they passed up a chance at a shot on net to try and get fancy. Not sure if this is part of DDs gameplan or not. That Ducks team is deep on D and has lots 'o' grit. And as we alluded to before is heavy on the douche factor which I think helps teams win. Anyways the Leafs Sat. and the Nucks Sun. Good luck boys. You'll need it.

I swear sometimes it looks like these guys are playing hot potato out there. Its like no one wants possession of the puck.

You're right Dark. I especially hate when coach has said pregame we have to be very careful against these guys. Its teaching them to be reactionary instead of going out and dictating play. We've seen what they are capable of if they play guns ablazing. They can win. I like team defence as much as the next guy but someday I hope we're in the other teams head.
