On sport talk radio 1040 out of Vancouver this a.m. they were lamenting how they would have to put up with Edmonton/Toronto duking it out for the cup for the next 10 years. Cue the sound of crickets... Not a word of Buffalo crossed their lips. Thats the perception pretty much this side of the border. Not much talk of Eichel when discussing the other top picks of the last couple years. Not much talk of the sabres at all actually. Until this franchise gets serious about winning we're not even in the conversation.

Listen I hate the leafs as much as anyone but they are fun to watch in these playoffs. Their rebuild is gaining experience in the postseason and they're ahead in finding a way to get into the postseason. Something we have yet to manage and in reality we might not be there next season either depending on how the chips fall. Their coach has them playing a style where they dictate play and never seem to let up in attacking the net. Our coach...yeah. Not too much. I'm really not sure how anyone can think we're somehow ahead.

The only difference in Kassians game is he gets away with liberties in the playoffs whereas in the humdrum regular season they make those calls. Regular season the oil would be killing penalties every time Kassian took a shift playing like that.

Completely agree With you. Same for me. And for other players they need more coddling. Some need to be barked at and some need more of a stroking. Thats the problem with DD. He apparently doesn't know how to or want to forge relationships with his players. Every player is different and they should all be coached or mentored in a way that gets the best out of them. Not sure DD is capable of that from GMTMs presser. If not the quicker he's kicked to the curb the better. This is about developing and nurturing your players more than anything. Making them better people and better players. Good coaches do that.
