I'm with you on Sam as well. He obviously has NHL pedigree what with his dad , brothers etc. but with that comes a certain amount of entitlement also. Things come a little bit easier in many ways for hockey brats in that they get the best of everything when it comes to the sport. He comes across as someone that has talent but maybe didn't have to work for it. There's some sort of disconnect there when I watch him. I wish I was wrong but nothing he's done to date makes me think he'll ever be much more than what we're seeing now. Even if he ups his play to the point he was at his peak in the NHL is it enough ?

Sure Rob Ray they may be winning the odd battle in the Flyers zone but does it lead to any scoring chances ? Not much.

Lol. I was just going to say it was apparent at 15 games that things were not good. But half a season is more than enough time for evaluations. Some teams use preseason and camp for that and then get to work.

House started the season with what a 10 ? player overhaul from what Bylsma had dealt with ? That being said he needs time. That also doesn't excuse some of the things that raise questions about Phil as a coach. I like him but in hindsight an experienced coach may have had a little more success with this group.

Scoring 5 on 5 is dreadful but is there any conceivable reason our power play has gone from first to worst with the same guys we had last season manning it ? My answer is coaching. Whether its Housley as head coach or the fact they let the guy go that was running it it still comes down to coaching.
