These bottom 6 guys are what they are. None of them except Okposo have ever been expected to produce offence and Okposo only ever did it while with the Islanders. Frankly getting any offence out of any of these guys is a bonus when it does happen. E-Rod=fringe, Vessey=Meh, Okposo=DLD(done like dinner),Larson=defence, Girgs=defence . Until JBots upgrades the 2nd line the 3rd will continue to suck and so on. So its a waiting game. Sucks to be us.

I seem to remember Ralph saying something to the effect that we’re not going to confuse these guys with too much structure we’re going to let their genius ( that was his word ) and hockey instinct take over. Imo when you are playing a team that has structure and has been playing those structured systems for a number of years pitting a team of players who’s only structure has been losing and saying we’re going to let these mostly young guys fly by the wire and figure it out as they go, I’m not sure that will work. With real experienced players maybe. I think this may be a weakness of Ralphs plan.

Yeah I picked that photo off facebook and it was a meme/joke going round. They are actual broadcasters and they are good. I’ve seen them interviewed and they are diehard hockey guys. Good for them.

This would at least be inclusive . These guys actually do Canucks broadcasts out of Vancouver.

The new coaches corner

Don failed to acknowledge that we are basically a country of immigrants which may have placated the snowflakes. Poor choice of words on his part because as you said in the small sample size that I witnessed today there were people of all stripes either wearing or not wearing the poppy. Its their choice and none of our business. Don finally succumbed to his opinions. I suppose he shouldn’t have done it on someone else’s dime.

Don has always been a champion of and supporter of veterans and of those that paid the ultimate sacrifice. Good on ya Don. What you said may have offended some but it wasn’t wrong.

People have thin skins. Many are upset and they’re not sure why . The media loves to divide. And there’s nothing wrong with asking people to respect the people who payed the ultimate sacrifice so we could have the freedom to have an opinion among other things. This morning I went to Tim Hortons. Half the people not wearing poppies were white. I suppose they could have been immigrants ? I’m sure some were born and raised here. Who cares ? I won’t even get into the people that were any of about 20 different shades of non white for fear of offending anyone. Regardless many were wearing poppies and some weren’t. Its really none of my business.Thats the beauty of freedom.

I’m not most people. I want more talent sure but i want talent that can win battles. I’m tired of watching our guys get moved off pucks . Its maddening when theres a cheap shot and our only response is to complain to the official. Look at the teams that are in every conversation come playoff time. They have one thing in common. They go to war for each other. Like someone else said like a pack of dogs.

There’s a big difference between gooning it up and playing tough and winning battles. But you know that.

At least in regards to the Sabres There are times within the game where effort disappears for mere moments and we get scored on. This team appears to be going hard but there are let downs and we are scored on. There are plays by our best players where they stop thinking momentarily and we get scored on( I’m looking at you Dahlin )so yes there are effort problems and there are brainfarts. And to be fair there are cases of the other team just being good at their jobs and we get scored on.

No. I think like all teams you always look to get better. It looks to me like theres always room for improvement with the likes of Erod, sheary, Vessey Sobotka etc on the team. Not to mention Okposo. 6 mil for a 4th liner.

No its not the same thing. But we have seen teams relatively change their teams over one or two offseasons. We did the full teardown so its different but everytime we change gms they come in and talk about a 5 year timeframe. We’re treading water here and winning never seems to get any closer. I don’t see the playoffs this year. Unless Jbots has one or two more miracle trades up his sleeve.

This global series kind of backfired on the sabres. 0 points out of a possible 4 so nothing worthwhile came of this aside for the feel good buzz leading up to it. Nice for our Swedish players I get that but the costs associated with the condensed schedule will be felt now and later in the year when these guys will hopefully be fighting for a playoff spot. It just doesn’t pay off in any tangible benefits for this team. It may even set us back. I voted no. Let our division rivals have it.
