What makes this a fantastic Friday? Watching the Leaf fans reaction to MacArthur's miss last night. Watching Cuse win. That cute kid singing the anthem....and it's Friday. I always come here for a Friday pick me up and the last post was at 7:59 am? Just looking for positives!

I focused as much as I could on Stafford last night. And he is Connelly. His lack of hustle had me furious. I've never played on a professional team, but even in a pick up soccer game my overweight friends play harder. My favorite players are the ones with marginal talent that play every shift like it might be their last (think Mair, Ellis, Kaleta), and even better those that have talent that play that way (Ott, Crosby (a joy to watch if you like hustle even though I want to hate him) and my least favorite are the ones that have all the talent in the world and just float around. There are plenty, but Connelly and Stafford are good reps. One guy like that is a cancer. We have a few.

I am guessin the booing is just from the feeling of haplissness we are all in. I wouldn t boo, but I wouldn t discourage anyone who paid good money to watch this circus. I find myself wearing less and less Sabres gear, as I just don't see much hope. When you wear gear, people who know im a fan ask whats wrong and that story is too long to tell. ugh.

Exactly. My mom was a huge sports fan. She loved the Bills and the Sabres and the game was alway on. She hung flags out in front of here house, and my friends would always stop at her house on the way to a Bills Game to use her bathroom and share a cup of coffee. I'd buy her a ticket for Mothers day and take her every fall. I think she distanced herself a bit as her health declined, but she died sometime at her house after the Bills lost another game to Miami in 2010, TV on in her house for my poor BIL to discover. In my dreams she kicks Ralph Wilson right in the shins in the afterlife, but that's just how I've leaned to deal. I'm 51 and I often wonder if this is my sports destiny. I'm getting to the point I care less and less.

I just want to thank all the posters here. I'm on the road for work out west and missed the game. Reading this thread tonight saved me two hours and was more entertaining than most games lately. Laughing to myself at the bar of an Applebies outside of Vegas.

I so wanted Lindy to win a cup in Buffalo. I will miss his pressers. Good Luck Lindy. Go Sabres.

Dr and LF gone and a good draft in a meaningless season. wow, a reason for hope! I have learned to be amused by the Bills ineptness.I guess I need to expect it from all teams Buffalo.

great watching sabre fan rubbing geeky toronto fans head after goal. My son and I were cracking up. -
I know a couple people who work there. Bad visual. Unfortunately, you can't even un-see your imagination. As for my complaint, drivers approaching a four way intersection to my right who short cut the left hand turn and take up some of my lane as I approach the intersection. I had to slam on my brakes, because they were to lazy to turn the wheel a bit more, or were holding coffee, a cell phone, putting on make-up, etc. If my car wasn't small, I'd love to end their arrogance. Wow, that feels better.

I am very excited about all the news about the developement down at the F'N center. But for some reason all I feel is hate for absentee Ralph Wilson. I might need some counseling.

This. A couple of my wifes friends and her recentely went out for a celebration of one of their birthdays. I stopped in (yes I was invited) to buy them a round and 4 of 6 were head down on their Fing iphones. My wife wasn't one of them as she leaves hers in the car. Unbelievable. I have a Razr Max, but work hard to not be "that guy". If you dragged your family photo album around, and made people look at it, you'd be very unpopular. This is the new version of that. Put it away, it can wait. I applaud my father, who after witnessing his grandchildren texting this past thanksgiving while ignoring each other, collected all the kids phones and said they could have them back when they left. It was awesome. The kids played football and claimed it was the best bird day they ever had.

Farmersonly.com I'm not sure if this should go here or if it should wait for F'N fantastic fridays as it both sucks and is funnier than anything run on SNL in quite some time. Are hockey fans really the target audience? My wife dropped into the basement workshop last night and caught this ad during Rangers/ Devils, and I had no explanation for her raised eyebrow.

We had a Pontiac Grand Safari wagon when I was growing up. Freaking awesome.

Hey Shrader, I'm very sorry. My mom was a teacher and when she passed a year and a half ago, it was a note like yours from one of her students that I cherish most. She loved her students and she was an awesome mom, but when she was gone it was so final it seemed. It was notes afterwords like yours that were so comforting. they said in essense that the lessons each student learned meant so much that in spirit she lived on. Don't fail to communicate to the family your feelings . It really means a lot. Take Care, Steve

Amen to that. Apparently, there is no cost to supplying samples to non-buying customers.

I rarely post here, but read often. Always puts me in a great Friday mood. But a post like this deserves special merit. Dude, you got the monkey off your back (a decent sized one at 132). Having been around overweight people, I know this isn't easy. Congradulations and good luck with your marathon. I'm really happy for you. Take Care, Steve
