Just joined. Ducks over Caps. Largely because I think it would be hilarious for the Ducks to win it this year after the wailing and gnashing of teeth early on. And they could very well do it.
-
Alas, screened on. Also, no cats have been decapitated and no airplanes destroyed. Early in the season though...

The Mets are wearing 1986 throwback uniforms, and will every Sunday home game this year. This gets me right in the feeliest of the feels...

I'd argue that Clinton is in fact the sane, centrist Republican (viewed through the lens of history; not now, obviously) on her ticket. Bernie is making as much hay as he can with the young and the left, but it won't be enough.

I said "in this situation." :P I dislike OV intensely, have since he ran Briere from behind that time ten years ago. But only an idiot or, yes, an a$$hole would say out loud that the guy is anything other than phenomenal.
-
Going by nothing more than your testimony, I find it likely that you are not the a$$hole in this situation...

Didn't watch this one. Looks like that was a good decision. Currently staring longingly towards October on my nearest calendar...

Had the Lightning successfully lobbied the NHL to toll the contract it would have effectively added another year onto it, making him wait until 2018 to be an RFA. Instead, he's an RFA after next year.
-
I see what the confusion is. The Lightning tried to have the contract tolled, and the NHL said no. Rightly, IMHO. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/jonathan-drouin-will-burn-year-off-entry-level-contract/

He's played 19 games this year...
-
I don't think the ELC is the issue, it's accruing a full year of NHL service which makes him a UFA one year earlier.
-
Just read a tweet from Bob McKenzie stating he only needs to be on the roster for 2 games, whether he plays or not in order to have this year count. This ought to be interesting.

May went at 14, Tkachuk went at 19. It's alright, the Islanders took Scott Scissons, he of three NHL games, at six. Between Jagr and Darryl Sydor... Ouch.

Justin Bailey called up. Yay.

This is my annual howl into the wind that the NCAA is a metastasizing cancer upon America's higher education system and should be shut down with immediate effect, shortly followed by literally thousands of indictments for most involved. As you were.

Just played my first soccer game of spring-summer season. Playing on a new-ish team, half the guys have played together half not. Went about as well as you'd expect. Things got better in the second half once we learned everyone's names. 90 minutes at left back and I realize I should probably have been running a bit more (or indeed at all) this winter. To quote Danny Glover in Lethal weapon: "I'm too old for this..." Well, you know the end. Still, feels great to be back out there, no matter how badly I'm doing it.

Boston is being absolutely taken apart right now. 4-0, two goals in about 3 seconds* to start the second. Good. *not actually three seconds. Whoops, 5-0.

As has been mentioned, it's a solution to a rather non-existent problem with one real impact: potentially denying the vote to those who don't have and can't get ID. In my opinion, since photo ID costs money in every state I'm aware of, requiring it to vote amounts to an unconstitutional poll tax. It'll be interesting to see what happens when, as is inevitable, the courts get to have their say once people start suing. And the number of people without ID is surprisingly high, among the poor, black white or whatever. Wonder why a certain party doesn't want them voting...

I do remember Jarts. Actually got hit in the face with one 30 years ago at a party where the adults were all drunk and we were all unsupervised. Memories... I'm fine now, though.

So, like paintball softened up for millennials then?

I'd rather not revisit that unfortunate era. Didn't they start throwing mousetraps in Pittsburgh at one point? Kinda brought the shenanigans to a grinding halt. Man, that was 20 years ago... (stares off into the middle distance)

Dump doesn't even begin to cover it. But it was special. And frightening.

Just now watched the game. Fasching looked good, scored on his first shot. He's no Wayne Primeau, who, scored on his first shift. This may be a good thing, I'm kind of hoping October comes quickly, not gonna lie. Next year should be fun...

Soccer (Football) ~ Everything About The Beautiful Game

I mean, if it was in fact going to happen for Jozy Altidore, it would have happened five years ago... This program is a train wreck. -

Currently watching the USMNT abjectly embarrass themselves against Guatemala. Have I not been paying attention? I look at the players we're putting out there and despair for the future, both near and long-term. I mean, there's nobody better than Tim Howard right now? He can't even get in his club side. It's a mess. Clint Dempsey, one of the most obnoxious people on earth, comes out of this as a sympathetic character. At least he tries. I'm not even mad at Klinsman. Silk purses are not actually sown from sow's ears.
