I love Bryzgalov. I mean, wouldn't want him anywhere near my team, but boy howdy would he be fun to have a few adult beverages with...

You would probably be quite surprised at the number of DUI cases, Joe Schmoe on up, that end up going nowhere for various reasons. As long as you have the wherewithal not to blow, things get... complicated. DUI is the rare crime that people of means are every bit as likely to be charged with as everyone else. Hence, it's been litigated about a billion times. See the recent Supreme Court decision striking down criminal sanctions for refusal to submit to a blood draw. That's going to lead to a whole lot more search warrants at 2am on a Saturday... especially since about a quarter of the cases I've seen have involved something besides booze. Any defense attorney worth his salt, provided the facts aren't too egregious, can usually get something done. Not qualified to comment on why this particular case went as it did though...

Soccer (Football) ~ Everything About The Beautiful Game
Sabel79 replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
I've read that it's common practice in Spain to suspend any prison sentence under two years for a first offense. Still, shady. -
The focus need not be so firmly upon obtaining information with changes in technology. The critical issue is teaching kids, with the unlimited access they have to the sum of all human knowledge sitting side by side with the horrible cesspool that is most of the internet, is to be able to tell which is which. We're failing miserably in that task.

My five year old has had an ipad for a year. There are reading and math games/teaching apps aplenty. One of her favorite apps is NASA's Images, which is pretty awesome. I put a star finder on as well, she's super into it. Got her a telescope for her birthday this year. There is a lot of learning to be done with these things. There is also Spongebob... so I guess you give a little and get a little.

I assure you it has nothing to do with the best interest of the kids, and everything to do with the best interests of the Junior teams and AHL veterans.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-20317995 A basic timeline Another good read: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2016/02/24/why-the-clinton-email-scandal-and-petraeus-leak-are-not-really-alike/ Quote: "In the Petraeus case, there was no question as to whether the information he provided Broadwell was classified. Further, a recording of Petraeus’s interview with Broadwell showed he knowingly provided classified information."
-
What he was prosecuted for was much, much worse in terms of behavior and scope. He was bent over and he knew it, hence his graceful acceptance of the slap on the wrist. Pretty much.
-
If you think the Petraus case has anything to do with that of Hillary you're either unaware of the facts or willfully ignoring them to make a point in defiance of those facts.

He'd be a Group 2 RFA, can't be a UFA unless you've got 3 pro years in (and even then there's a cap on the number of games you can play). Which kind of makes his choice of team now a bigger deal.
-
At this point it's approaching "Food Group" status.

Played my last soccer game (of Spring Season) last night. Woke up this morning and have evidently done "something" to my knee. Considering seeking medical advice. I"m too old for this nonsense, and yet I'm having more fun with it than I have in years. Hopefully I can straighten it out in time for fall...

The fact that he stayed in school and is using the opportunity he now has to sign wherever he wants isn't a negative against him personally. He can do what he wants. All I'm trying to say is maybe don't be surprised when he finally does show up, wherever that may be, and isn't immediately a Hart Trophy candidate.

Eyebrow height notwithstanding, absent any actual evidence of tampering... There's no evidence of tampering.
-
um, okay. Not stepping any further into that imaginary minefield.
-
You guys keep talking about tampering as if there's a possibility it could be an issue after a team gives up assets (asset, whatever) to obtain a pending UFA's rights....
-
Just click on the loopy thing...
-
I just can't get excited about this one way or the other. He can be a UFA if he wants to. If he were truly the can't miss prospect a good percentage of this board seem to be convinced he is, well, his pro future would have been much clearer years ago. He might come into a team an do a job, might not. Could possibly be a star, not outside of theoretical possibility, but still....

Ullmark could very well carry the load if needed in an injury to Lehner situation. If GMTM didn't think that you'd have seen an above replacement level signing made for a backup.
-
Lehner comes down with so much as a hangnail we see Ullmark. It'll be alright.

It was crickets all night in general... Welp, I'm off to bed. Am I setting my alarm for 11:55 so I can watch all the madness unfold? Yup. There had best be some madness unfolding...

I'm genuinely curious, publicized shenanigans being a separate issue, has there been anything doing the rounds in Kane's time here that he's been a negative presence in the locker room? I can't think of anything, but may well be wrong.

Nah, working night shift (I work for the State, we'll leave it at that). it's fun.

It's about to be July 1, meaning the changes to the Code of Virginia made in the last legislative session take effect. What greeted me as I walked in the office this evening? Two gloriously large boxes of sweet, sweet Code Books. LAW BOOK DAY!!!!!!! I am such a nerd...
