  1. Eleven has the BEST marshmallow, you should see it. He keeps it in a HUUUUUUUUUUGE glass jar...
  2. I suppose fans can boo whoever they want. It's a bit much in this instance, since if he signs elsewhere he'd merely be one of the vast majority of all free agents in history who didn't sign in Buffalo for any number of reasons, most of which aren't a slap to the city or organization.
  3. They'll certainly get into good positions, but will never be able to get a shot away...
  4. "Las Vegas Fredo Corleones" would be apt at this point. They can wear tangerine and baby blue, with white skates and dark visors. I'd actually enjoy that...
  5. I should, perhaps, have found a less glib retelling of the original quote. I'm quite sure you appreciated the spirit in which it was offered without my having to resort to smiley face emoticons...
  6. Oh, Tucker Carlson... You shine on, you crazy diamond... Reagan's Would-Be Assassin Likely To Vote Democrat In November - The Daily Caller http://dailycaller.com/2016/08/10/reagans-would-be-assassin-likely-to-vote-democrat-in-november/
  7. Which is why I've found all the lusting after him, even prior to the trade and this thread, to be baffling. Certainly there are players closer to or indeed the finished article to be giving contracts and dollars (both of which are finite) to.
  8. … as J. M. Keynes used to put it, ‘the astonishing belief that the nastiest motives of the nastiest men somehow or other work for the best results in the best of all possible worlds’.
  9. As does mine. I'll see you inefficient loading and raise you a total refusal to unload it. If there are clean dishes in the dishwasher, my wife will hand wash whatever (one cup or dinner service for eight, doesn't matter) instead of unloading the dishwasher and putting the dirty ones in. If we ever get divorced this will be why...
  10. Add this to the gerrymandered safety of most congressional seats (absent primary challenges, of course) and you have the perfect environment for inertia.
  11. This is entirely the point. The Earth, no matter what we do, will be just fine. Eventually we'll wipe ourselves off it, and in a couple million years nobody will ever be able to tell we were here. Perhaps, just perhaps, we should want to do better for ourselves and each other. Oh, and won't somebody please think of the children?
  12. 1. Computer Assembler (taking parts out of boxes and jamming them together) 2. Electrical Tester in a ceramic capacitor factory 3. Streets Division menial laborer (every summer during college) 4. Beef Cutter in a well-known WNY beef-themed restaurant (for a month one summer, concurrent with 3 above) 5. Res. Life "Safety Monitor" at SBU (did more homework than monitoring anything) 6. Long-Term Substitute Teacher (never again) 7. Credit Union office manager (I consider this to be my first grown-up job)
  13. This reminds me of the single greatest filing in the history of our august Federal Courts: http://download.gannett.edgesuite.net/wtsp/pdfs/2015/f-this-court.pdf
  14. My ultraconservative, gun-hugging, extremely Christian boss hung his head this morning and almost whispered to me that he's going to have to vote for Clinton. Nearly vomited while doing so, but I highly doubt he's alone.
  15. Indeed. Heck, my five-year old got a dividend check for $0.51 for her one share of Disney stock last week. The first time it's paid out in her five years of life...
  16. Co-workers. Specifically, those who, having the exact same education and qualifications I do, apparently can't work a television. A work order was put in because the teleconference equipment was not working. No audio coming through. The monitor was muted. On our side. You could tell this was the case because of the large floating speaker with a Ghostbusters slash through it floating across the screen. This evidently prevented work from being done properly for two days. What in the actual ?
  17. I couldn't, in all honesty, discern what the actual take here was. "Evander Kane bad", I suppose, but why bother? Everybody gets that there's an issue there by now.
  18. Arizona looking to have as much dead cap space as mathematically possible.
  19. Yup. Holy F***. I think that this is the exact moment where I finally give in, put my tinfoil hat on and wait for Trump to pull his mask off, revealing that it's actually been Andy Kaufman this entire time...
  20. Myers was especially frustrating for me. A guy that size who skates that well... an absolute crime he hasn't put the whole package together. I suppose he still might, but I gather a good deal of his difficulty is of the mental type.
  21. He was asked a question, specifically about Russia and the Baltic states. Trump did what Trump does, and the result is as you've outlined. The loyal customers buy it like crazy, everyone else recoils in horror, and it's all about Trump. Replace the NATO comments with just about anything else he's said: Wall-building, Defaulting on the national debt, et. al., Are there issues upon which reasonable people can disagree and about which we need to be having constructive conversations? Absolutely. Trump's not about to go there. Instead of these issues, we're talking about the tire-fire.
  22. Which is entirely what Trump wants.
  23. Strom Thurmond won four states in the 1948 election. The Democrats of today wouldn't exist until LBJ. Do the math;
  24. Truman was a cynical vote grab of a VP, who was made to sit in the hallway and read the paper during cabinet meetings. Hillary runs laps around him in every available metric.
  25. Well, that de-escalated... Eventually...
