While in no way surprising (I have seen the social media output for the team), that's a bummer. Somebody should convince someone to have some fun with it, ,

#VeteransForKaepernick Is currently the #1 trending topic on Twitter in the US. An interesting read, as far as I went down the rabbit hole.

I'm with you on that specific point, but dank memes don't find themselves. Or am I thinking too hard about this? Clearly I am, since the Sabres seem to be aggressively indifferent.
-
Not that I don't believe you, but I find that hard to believe. They don't even get slave college intern labor? Wacky.

I'm fairly certain Biron was the last ever player allowed to wear either 0 or 00. And that was 22 years ago. The social media team likely wasn't born yet...

Wait, wait, wait. How is NOT eating in any way unamerican?

Per various sources: Raffi Torres to Carolina on a PTO. Ugh.

if it needs to be made to be great again, it is clearly not great now. You may well be correct regarding the logical contortions involved. Of course, Trump and his supporters are in no way responsible for the dystopian hellscape (as per Trump) that America has become. No one raindrop comprehends its own responsibility for the flood.

I find it humorous that a large percentage of those damning Kapernick for "disrespecting his country" are either wearing or supporting a presidential candidate wearing a red hat claiming America is not great.

I had an Almond Joy gelatto the other day; coconut gelatto with almonds and chocolate chunks. Outstanding.

Did that with a resume once. Must have submitted an old version instead of the updated one. Had no idea until the interview, when the guy interviewing me asked about the three year gap... Rather mortifying. Did not get that job.

Back in WNY for a few days. Brought the kiddo up to see Grandma before school starts. Anyway, Grandma, being a Grandma, still has cable. Tonight was my first delve into late night television in perhaps 7 years. Jimmy Kimmel's "Drunk Donald Trump" bit where he slows Trum down to half speed... Pure genius. It puts what comes out of his mouth in the correct context IMHO. I suppose it's on YouTube, I dunno. Just thought I'd share...

Do you think GMTM is done tinkering with the Sabres roster?

If you could light the $4.00 on fire and not have it negatively impact your life, well then, you do whatever you'd like with it, young man. -

And a mailing it in without a stamp performance from Dennis Hopper... -
If Bono had met some sort of unfortunate accident in 1991, U2 would be the basis for a major religion by now. Unfortunately things went all Spinal Tap.

Running, jumping, climbing trees.... Then makeup. I love Eddie Izzard. Anyway, the mad scramble for all and sundry to plant their flag firmly at the summit of this anthill is somewhat amusing to me. Not limiting this to this board/thread. If you read it on the Internet, and it makes you fly into a blind rage or righteous fury, please remember it's likely either not true or missing important context so as to be misleading. The kids on college campuses trying to make every flavor vanilla have always been there. One of the hallmarks of institutions of higher learning, actually,p; these kids meet others like them for the first time ever, there's a rush of blood to the head, and soon there's a protest with signs reading: "Down With This Sort of Thing!" and "Careful, now!" Displayed proudly for all to see. Then they grow up. Happens each and every year. Think about Obama's career arc....

If you aren't down with Ignignokt, I don't want to know you.

Off Topic Gord Downie has terminal brain cancer
Sabel79 replied to darksabre's topic in The Aud Club
I'll be at work tonight, don't trust myself to try and catch the live stream. Might have to answer some uncomfortable questions as to why I'm tearing up. All those who will be watching, enjoy. I may try and catch up to it later. Then again, I may just have to satisfy myself with the memories Gord and the boys have already supplied me with. -
Evander Kane arrested on misdemeanor charge for June nightclub incident

I would argue that RW is at least equally problematic. Okposo, Gionta, crickets... Edited to add: this should probably read Okposo, crickets, Gionta...but you get my meaning. -
Sportswriting, and journalism in general, has devolved over the past few years into clickwhoring nonsense. For the most part. I don't think the world really needs anyone to go all Woodward and Bernstein on the consensual shenanigans carried on in private at ESPN, but obviously enough people do. Every click represents income, and so it goes. Side note, what happened to Buzz Bissinger? Friday Night Lights was perhaps one of the bleakest, most existentially terrifying books I've ever read. I remember thinking that this was important, and people need to know. He sold it into a cutesy TV show representing the complete opposite of the message of the book, and it's gotten worse from there. Sigh.

Whoever had 3.5 seconds in the "how fast does this thread come back to the top after Vesey signs" pool wins. No payout if it was, in fact, Robin... -
Meh. It was still a better than average use of a third round pick.

Also, how is Hunter Pence a (very good) Major League player? He looks like an alien trying to figure out how to work the new human suit he peeled off an unsuspecting hobo... But it works somehow.

So Rob Manfred, MLB Commissioner, wants a pitch clock implemented. Along with several other trifling changes meant to "speed up the game." I'm sure I risk obtaining full dinosaur status when I share the following two observations. 1: . 2: You.
