I'll cite the Virginia (the one state in which I'm licensed to practice law) code section on the subject: http://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title18.2/chapter9/section18.2-423.1/

It's perfectly legal in all states to own a nazi flag. It's a crime to display it in certain circumstances in most states...

More using this thread as a non-Thursday complaint thread. Today while completely sober, I jumped into a pool with my phone in my pocket. I have to leave town for a work trip tomorrow. My wife can give me her phone and use her work issued one for a few days, but I need mine, and I have no time to fix this. Awesome.

It's a cash grab / publicity stunt. Bristol is half in Tenessee, half in Virginia. The venue enables them to make a claim for the largest US sporting event crowd or some nonsense. Blech.
-
ESPN will not be embarrassed, however, because they can not be compelled to care. They cater to a much different crowd, aiming for mediocrity at best (suffering no consequences when they crawl under that bar). The NHL is likely not coming back to them for the foreseeable future, which is probably for the best.

So this evidently happened today (I guess technically yesterday at this point). Before we begin having an argument about what Hillary said about half of Trump's supporters, read this a few times... new things keep popping up each time you go back over it. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/09/09/alt-right-leaders-we-aren-t-racist-we-just-hate-jews.html

And yet....

Johnson, Stein, and the parties they represent can all go themselves. In all seriousness, a vote for either of them is a vote for whoever actually wins. In what other situation or walk of life can someone earnestly say that even though I haven't done as much work as the other candidate for office, or a job, or whatever, as this other person I should be elected, or hired, or whatever? They bilk people out of money (not that the big two parties don't, but that's another matter entirely) to pop up every few years and point out that they are soooooo different from the big two candidates for president. I'm old enough to have (stupidly, in my youth) voted for Nader in that election. I thought it would have been an excercise in teaching the Democrats a lesson. Nope. There was no lesson to learn. I've come to realize this now. Actually, a while ago. If the Greens or Libertarians or any other party were serious, they'd be starting from the opposite end. Run people for mayor, Congress, dog catcher, whatever. They either don't or do so in numbers so small and in places so unlikely that they never register. The big two are what they are, others could well rise up, but they don't. Instead, they run "symbolic" campaigns and for some reason satisfy themselves with that. I'd love a third or more parties to make themselves relevant, but they actually have to make themselves relevant. do something. It's not entirely the fault of the big two that they dominate politics, we're all complicit; hence Trump. Rant over.

Okay, apparently it's their problem as well.

If you think this tournament is (or should be) anything more than floaty beer league hockey then that's your problem.

Not sure about all devices, but the Apple TV app allows you to start games at the beginning, pause rewind, fast forward. Replays are usually up immediately or thereabouts. Edited to add, for clarity: allows you to start games in progress at the beginning.

"Donald Audette doing Donald Audette things." I laughed right out loud... Man, he was dirty.

Oh man. Montreal is really, really going to regret that trade in a year and a half or so...

And the hits, they keep on (low-key) coming for Trump... http://www.twcnews.com/tx/austin/politics/2016/06/2/ap--greg-abbott-given--35k-gubernatorial-campaign-donation-after-trump-university-probe-in-texas-dropped.html I think the worst thing about this whole campaign has been the kid-gloved response of the media in general to everyone's favorite cheeto-faced shitgibbon. No matter what, he gets all the free airtime he wants, doesn't have to answer for much, and have you heard how awful Hillary is?

And here I was expecting Clark Gillies.

Fair enough.

Sheer volume may indeed account for a large portion of my perceived discrepancy, but I seriously can not recall an instance of your "the other team" chiding rightwards. I am quite happy to be proven wrong. Edited to add: I put "Neutral" in quotes for a reason.

As a Mets fan, I'm quite confused at the moment. This season has been a tire fire. Half (literally, 5/10) of the opening day lineup is out for the year. Harvey, Matz, DeGrom are all hurt. Wheeler never made it up, and I think he may be having his arm cut off soon. Nobody can hit, outside of Cespedes, who has one working leg. Yet, as of right now, the team is one game out of a wildcard spot. This is insane. Even more insane, given the above, is the animus towards Terry Collins. The hell is he supposed to do? If indeed the Mets make even the division series, it'll be one of the most amazin' (see what I did there?) seasons ever.
-
For someone espousing the "neutral" views you have, you only seem to hammer down in one direction...
-
Quite possibly. I'd follow that up with another question: was it ever going to be possible for the Republicans to nominate anyone else? The party is devouring itself.

Gotta make room for those nonviolent drug offenders somehow...

There is also this.

In my particular case, I'll admit that I also hate the All-Star Game for similar reasons, and am militantly indifferent to NHL players at the Olympics because of other issues surrounding the Olympics in general. If an honest-to-goodness IIHF World Cup similar in structure and scope to FIFA's were to come about, then I'd be all for it. What we're left with, however, is (again, solely in my opinion) less than interesting/exciting.

Evander Kane arrested on misdemeanor charge for June nightclub incident

Or he's just trolling as hard as he possibly can. -
The NHL is currently retweeting every World Cup Goalie's thank you to their respective gear manufacturer for their, well. Gear. I think I'm out on the World Cup as currently constituted. Won't be watching or caring about it. Probably wasn't before I saw that, but let's be a bit more ham-fisted in our pursuit of filthy lucre, eh Gary?
