Dealing with these two:
1. The good players are all getting older, the interchangeable bottom half of the roster didn't get it done this time.
2. St. Louis may be the luckiest team in the history of lucky teams coming out of that series. Minnesota was the better team everywhere but the scoreboard in every game. Which gets you knocked out in the first round because you still lost four times, but still.
The hawks are screwed royally. Kind of why I picked them to make the Finals this year, felt like a last-kick at the can situation.
The following 8 players have No Movement Clauses and account for $53.338 against the Cap:
Kane
Towes
Hossa (with the added benefit of cap recapture if they try to buy him out)
Anisimov
Seabrook
Keith
Hjarlmarsson (or however you spell that)
Crawford
Added bonus: Panarin makes 6 Mil next year. Darling is a UFA That's $60 million on 9 guys. The bottom half of the lineup... not so good, unless they can hit on young guys, which didn't happen this time around. Nick Schmaltz and Jordan Tootoo aren't gonna get it done.
Welp, I need another shower now.
This, if true, writes some of the nonsense in this thread re: Pegula and "character" down on a large sheet of paper, stuffs it in a bottle filled with gasoline, sets fire to it, and tosses it into a church.
I think the Caps are genuinely cursed to turn into a pumpkin every year when the clock strikes "playoffs". What in the world? They should not be looking at 7 games against this Laffs team.
Bergeron takes literally the single dumbest penalty I've ever seen. In double overtime.
I don't care how hard it screws my bracket at this point, let the Bruins end tonight.
The Laffs fans on twitter right now jumping through flaming logical hoops to absolve Matthews of responsibility for completely losing his man on the goal are amusing to me.
OSP had No intention of paying either Drury or Danny. Vanek's contract only happened because Darcy painted him into a corner on that one. Remember, OSP loudly grumbled about why all players aren't on one year contracts (probably wage-capped as well). But he was a better owner in retrospect than TPegs. Or so one of us would have you believe.
If I were Drury I'd be pretty pissed.
-Bump-
His was brought up in another thread a bit ago, but the deafening silence surrounding KO is quite frightening.
Murray blew a gasket when half a question was asked at his presser, nobody seems to know or want to say anything.
Screw hockey, I just hope the guy's going to get better.
Alternately, they absolutely do have someone in mind, aren't talking about it, and this will unfold over a month or so as this individual's (these Individuals') team is eliminated from the playoffs.
