After all we've been through, it still feels darn good when we're winning. -

Nice couple plays Krebs on both ends. -
The guy wouldn't care if the team becomes the Atlanta Sabres of course he's not going to care about a reasonable discussion that perhaps we're not playing as bad as our record. I appreciate you bringing up this data.

Selfishness is sometimes necessary but more often is a rotten mindset.
-
I don't either but this is a rotten statement.

You don't know why saying contradicting things is a problem?
-
How does a tainted team that players don't want to come to because of "Eichel's neck" do that? You've got to stop saying both.
-
1) McDavid has proven he was the prize player and leader and Eichel was a good player and the antithesis of leadership. 2) The league cares nothing about the Eichel handling. Our reputation is soured but for entirely different reasons. 3) Because of our reputation, we have to build from within. We're doing that and it takes an extremely long time.
-
I think the fatal error was tanking for McDavid and ending up with Eichel.

You said name one good decision he's made, then named a good decision he's made.

Peterka is on pace to being a point per game player. -
Except that's not what I said, assuming you're lumping me into this fictitious group. I said it's fine if anyone wants to wait until they see results. I fully respect the view of not giving this organization any benefit of optimism. I am, however, in full opposition of besmirching anyone that doesn't subscribe to that. If someone believes a line is going to be good, the team improved or think we'll make the playoffs - so be it.
-
Again, you don't practice what you preach. You mock and judge posters constantly who don't agree with your extreme pessimism.
-
Wait you comment on a line saying it's unproven, then say aren't we supposed to be giving our opinions? You argue against what you do. Start a thread titled "Only things that have happened". I get it, you're never going to satisfied until... blank happens. That's fine. It's not fine when you shoot down every optimistic sentiment, those with hope or positive prediction.

22nd doesn't put him in the top 30? You hate everything Sabres and you're looking foolish.
-
How exactly does someone guess 32-36 and would be surprised but not shocked if it's 40? Am I splitting hairs and splitting hairs?

Oh no. Complete sadness came over me. My heart just dropped for those people. -
I'm putting a lot of faith in Lindy. Maybe too much and I know he's not the be all. I just think it's hard to deny, he's a legitimate coach. I voted that we of course have above average talent. All but Dahlin haven't realized it. I do think we're mostly soft as a measurement of the group as a whole. However because of the talent and Dahlin, I think they measure to above average, despite the fact it hasn't materialized on the ice. Power, Samuelsson Byrum and Clifton have to get better, way better. It's a huge ask but to my original point, I trust Lindy to bring it out of them.
-
I think what's missing here for me is using the words over and leaps as it relates to average. When I first read LGR's post, I couldn't help but feel like, man we're in more trouble than I thought. My brain went to, how can I expect several players to have career years to get to that desired goal number? Am I the only one that let their brain have that thought? However the average kept coming back into my mind. Why can't MORE players sum above their average subtracted from the sum of players below their average be greater? I absolutely think this can happen. I certainly don't know that it will be 17 goals greater than the sum of averages, but to me, it's not unreasonable to think it can be closer to 270 than 253.
-
I'll be happy for him, especially if about 15 of them are against Vegas.
-
I don't blame anyone for the way this franchise has caused them to feel. However, I think some of the negative gets a little out of hand. It's reasonable to believe some players that had a down year can bounce back, young players can continue getting better, the bottom 6 can be better and Lindy will be can be a significant influence. If we stay healthy and UPL is legit, I think we'll be a good team that we can respect.
-
I picked #1. Initially it felt weird and desperate, aken to Levy as GM. However, it started to make more sense to me. This team needed a pro voice in the room. KA has no experience building a team and it showed. Not that I don't think he has done some good things. Lindy, IMO, was the one guy on the list of available coaches KA would listen to with the least amount of time to get comfortable with. I have no idea how good we'll be but I believe these players acquired were targeted. I personally feel better Lindy was a part of that process.

I'm excited about the upcoming season.
