Dahlin Met With GMKA, Turn it Around or Heβs Gone

This is actually quite ridiculous. -
Kevyn Adams is about to join some (un)esteemed company

I disagree. I think it's a decently structured team, lacking high end talent. The most difficult type of players to acquire for Buffalo. They must be drafted and it hasn't happened. -
I found the presser extremely disturbing but mostly because I now know why we're soft. Where we differ is , I don't believe there's more that can be done than tinkering. It's either over pay in a trade or draft very well and wait. I don't see how that's not clear by now. It's not something new and has nothing to do with KA.

I just think it doesn't matter if the GM loves the city. He's presenting it as It's most important, so the fans should not question that about him. I haven't seen that matter to one fan, it's about doing the job. I also said I don't mind him having a personal relationship. But when you think you're brothers with the players, that's an issue.

This interview aggravated me more than I thought it would and maybe he's just a showman. I do sympathize with the challenges of being the GM of the Sabres. I think he's misinterpreting what his job is and what the City (fans) want. He said no one can say I don't love Buffalo. Well no one is saying that because no one cares. I don't care if my GM thinks it's a terrible place to live. It's odd how much he brings that up and alarming that it's his barometer for most decisions. I don't mind him having a personal relationship with the players but I do mind that he can't say, I like Dylan Cozens but it wasn't good enough. There's a lot of players that I like but if they don't play good enough, I'll trade them too. His ultimate job is to remove emotion and he inserts it. That's not a leader.
-
I disagree with his approach as a GM. He mentioned it being emotional with Cozens. While I appreciate that on a human level, I find it almost inappropriate. He said it's hard, you've got brothers that you go to war with everyday. No, you're their boss not their brother. I fully understand sports has shifted and it's not the iron fist anymore and it shouldn't be, but this is nuts IMO.

I believe you.

I so wish we would try the MAJOR organizational and players route. Oh wait, we did that and it's what manifested the situation we're in.

There's no way they're giving him an extension right now. -
What will be the Sabres approach at the trade deadline?

I remember when it screamed needing a change at the top of the hockey management team before. Then we got this group. -
This is 100% the answer, IMO.

How'd you find the will to post this and why would you? -
I so wish Tage was experiencing this. It would have been good for him to be around it.
-
Is Martone that hard to play against guy we have been needing?
-
That's what I'm referring to, last year. He had injuries then too and prior IIRC. Now he's proven that it's not just the injuries.
-
I agree. I'm saying those RFA's worth a crap aren't coming to Buffalo. Unless you find a nice guy like Okposo that you over pay and offer an opportunity to be something no other team would offer, because he isn't good enough to be offered that there. They might come. I don't want that. Maybe a better way for me to explain my opinion is, I don't think we're a 2nd line center, a RHD, and a tougher guy away from anything significant. We're bereft of top NHL talent. IMO, we have the rest.
-
We can't spend wisely. Not on the type of players we need. We don't have near enough draft capital to trade for them and the rest restrict us trading for them. We're a team ready for the Reinhart and Eichel draft years now. Then we'd be good.
-
I don't think you're getting a better player in return. To me that's very little with Power because he's not played well and has a large contract. It won't be anywhere near enough because his potential is still massive. Byram isn't under contract and needs one, so teams aren't giving you plenty, then having to figure that out. I don't necessarily mean you'll get nothing, I just don't think the return will be commensurate with their current value to our own team. I'm not willing to lose either player and lose on the trade too.
-
I understand how fans can feel insulted that we aren't spending to the cap. However, I don't want a Kyle Okposo signing just for the perception. Then that player becomes a hindrance. Kyle's money hurt us. I'd rather Terry saves the money and only spends when actual opportunity knocks.
-
I seem to remember the advanced stats showed that we won more often when Samuelsson played. So my feeling was, just stay healthy man, you're important. Now it's just pure disappointment because he can't stay healthy and isn't making a difference. So frustrating.
-
This is really smart. You'll get very little in return for the 22 year old Power and even less for Byram. We should definitely trade one of them.
-
I think the overwhelming majority of players that have a NTC, have Buffalo on it. Spending to the cap makes very little sense to me. That depicts that we are the type of players we could sign / because they would sign with us in free agency away and I don't think that's close to true.
-
I think he got hurt. Rushing to the net.
-
Yes sir. I think we've got good players and a really nice cupboard, but we lack the hardest players to find and obtain. I respect your response but wish I knew more so maybe I could offer more to think about. Which maybe your reply would still be, I don't. Still offering though.
