  1. 13 years, but they did play very well. Gee, I feel better. The bar is so low with this franchise.
  2. Point taken. Not making the playoffs would also be a suitable definition of status quo.
  3. I disagree; the only thing that could be worse is the status quo. I think the irony is that this team has regressed so much, that even after thirteen seasons of futility, the majority of fans would be open to a tear down with the right President, GM, and HC (collectively) in place.
  4. All the more reason to have had an experienced, seasoned, savvy President of Hockey Operations running the organization, instead of a Harbor Center Director.
  5. I don't think it's possible; Granato doesn't have the stones to can any assistant coaches. He'll accept his firing with responsibility when it happens, along with the contract extension he got. Which brings me to another point: Pegula, and/or his agents, mind boggling habit, whether it's the Sabres or Bills, of giving big money contracts to players with scant bodies of work, or coaching/management extensions using the same rationale. This in turn gives rise to moving them, or firing respectively, later rather than sooner, so as to minimize the initial mistake of throwing good money after bad.
  6. "...behind the scenes, they should be strongly evaluating...". Who is "they"? The deep state? I suspect "they" is, and has been, the problem.
  7. It's hard to quantify who "they" is, other than the owner, considering the spotless record of incompetence, be it from the futile succession of coaching or management.
  8. Granato should have been gone at Christmas. Adams is a horrible GM. His best qualification is Terry likes him. They both need to be relieved. It's so embarrassing what this organization has become since Pegula arrived.
  9. You sound strangely like Ryan O'Reilly. Pegula's ineptitude, disappearance, and silence have metastasized the cancer.
  10. 67 (Class of 74), 50 years ago. Couldn't get tickets for the Sabres first ever home game, but did go to the Braves first home game the following night. Amazing times!
  11. Top five pick,...I'm ecstatic!
  12. Maybe because they made him wait a few years for the big payday, whereas Adams gave Power the big contract after one season, completely unnecessary! How'd that work out?
  13. I think it's time for Kevin Adams to commit seppeku.
  14. Adams just gave this group his steadfast endorsement. He has to go, along with the HC!
  15. Love this tune; the opening guitar riff, lyrics, drumming,...all of it! I was not aware of these guys. This is now in the top ten of my playlist that I listen to each morning when I get my walking in. So, thank you for posting it! One never knows where or when he may stumble across a previously hidden gem, completely by serendipity. May a similar fortuitousness bless our beloved hockey team!
  16. "He lost the room",..."he hasn't lost the room". Going from being blown out by nine goals, to blowing out your opponent, in a span of two days. Sabres fan fickleness on full display; the victims have become the enablers.
  17. Think what you want, but it was a "thing" with Ryan O'Reilly, Jack Eichel, Taylor Hall (whatever you may think of him), probably Linus Ullmark, and probably Sam Reinhart.
  18. "Losing is a disease. Ah! But curable". I'm taking the long view, in that even if they win tonight, it only reinforces the maddening inconsistency, whereas losing; losing big in particular, opens the floodgates of public scorn, ripping the bandaid off of the festering pustule of the Pegula s**t show, precipitating fandom outcries of, "guillotine!, guillotine!". it's in the air.
  19. Listening to Samuelsson, I've always thought his heart is in Philly, to the point that maybe subconsciously, he doesn't really want to be in Buffalo?
  20. That ship sailed when he was awarded an NFL franchise.
