  1. Eat it from the sides and you'll be fine.
  2. lol IK!!! It's like Sens vs. Sabres. I just can't win.
  3. That was a hell of an offer. I was tempted but just couldn't do it. lol
  4. Stafford is out, Chris Butler is in. Butler could also play a little at forward. per Paul Hamilton.
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-Z3YrHJ1sU
  6. I rejected the offer and didn't bother even looking to counter, only because my team is flying high right now and i still think a few guys could pick it up, so im gonna go Darcy on my team for now. Just wanted to let you know why i rejected your offer without a counter...
  7. Yup. Yahoo is doing that this year because ESPN has been doing that for years. I liked the old system better but it gives people the extra chance to make a switch if it needs to be done.
  8. Hope i don't come off too harsh, but, is there a need for nobody to be cheating the system by signing guys who are playing each night? Most leagues ive played in, MLB, NHL or NBA which are competitive or for money, always have a max roster limit set for like 75 - 100. Nobody gives himself about 14-16 more players then his opponents each week giving his opponents very limited chances. I didn't think a forum based league would need roster limit so i didn't say anything before because i thought it was one of those "fair play" type unwritten rules. I understand when you have a terrible player and you keep subbing him out several times to find the right fit but it seems you keep getting guys who are playing the following day. Last year, nobody had 78 moves, leading the league, with 3 teams coming tied for second with 22. This year, Nobody already has 78 with the second being 28. I just don't feel it makes it for a fair league and it discredits those who took the time to prepare for the draft to pick their teams right, because it's obvious more times then not, those who will sign free agents who will play will have better chances at most offensives categories.... Just saying.
  9. Not for Christmas, but if the Sabres want to show the fanbase they are committed they will break the bank to sign Ehrhoff. Guy is the PPQB this team is desperate for.
  10. Truth couldn't have been said better then by the MSG crew... Ray says Vanek looks completly different now that he has confidence and that is true, he was the best player on the ice in the first period. Vanek's presence late in the period on that hectic play created 4 shots for Buffalo. Also, Roby said despite high number of shots, it's an easy night for Miller. I'll take quality over quantity any day of the week. They can shoot all they want, but Miller has yet to be truly tested. Great job by the defense. Steve Montador was one of the better players vs. Washington, and he's outstanding again tonight. And, despite having some issues handling the puck, Morrisson is turning the corner is is looking much better. He's finally hitting guys, clearing the crease and doesn't look slow.
  11. lol yeah. That was the most ridic comment i've read in a long time, unless they lose like 8-1. Caps are the best team in the league, arguably have the best player in the league, are 9-1-0 at home this season and are coming off a loss to Buffalo just few days ago....
  12. Agreed. He posted what he wants and i think almost everybody here would be lying if they said they didn't want to turn on the news and hear that Criag Rivet has retired.
  13. I could have skipped the whole week and still almost caught up just by the way my team played today! lol Sorry to whom ever i played this week but my team was on fire.
  14. Yeah, i think they threw her off at one point. But, that could have been just nerves, i don't know.
  15. I like Friday night games. But, anyone remember back in the Biron/Mika era, where crowds were very small and the Sabres did "Red Hot Fridays" and wore those Red jerseys? They had tons of discounts and a later start (8pm) and as a result the crowds were much bigger and very rowdy. Those were the days. Maybe thats why i like Friday nights so much, because i went to most back then at a discount rate and got absolutely wasted before heading out to Chippawa right after.
  16. Nice recap. I agree with most of it, especially the Kovy part. He is definitely NOT a top 10 player. He's a top 10 scorer. But thats all he is. He's quick and has quick hands. Does that make him a top 10 player? No. He doesn't back check, he doesn't battle by the boards, his passing is awful, his vision of the ice is terrible, he isn't clutch and when he doesn't score goals, he's worthless. That's why he's never almost never been in the playoffs and when he has, it's been a quick exit. And i don't even want to hear about the "bad" teams he's been on, because he's played with some solid players. For a top 10 talent to be with decent players, he should have more playoffs success.
  17. Yes, but it won't last. Theres probably only three teams in the entire league that are worse then us, and we've played two of them the past 2 games. Going on short rest, it may be tough tomorrow, but NYR are not very good either although i think Gaborik is returning... but after that, back to our losing ways.
  18. I think that has to be blamed on Lindy Ruff. He's always had problems with his offenses. He's always focused more on defense and now seems like when our players leave and we get replacements, they are always just worse. Not that i am going to beg on them for letting Clarke MacArthur go, but the way he's skating now in Toronto and last year in Atlanta, he never did here. He was more of a banger and seemed slow. But, turns out hes a really good open ice player. Still has problems with finishing, and that isn't Ruff's fault, but you get my point. The offensive tactics that Ruff has up his sleeve, nobody buys into. Especially guys who have been under him for years or rentals.... And that, IMO, is why he must go.
  19. Enroth starting in goal for Buffalo tonight.
  20. Agreed. These guys are bums and i would go as far to say Patrick Kaleta isn't too far down on that list of getting let go, as long as they find another cheap replacement, someone similar to Cody McCormick. I think Drew Stafford would be the toughest to trade away, so i think it may just be easier to keep him around. Rivet and Connolly are UFA at the end of the year, so i would assume there would be interest in both of them from teams in the playoff hunt. And if Goose keeps his faceoff % up, he may gain interest too. Second part, i don't agree with. I would love to get Jerome Iginla in here. I would offer young players like Enroth and Adam, also a 1st round pick, and current players like Connolly or Stafford to get him. But, i would send Vanek or Ennis. Iggy isn't get any younger. Vanek and Ennis have their entire careers still ahead of them.
  21. Not sure if anyone is interested, but i would be willing to unload Jay Bouwmeester... looking for either a C or RW.
  22. This doesn't make much sense. Not all teams that spend to the cap can compete for the Cup. And not all teams that don't spend to the cap are terrible teams. And, the Sabres have had one of the higher payrolls in the league last few years, just not this year. This team needs a lot of help, no hiding from that, but that comment was garbage.
  23. I watched Atlanta play San Jose and they look good. They go out, hit and place with good pace. I really hope we can finally win one but i just don't see it.
  24. Only way to get a ruckus crowd at HSBC Arena is lower the prices. Most hardcore fans can't afford the tickets and our season ticket base is at like 14k. Most of those people are people who go in wearing shirts and ties. Our atmosphere for playoffs is one of the best in the league, and many players around the league say so and Bruins said it last year too.
