Per reports, Sabres interested in Tyler Toffoli. http://kuklaskorner.com/tso/comments/report-regier-interested-in-kings-toffoli No way they can even be considered if all we're offering is Regher, Leopold or Stafford. That's laughable. Gotta be something bigger, like Pominville for Toffoli and Bernier?

wow what an incredible story. Thanks for sharing that with us. You did all you could, and were probably more patient then most would of been in your shoes. Did you ever find out how come the sister didn't like the parents? -

Per John Vogl- Stafford + Scott sit. Miller in net. -
In case anyone was wondering, Cooper will not coach tomorrow night vs. Buffalo. He will make his NHL coaching debut on Friday against New Jersey.

You forgot to add the laughing face.
-
Dallas couldn't do that because it goes against their strategy of helping out Ray Shero.

It's very rare you can build on success with free agents. NYR used to sign all the big free agents and have little success. Detroit rarely signs free agents and usually win. Building a winner in the free agent market is as rare as a small market team such as Minnesota signing two marquee free agents like Parise and Suter. If Sabres are to become a dynasty as Pegula hopes they will, they'll need to do it via the draft and making some real solid trades. Like Roy for Ott. Now they have a chance to trade one or two of the big three (Miller, Pominville, Vanek) and if they can get a huge return on those, and draft/develop well, we'll be well on our way IMO. So well said.

The one player i would try to consider getting for Stafford is Columbus' Derick Brassard. He's just like Stafford in terms of being an underachiever, and makes only $800k less then Drew. Brassard so far it just a 40point player there, and isnt afraid to throw his body around at times. Stafford has not succeed here but under a new management and coaching staff, they'd could think they could get lighting in a bottle if they can develop Stafford into a 25 goal scorer. Historically, Stafford has done well vs Columbus, including goals and some solid fights. Even though they have a new GM in place, im sure many scouts/front office guys are still there. For Buffalo, Brassard could be a solid third line center between Ott and Foligno, add some speed and he plays on the PP there so we could use him in that role if needed too.

I remember during the draft he was compared to Duncan Keith. I haven't seen any games this week but from reading comments and listening to insiders on wgr, seems accurate so far after 2 games.

perfect user name you have.

why would the second best team in the NHL consider trading either of their goalies for our trash? hiller and fasth are 1a and 1b there.
-
is it RR turning it around or the players really realizing they're not only showcasing themselves for Buffalo but possible suitors too? and very good goaltending is a big plus for RR. in the win vs. NYR, they were outshot something like 18-3 in the 3rd, in the game vs. Montreal we had 10 first period shots then just 3 from start of 2nd until the 8min mark of the third. thats awful no matter how you slice it. too many times under RR they havnt "won" but Held on for thier Lives.

thank you

I'm not a big fan, just haven't seen enough. rolston has been dealt a very bad hand. you can't say this sabres team has quit on him or are not trying, they just lack talent. but, IMO this team is just as bad as with ruff. no difference. defensively, they may be worse. the big thing to me is, nothing smells mediocrity more then keeping rolston here. I want both Darcy and RR gone but how do you justify bringing him back? this organization needs new blood.
-
per twitter, Espn's Craig Custance says he spoke to Darcy, and he says that any trade the Sabres pull off between now and the deadline will be focused to improve the squad for next season. prob common knowledge but thought it was worth posting. sorry no link to his tweet as I have no idea how to copy and paste links on the ipad and its almost 3am here.
-
no it shouldn't. focus on making the Buffalo Sabres better. if that means sending Stafford to Detroit, then so be it.
-
yea I know that but it could be enough for him to come with an open mind for an interview. thing about Roy that worries me, is his hot temper. I once read an article that quotes few sources close to Roy who said no way his hot temper will ever translate to the NHL.
-
other then preseason, why would they Amerks do that?
-
and his son is in the organization.
-
but according to ken sawyer, Darcy regier is a "hockey genius"... ;)

interesting note I saw on twitter, from the trade front- St. Louis has their gm, asst. gm, and 2 top scouts at this game. with Montreal in a key spot, doubt they're looking for a big move so they must be there to watch buffalo. Chicago also has some heavy hitters there, including Scotty bowman. -
Hey guys- my cousin passed away yesterday in Poland after fighting cancer for 2 years. I am flying to Poland in a few hours from Toronto, so I will not be online much besides like facebook, so no forum or fantasy until the 25th of March when i return. Hopefully my team doesn't tank. Good luck and talk to everyone when i return. Just didnt want you to think i had quit,

I will also say, i have been really impressed with Brian Flynn. I felt like he was the 2nd best skater on the ice in Carolina (behind Hodgson) and i thought he was fantastic last night. Not a gamechanging player by any means but its nice to see a guy who plays with heart every shift.
