  1. If you're hoping for him to make a significant improvement by Monday 3pm, you're setting yourself up for huge disappointment. Teams in our position don't go out and get help at the deadline. Also, i don't think Murray will want to risk losing lottery ball percentage odds.
  2. No ive been here, just changed my name back to what i started with. Figured since he's retired now and Moulson is brutal it was the right time. Thank you though!
  3. Yeah, but they need a lot more then just that.
  4. I would think Cole Schneider will start right away with the Sabres. I think with bodies moving out (McGinn) and some guys just not ready yet, such as Bailey, they gave themselves some buffer before rushing guys. I like the trade though. They got bigger and more two-way players. The Amerks are a mess, GMTM says its important to have a good farm team, which i think is correct. I think theres a correlation. I hated Leduc's game and wasn't much of a fan of Varone. Who is undersized and soft. Also, it seems to me that Murray is high on college players. Three of the players in this deal coming to the Sabres went through the college route then junior leagues in Canada. Interesting concept i think.
  5. Not sure if it's common knowledge or not, but for anyone wondering about the rare 11pm (8pm West coast) faceoff time, it's due to the NBC outdoor game. They wanted noone to interfere with their broadcast. The only other games during that timeslot tonight are HNIC.
  6. I dont get this criticism. Who did you want to win the election? Or was this a post you had written up no matter who had won? I don't think he's perfect, but i do think hes the right choice. I was hoping he'd win. There is many things hes had his hands on in UEFA that have turned out great thus far. The big thing thats regular joe's like us will notice with this elect, is his idea of a regional world cup. Up the teams to 40, and have regional hosts, similar to the Euro 2020, which was his idea as well.
  7. Yost also said earlier in the day he's heard the return on McGinn won't be more then a 3rd round pick.
  8. Enroth, Neuvirth and Lindback all played well at times for the Sabres last year and we had no problems giving them away, so i don't think they will have any issue giving Johnson away this year. What makes it difficult for Johnson is that we've invested a ton into Robin Lehner and they are uber high on Linus Ullmark. I do agree with you on McGinn though.
  9. Johnson is a free agent this summer. I'd be surprised if he was re-signed.
  10. Did i hear right at the end of the broadcast Saturday night, Brian Duff said RJ is going on a "short break" then say he will be back in MARCH? But i agree with those who say RJ of old is gone, He was amazing to hear years ago and the team being bad can't be much of an excuse bc we've had many bad teams. I still enjoy listening to him because i realize its nearing an end, so just trying to enjoy as much as possible.
  11. Not even with Ullmark? He has shown some flashes of brilliance i thought. As for the original topic- No i don't think they gave up too much. Murray is a draft guru and has assembled a pretty big scouting department so we need to hope they can have a decent success rate at drafting players to fill out a roster. He traded away pieces to get the core of the team. I think we can all agree our core is ROR, Eichel, Kane and Reinhart. It's very early still to start thinking about the draft classes that Murray has drafted, but a few of the players have already shown they might be contributors at the NHL level- From 2014, Martin and Karabecek, and from this past draft Estephen, Guhle and Borgen all have looked good. That doesn't include Cornel and Fasching from previous drafts/trades. Not all have to hit, and they won't, but i'd be shocked if none of these guys play regular time in the NHL at some point. Also, don't forget the Sabres still have 11 draft picks in the 2016 draft and that doesn't count any they may receive in potential deals.
  12. He's been scratched most of the season.
  13. I don't think it's a major step down from a performance standpoint but Fowler is a $4m cap hit for two seasons after this one, so i think based on that and potential i think they'd value moving Fowler over Theodore.
  14. I don't think the Ducks would trade Theodore, essp not for Ennis while on his worst season in the league. If a deal is doable there, i think the player we need to look at is Cam Fowler.
  15. Excellent post! Enjoyed it very much. Merry Christmas to you too, Modo!
  16. I'm polish so I'm gonna spend most of the euros in Poland except for when we go to France but I think we're gonna fly through Brussels on our way!!
  17. Czech Republic vs. Croatia in Saint-Etienne Poland vs. Ukraine in Marseille
  18. Any going to the euro cup? I'm going to two games! Super pumped
  19. Has anybody ever gone to this event? I'm strongly considering it this year but was wondering if it's worth it?
  20. lol same here
  21. Did anybody else receive the email from the Sabres asking a bunch of questions about the broadcasts on MSG? Looks like all Sabres insider members got an email. It seems as if they are in the process of making changes to the broadcasts and are looking for input from the fans. Which is cool because i've always felt the broadcasts were a bit weak.
  22. I don't buy into this at all, but the schedule for the Sabres is very strange. We played Tampa four time in the first 15 games, played Dallas home/away in the same week, same with St Louis. A few other bizarre things come up too, but i don't think the league was after us. Im sure it was tough for those teams as well.
  23. Sure, it wasn't the perfect situation for him, but there was a lot of of flaws from his side as well. Inability to improve skating and his poor attitude didn't help at all.
  24. Elliott Friedman just said on HNIC that Robin Lehner has a high ankle sprain and will be out months. He also said, it is expected the Sabres will go with Chad Johnson and also will give Linus Ullmark a chance, who got cleared today and is starting in Rochester tonight.
