Randy Sexton and Steve Greeley hired as Asst GMs
Two or less replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Great hire if true. When would he come, after the draft like Brandon Beane did from Carolina or would he still want to jump ship before the draft and get working with his new team? -
Cincinnati Cyclones now Sabres ECHL Affiliate

Welcome back Cincinnati, our first ever AHL affiliate. -
No idea on the package, but the name that was mentioned, i forget who said it, maybe the guy in Boston (Murphy's law, who was wrong on our GM pick), that Torey Krug would be involved in a package. Depending on the return, it'd be a pretty nice haul for Boston to turn a undrafted free agent into Evander Kane.

He's 40.... I think they offer Gionta a position in the front office. Thats my guess. A guy i'd like them to sign is Jay Beagle. Very good defensive center and has been usually on a winning team most of his career. I think adding a bottom 6 guy who can be a shutdown guy, throw his body a bit and has experience in the playoffs/big games would be a nice get for this team.

TSN's Cullen - Off-season Gameplan for the Sabres
Two or less replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I typically like Cullen's work i agree you with, this didn't really do much for me. Cullen was on WGR with Schopp and the Bulldog and they asked him about if the Sabres can add a dmen prior to the expansion draft and he was saying they might want to wait til after because if they get one prior to the draft they would need to decide who to protect between McCabe and Bogosian, and Cullen said it'd be a tough decision as the Sabres wouldn't want to lose either guy. Are you joking? Vegas would never touch that contract and if they did the Sabres would be super thrilled they got out of the contract. -
Where were the leaks about the guys the Bills just recently hired?

How do you know he hasn't been doing that ?

If i'm Botterill, i try to work out a deal with his good friend Fletcher in Minnesota for Jonas Brodin. Not sure what it'd cost but if we get in a serious bidding war, i don't think anyone could match our offer of the 8th overall pick (assuming they are protecting Spurgeon and Dumba). Someone also mentioned trying to trade for Josh Manson, which i love the idea as well. Big and heavy d-men with a playoff run on his resume and a former captain on multiple teams. Not sure what it'd cost to get him out of the Ducks but like someone said something has got to give there. Lastly, i call Pittsburgh and ask them for "bust" Derrick Pouliot. Former top-10 draft pick just needs a change of cities maybe? Is still young but it doesn't seem like Pittsburgh has much of a future for him. Assuming the cost to trade for him isn't too much, i get him for Rochester and start developing him along with Guhle and Nelson as my "next up" d-men group. McCabe - Risto Brodin - Manson Antipin - Bogosian In AHL... Guhle - Nelson Austin - Pouliot Stephens - xx

What can we expect from GM Jason Botterill?

He's playing in a tournament in Germany... -
What can we expect from GM Jason Botterill?
Two or less replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Why? Botterill today just said how 90% of the teams are looking to add dmen and how hard it is to actually find a trading partner, meanwhile Antipin would cost just under a million dollars for one season. Not much risk in that. -
Welcome! Seeing Sabres fans in other parts of the world never gets old for me. I just love it.

What can we expect from GM Jason Botterill?

If he changes coaches in Rochester, i wonder if he will look at Chris Taylor as a replacement for head coach in Rochester? Taylor is an assistant coach for Wilkes-Barre. -
I'm with you. To me he's like a Oliver Kylington. He was the #1 European skater during mid-season rankings but dropped for various reasons to Calgary in the second round. I wouldn't be opposed to drafting him just not at number 8. It's still early but right now I think our draft board needs to be Miro, Makar then BPA. (Assuming we don't trade it).

Expectations for Guhle for next season and beyond?
Two or less replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Everything you hear and read about Botterill is he is very high on player development so i would expect Guhle to spend a good amount of time in Rochester next season. I think we will bring in 2 maybe even three new d-men to the team, including Antipin, and thus not having to really rely on Guhle to make the jump right away. He looked really good in his short time during his callup last season though, but i still think the right route for him is to spend time in the AHL. Speaking of Guhle, did you guys see his younger brother went first overall in the WHL draft this past weekend? -
Why would the Kings make that trade?
-
I actually think that's a good bit of info. Shannon didn't say it was for gm. It's maybe our first indication we're looking to fill a role above the gm.

Ed Sheeran at KBC.

When Darcy got fired it was a surprise, and a even shocked when the press conference began and LaFontaine and Nolan were at the arena. And absolutely zero hints of Murray getting fired. I'd say chances are high one of the 6 guys mentioned will be our next GM but I wouldn't be shocked if they go off the grid with anyone else.

And more importantly family friends with the Eichel's.
-
I'm guessing GM search is on hold until atleast Saturday or Sunday?
-
Stephens is a interesting prospect. Likes the play a heavy game and is very experienced. In his WHL career, he's played in 50 playoff games and 5 in the Memorial Cup.

That's pretty much my dream team right there.
