  1. Celebrini scores 7 min into his debut.
  2. Yeah but not every 0-2 is the same. Bengals starting 0-2 and they can probably overcome it because they have proven talent. Someone like Carolina Panthers start 0-2 and they're toast. Sabres core and youth have never proved they can do it over the course of a season. A slow start, will only put them in a hole where they won't be able to get out of. And after getting steamrolled two games on neutral ice, it's hard to believe they will all a sudden start to click and stay above water in the near future. FWIW, in terms of Kings having jet leg, they are already on the east coast. They play in Quebec tonight and staying there until they come to Buffalo for the game.
  3. You would have to be living under a rock to vote NO.
  4. The Sabres are just a very flawed build team. Always a year too late. After the 2022/23 season they needed to restructure that entire fourth line. They wait until this summer. Only 9 teams scored LESS then the Sabres last season. Sabres didnt have a player in the TOP-93 in scoring last season (Jay Skurski tweeted this) and the Sabres let go of Jeff Skinner and his 24 goals. Without replacing him. I have no issues with dumping Skinner, they knew they had to dump him the second they did the fake coach search to convince Lindy Ruff to come work here. And by some reports it sounds like they tried but Martin Neces rejected them. They had no plan B? Plan C? It's not nuts and bolts. They are build very poorly and it shows. And mixing up the lines or playing some kids who have potential but are not ready yet, is not going to be the answer.
  5. I bet we don't make it again til they expend the playoff field.
  6. Sabres PP stats (4 MIN) Shots: 0 Faceoffs: 0/3 Woof
  7. Yeah, today seems like a very important October game. Crazy how we got to this point. lol
  8. I thought it was interesting how Lindy deployed the fourth line on the PK. SH TOI Malenstyn 0:20 Lafferty 0:15 Kubel 0:00 (Was in the box for 1 of our 2 penalties) I thought they were going to rely more on those guys to kill penalties. Greenway led with 2:24.
  9. Sabres won 58% of the faceoffs in this game, a change from a year ago. However, they only went 1-5 on faceoffs on the PP. The one PP they won the faceoff, they ended up with 5 SOG. Not winning those key faceoffs is going to drive Lindy crazy.
  10. Awesome, thanks for setting it up, i will be there.
  11. These boys gonna face a legit roster tonight. Good luck to them but i have a feeling this might be the opposite of the first time we played. haha
  12. Not exactly their best, but Ullmark is playing.
  13. EF mentioned this morning on 32 thoughts that he had heard rumors that Krebs could be traded, but Krebs wanted it known that he wanted to remain in Buffalo.
  14. per who?
  15. Practice starts at 8am tomorrow morning. Kevyn Adams will speak shortly before practice to open training camp and Lindy Ruff will speak after practice.
  16. Per his IG account
  17. You’ll never get a player like Zucker to sign with Buffalo coming off 13 straight seasons without a playoff appearance without going over value on him. Sabres are not only paying for goals and assists, but veteran leadership and someone who can uphold a high standard at practice of playing the right way. I think UPL’s deal is fine, very tradeable deal if Devon Levi becomes the true #1 in the near future.
  18. Maybe. He’s the type of player Lindy will love and it’ll drive fans insane bc he’s constantly not the one who’s in the press box. He’s one of the only guys who was willing to fight last few seasons, you’ll never question his compete, he’ll block shots and finish checks. I think Krebs will be a mainstay in our lineup for Lindy.
  19. Also, not that this will help get a deal signed, but this is a player who spend much of his summer in Buffalo working out and skating preparing for the season, he was also one of the few players at the Lindy Ruff press conference. I don't think that goes overlooked by Adams who is all about wanting players to be here. Negotiations are tough but im sure a deal will get signed.
  20. Yeah for sure. Also, i bet Krebs is arguing that he was never used right under Granato and was only being a team player filling any role they needed. But i don't believe the Sabres trying to move him. For one, they won't get much for him. And two, i think he's the type of player Lindy really loves. Someone he can move up and down the lineup, a player that is willing to play with some sandpaper, fight if he has to, has playmaking skills. I don't think its crazy to expect him to match Casey Mittelstadt type numbers if used right
  21. Not that you need anyone to vouch but i agree with everything you said here. To me he was one of the best forwards and his skating and hockey sense stood out to me as well. I posted that in the CBJ thread. That said, i thought the tournament overall was underwhelming for the Sabres. Lots of possession, but rarely did much with it. Kulich couldve had several more goals vs CBJ and Helenius missed that empty net but there was a lot of shots on net but not the best quality. Defense was a mess all tournament, a lot of giveaways in their zone, both goalies struggled i thought too. Besides Kulich, i thought the other skilled forwards played soft. There was no net front presence all weekend unless it was Tullio or Cheveldayoff from the fourth line.
  22. Devils are coming off a 9-1 win vs Ottawa. This Devils team might not be prospect loaded like last several years but they won't be as dreadful as Columbus was last night.
  23. For sure, as goes with every young skilled player. That "rest of the game" is always the last thing that comes for a player. Jiri has played 136 AHL games and is just 20 years old. He doesn't turn 21 until the very end of the Sabres season. Sabres have only 2 games left (and playoffs) after his 21st birthday. Lance Lysowski said Prospal says he think it'd be in Jiri's best interest to keep him in the AHL for more work. He doesn't see the need to rush him. Sabres are taking 30 players overseas for camp and the game vs. Red Bull Munich ahead of the season, im sure he will be one of the 30 on that plane but i don't know how long he sticks around after they return.
  24. I would imagine similar offers are coming in for Östlund. Completely different type of players but both have extremely high ceiling. I am not convinced Kulich will be a center in the NHL, but Östlund most definitely will be.
