The problem with the Amerks prospect call-ups is that they come in hot and can't maintain the consistency. Bailey and Fasching earlier this year too had very impressive/energetic games right after a call-up and straight to invisible after, as Baptiste has had in his past too. We'll see if he's finally learned he needs to play like every night if he wants to stay. His 4 SOG was a career high.

Yeah, and great observation by Biron in the intermission about him holding onto the puck too long before he shoots. There was a few times he did that on Saturday, too. Very frustrating to watch, i wonder what the issue is with the delayed timing for him. Beyond that, i think he's been fantastic last several games.

I'm assuming this means Rochester for a Calder Cup run, but Gionta was on this morning on the Stellick and Simmer show and said after the Olympics he would love to return to the NHL but he would only do it with a Cup contender. I'm guessing if no NHL teams call, this means Amerks door would be open.

Who in their right mind would trade for Antipin? It would have to be a playoff bound team and they would have very limited video of him in the NHL and who knows if his english is any good yet? This just seems like a Alvis classic post, taking a guess and making it sound like its legit.

In any case, I was for hiring Housley, and i'm starting to think I was wrong but i don't think they will or should fire him this season. He needs another season. Just look at Colorado, they had 48pts in Jared Bednar's first season and i'm sure a web site such as Sabrespace in Denver was wondering if Sakic should pull the plug on him too. They stayed with it and the Aves are one of the nicer stories this season.
