Two or less replied to Sabel79's topic in The Aud Club
Modo, hope you'll be able to make it. I missed you when you came to Buffalo/Rochester but love your videos. Would enjoy drinking some beers with you. But i do have a legit question for you... Sweden has a lot of great Djs and my favorite DJs are Swedish (Axwell & Ingrosso) so i know you guys pump out a lot of good music. Wheres the best place with the best DJs in Stockholm? ? thanks in advance lol -

If we're able to get tickets, i would also be interested in joining you going to JFK and splitting costs of parking/gas if thats what you're still thinking. I'll actually be going solo as well from Rochester, but will be joined by my best friend but he lives in Seattle. Not sure if he would join up with me at JFK or in Stockholm. Are you going too? -

I'm planning on going. Can't wait! We'll have to hang out. -
Just wanted to toss this out for anyone interested in the Rochester area, but Sunday 2/24, its the 6th annual crosscheck cancer game. Lots of local media play in it (i dont play but i do have some friends who play). I guess Brian Duff will be playing this year. It's a cool event for fans as theres a lot of cool raffle prizes and Oloffson and Asplund will be there to sign autographs. And its all for a great cause. Game is 4-6 at the Bill Grays iceplex at the MCC campus.

Something to keep an eye out for that i think is interesting is Tampa Bay had three scouts in Buffalo for the game vs. Washington and Steve Greeley just recently went to watch the Syracuse Crunch in Syracuse.

Yeah i have to agree with Ink here. I don't know much about Leier, but based on reading from people in Lehigh Valley, he is a pretty decent AHLer. About to turn 25 next month. Great speed but can't make it in the NHL. In 55 career NHL games, he has only 2 goals and 5 assists. In the AHL, he's got pretty good corsi %, is a very effective penalty killer and in the last 4 games he has scored 6 points. Bailey seems like a guy who is still going to get several shots at the NHL.

The pictures from the Lille stadium are misleading a bit. While the soccer portion looks great, the photos making the stadium smaller doesn't look all that nice. But the total cost of that project was $340 million. Somewhere i read that the Buffalo superstructure would potentially cost $1 billion. That stadium was also build in 2012, if the Pegulas were to build one here, it'd be about 10 years after they build theirs. While the concept remains the same, i would imagine the ideas and look would be very different.

1 point in first 16. 8 points in last 8.

One player i think we should keep an eye out for is Rick Nash. Back in June, Elliott Friedman said the Sabres were very interested in Skinner, Nash and Pacioretty. Nash is still a free agent. Bob McKenzie just recently said during a Wednesday night hockey broadcast on NBC that if Nash returns to the NHL, he wants to remain close to his home Columbus. Obviously the Blue Jackets would be favorites to sign him, but the Sabres having interest earlier in the summer and being relatively close to Columbus probably makes us a legit contender to sign him too. Not sure how much he has left in the tank though.

I've liked Eric Cornel too. It's a make it or break it season for him but i thought he's been solid and i thought he was pretty solid in the second half last season too. I wonder when they give him a chance? I think he could be a solid fourth line player. Danny Paille esque. (the Bruins version)

Speaking of name plate changes, i bought a Dahlin jersey Saturday before the game and put it on as soon as i bought it, and when i got home i realized the jersey was missing the "i". Dahln. wtf

Yeah, i think we're all waiting for that second half of the season explosion that Reinhart had last season with Mittelstadt. I wonder if it'll ever come this season though.

Not only was that awesome, but it was with the game on the line. Pretty impressive to keep the game going for a kid who just 2 weeks ago everyone in the fanbase wanted to be send to the AHL. Also, speaking of the shootout goal, you guys notice Rob Ray call Jimmy Howard "Larkin" during the replay of his attempt? lol

Phil Housley's Future as Sabres Head Coach
Two or less replied to Kruppstahl's topic in The Aud Club
Regardless of the result, i think it's a safe bet he will still be coaching when the team arrives from the west coast trip, but tonights game will tell us a lot i think. If they're flat and offense struggles again, i think he'll be a goner much sooner then most think. Otherwise i think somewhere in January or Feb if they remain in poor form. -
I think the Amerks will be just fine. There is a lot of legit talent there. How good they can become will depend on if any of the players really take off into a star in the AHL, someone like Alex Nylander for example. I think they'll continue to improve as the season goes on but i've always thought the defense was going to have a lot of issues. I wasn't at the game last night so i don't know exactly how all the goals were scored against them, but Guhle is top pairing with Borgen, who i think will become a good pro, this is his first season and the few games he played late last season were pretty bad and he never even dressed in the playoffs. Theres going to be a learning curve there. Second pairing has Pilut, who just made his debut in NA last night paired with Redmond, who has many defensive flaws but is excellent offensively. Third pair had Brandon Hickey who is also making his AHL debut. Many say defensman take longer to develop and the Amerks have a handful of guys who need a lot of time and patience to develop. I think it'll help when they get Jack Doughterty into the lineup.

Honestly, i rarely ever eat at the arena, im more of a beer and peanuts guy during games. I go somewhere before or after the game for food and more drinks, so i can't truly comment on the issues. But, the stories that have come out from opening night via twitter and wgr are incredible. People waiting in line for 30 minutes for a hot dog only to be told they can't sell hot dogs anymore because the temperatures are not warm enough.... Sabresbucks not working.... 30min wait for orders to go through for suite holders.... ordering beer and person telling them they dont have that beer and customer clearly points out that beer in a cooler... its been amazing reading the stories.
-
I think they're locked in. Jacobs lend the Sabres a ton of money to get the arena build in the first place in return of a deal to have concessions. Not sure when that expires though.
-
which of the three interests you?

Biron Maiden here- i'm open to trading Jeff Skinner, Ryan Johansen or a Travis Konecny for a d-men if anyone is light on forwards.

I went to my second ever college football game over the weekend to see UB vs. Army... it was fun. I was excited to see those NFL prospects on UB so it was too bad Johnson didn't play, but if UB had prospects such as Hodge, Jackson, Osborn, ect i would go much more. The only other game i've been to is in Columbia, SC and watched the South Carolina Gamecocks. Now that was amazing. Was when Sidney Rice was there.

we gotta set up a draft still too for gold. lol

Every Sabres game will be aired on either MSG or NBCSN. Is that what you are asking?
