  1. 7th straight road win and league-leading 14th road win of the season. I have to hand it to Karmanos, he build a machine in Rochester. They are relentless, none stop forecheck. I watched the game tonight with the Springfield feed and the announcer was saying he hasn't seen such a tenacious group all season. Said they were non-stop. The Amerks achilles heal is their power play. Ranked 22nd i believe going into tonight's game. Also, great play at the end for the empty net by Kozak. He couldve tried to shoot at the empty net twice, but decided carry it and muscle for possession, wasting even more time and then once he got freed he made a nice pass to Rousek.
  2. If things don't get better soon, i would send Kulich down. Let him play down the stretch, meaningful hockey and make a run at the Cup with Rochester.
  3. For a team thats about to miss the playoffs for 14 straight seasons. lol
  4. Kulich falling asleep on the 3rd Colorado goal, they just keep making the same mistakes. They get off to early leads and then one by one, shift by shift, guys start to take a couple of shifts off. Kulich has been playing good, but he needed to do better on Colton. But this happens every game, and not just by 1 or 2 guys, its half of the team. All those mistakes add up and thats how the Sabres get pounded after they have first period leads.
  5. They blew a 3-0 lead, a 4-2 lead and a 5-3 lead. I don't think they "came close" is something to cheer about. lol yeah i thought the same thing.
  6. Why would he want to come here?
  7. Exactly. And for comparison sake, Helenius after 28 games has 6 goals + 11 assists for 17 points. Kulich after his first 28 games in Rochester had 7 goals + 10 assists for 17 points.
  8. I think you guys being too harsh on Helenius. He's a elite playmaker at his age, playing in a legit mens league at 18. Who doesn't turn 19 until May. He's feisty, could see some of that in WJC when he went against his own age group, even vs Canada he mixed it up with Matthew Schaefer. He makes the game look easy, he seems to make plays effortless. In his last 5 games with the Amerks before going to WJC he had 6 assists.
  9. I wonder if him getting injured while doing summer training and then having another major injury after he returned, if Quinn had some fatigue and different approach to the summer then he normally would? He's been playing find now, but at the start of the season he was as rusty as it gets. He was struggling to even generate shots on goal. I thought he had a rough night in Dallas but overall he's been playing very good hockey as of late.
  10. I like Strbak a lot. And the Sabres are going to love him too. I bet he comes out this summer and signs. The kid is a winner because he's willing to do anything for the team like block a shot with any part of his body which is infectious and makes others around him play harder seeing it, is tough to play against, plays with grit, not afraid to mix it up. He's not the ONLY good player on the Slovakian team or Michigan State but they don't have too many. It's no coincidence his Slovakian team made the semi-finals at the U18, they compete at the U20s and his college team is ranked #1 in the nation. I've watched a lot of Komarov with Rochester and he has a very long way to go. His skating is very poor. Too poor even for the AHL. It gets him in too much trouble. And his offense from Quebec major junior has not translated one bit. Skating will hold him back. I don't know enough about Kleber yet to comment.
  11. Yup, sorry i saw it after i posted. Watched the clip then forgot to delete my message. But thank you!
  12. Where is this from? Just curious.
  13. I agree- minus the word "promotion". Don't think they'll be saying that tomorrow. It makes no sense for Adams to make a conference with media before a practice on a Friday to discuss that the team sucks. They hired Lindy to do that and he actually does a pretty solid job of detailing issues in their games and how they will improve. Im guessing he'll say hes stepping down, Karmanos will take over in the meantime, he'll stay on as advisor for Pegula's and to help out and the "promotion" text will come in a few months that Adams no longer just helping out but taking up a promoted higher management role.
  14. Dunleavy is terrible.
  15. You're putting this on UPL? Did you see how the defense was playing? Cmon.
  16. RIP. [*] Thank you for posting.
  17. If Lindy can get Samuelsson to get to play the right way, it'll almost be a game changing effect for the team. Lindy knows this.
  18. Isak Rosen is tied for 2nd in AHL in points with 13.
  19. The problem with trading early in the season and why its very rare, it's because if Sabres for example are ready to make a swing for a top-6 forward, and willing to tangle some promising prospects, the teams who are engaging in the talks is limited to like 5-6 teams who see early season struggles and realize future is more important then making a playoff run even though the season had just started. If the Sabres make a trade, it'll be with someone like the Ducks, Flyers, Sharks, Hawks. You're throwing up a big piece but are limited to what couldve been available in the summer or what could be available later in the season when more teams are willing to wave the white flag.
  20. lol yeah that was a interesting strategy
  21. All jokes aside, i thought the PP looked the best it's looked all season tonight. Tage had several looks, as did others. I thought for sure we were gonna score. Little bit bad luck, Oettinger is an outstanding goalie and Dallas is killed it at the faceoff circle. Sabres are better then last season but still pretty poor at faceoffs but tonight only 38%.
  22. That was the best game Owen Power has played in his professional career. Three assists and all were excellent plays. 4 blocked shots. Some good defensive moments too. Far from finished product but he's becoming a star in front of our eyes. 1st assist- rocket one-timer that finds Malenstyn. 2nd assist- Insane outlet pass to Zucker that set up McLeod. 3rd assist- give-n-go with Tage. Perfect pass back to his wheel house.
  23. lol me too. Sabres getting creative trying to recreate the RJ and Miller nights from seasons past when the arena sold out and felt like a playoff game.
  24. Exactly. In my opinion, Greenway has been our best player so far this season but i don't think Lindy has uncovered anything. Greenway had moments such as hes had this season for Granato as well. He also had moments like this in Minnesota as well. The issue with Greenway has always been consistency. This being his contract year, i wonder if it's Lindy getting that out of him or if it's his impending free agency?
