  1. I agree. Of the prospects that are not yet with the Sabres, Kulich is the player i am most excited about. How versatile he is, his shot, how he skates, the way he plays, he seems like the total package. 6 goals and 10 assists in 24 AHL games as a 18 year old is insane. For quick comparison, last season as a 19-year old in the AHL, JJ Peterka had 4 goals at Christmas break. Two teams get promoted. Norway has already qualified for promotion for the 2024 WJC.
  2. Probably the wrong thread for this but i'm not in the camp to trade Rosen, but i do think combining some of our assets and moving them for a more proven and ready player that fills our need. At some point it will become a numbers game. Theres just so many spots and realistically not all of these kids will pan out.
  3. Czechia up 5-2 mid-way through the second. The goalie for the Czech's Suchanek is the kid who was at Sabres dev camp last summer. He's playing great tonight. He's gonna get really tested in the third. Huge upset brewing though
  4. Czechia up 2-1 on Canada right now at the end of 1.
  5. If a spot opens up i would love to play again with you guys.
  6. If there’s room I am interested as well
  7. No one knows, this man just can’t help himself with cryptic teases but he’s almost always right. So we’ll see.
  8. Not sure what happened tonight with the plane in Columbus, but the Sabres flew right after the Flyers game to Columbus. You guys calling them cheap for bussing or whatever, the Sabres actually spend extra money on this preseason game because they got a hotel for the night. Normally, teams just travel the day of the game in preseason.
  9. 2nd and 3rd year in OHL 40+ goals each season 4th season in Kingston 23 goals in 24 games. Gets traded to Niagara and scores 25 in 38 games. Goes to the AHL, scores 25 goals in 60 games. First full year in the NHL, scores 17 goals in 51 games. Last season, second season in the NHL as a 23 year old, scored 41 goals in 74 games. That's elite goal scoring.
  10. His scoring stats speak for themselve. He was an absolute elite goal scorer in OHL, then in the AHL and has been lighting the league on fire ever since he came in. That's too much. Dallas ain't getting that from nobody if they trade him. The equivalent of 5 first round picks and a NHL roster player?
  11. Not every top prospect is the same. Power is elite level. So if they ask for Power and Sabres say no, Dallas is SOL? Cmon. Teams trading a player like Robertson don't have that leverage to demand the best prospect in the world of hockey.
  12. I don't think it'll happen either, but i also believe Rivet and Peters wouldn't mention it if they didn't have a really good lead on it. The way i see it is, similarly how when Bills signed JD McKissic but then he bailed before he signed the paperwork, it showed the Bills' cards, i think this (assuming you believe the rumor, and i do) shows Adams' cards a bit. If he inquired about Robertson, he had to have known before hand it would be a haul, but also shows he's willing to be aggressive and isn't married to all of these prospects for next 2-3 and let this rebuild slowly marinade. Maybe they strike out on Robertson for whatever reason, maybe price is too high, but i think Adams packaging a few guys for a bigger fish will be made sooner then later. No it would not. The price would be huge but to think it would have to be Owen Power included is silly.
  13. People say Kozak has the potential to be a elite defensive forward in the NHL and he's always been strong player in that area. One stat ive heard mention that still makes people in hockey impressed is his rookie season in the WHL he had 29 pts and was a +27. That is unheard of in junior hockey unless you're scoring 60-70 and more points. Kozak finally did find his scoring touch while facing off against the opponents top line each night. I'm not a big +/- stat guy but that is something i've heard mentioned several times by people when discussing Kozak. A season with Peca i can only imagine what will do for him.
  14. I just recently moved to Buffalo for work, and will look to make sure i can make this. I'm sharing season tickets with someone so i will see if those can be sold or used up by my friend so i can join you guys. Worst case i'll join pre or post game and just sit else where.
  15. I thought it was when Krebs played on the wing he struggled last season and was better at center. He's a pure playmaker. With his vision and passing ability, you're limiting him on the wing and he will never be that big time goal scorer. I'm excited to see what he can do this season after a whole off-season. That's harsh. The kid got traded and went straight to Rochester and then went to a poor Sabres team where he flipped between wing and center and had a few different linemates. Even still, he's a 21 year old who has just played 57 games last season and had 15 assists. He def had his downs as every rookie does, but all things considered 22pts in 57 games ain't that bad for a kid who had just turned 21 and basically got his first taste of the nhl (beside the few games he got in vegas).
  16. With his long term contract in Russia and with everything thats going on over there right now, i wonder how far Michkov will drop in this draft. Unless something drastic changes over there i can't imagine a team taking a chance on him too high. His deal with St Petersburg runs for 4 more seasons (3 after the draft). I'm a nhl draft junkie, but i haven't dug in too much yet besides the obvious guys at the top, but two of my favorite players so far going into this season for the draft is Leo Carlsson from Swedish club Orebro, he also scored in last weekends season opener, and Cal Ritchie from Oshawa.
  17. With this news and Joe Thornton remaining un-signed, it makes Craig Anderson as the last player remaining who was drafted in the 1990's. I read earlier on twitter some reporter from Montreal say Subban was only willing to play one more time with Montreal or compete for the Cup with Toronto, and once he was told neither of these two were an option anymore, Subban retired.
  18. Why do you say that? Lundkvist is pretty good. He was drafted in the 1st round for a reason. The conditional 4th is whatever. So basically you're trading a protected 1st for a 1st round grade guy you believe can play for you immediately.
  19. Starts Thursday.
  20. He made his North American debut last season in 42 games with the WHL’s Tri-City Americans but didn't get picked in the draft. Probably because theres not too much tape on him as previously he played in the Czech Republic second division and youth leagues. He really impressed people at the 2022 summer WJC with his performance in the QF upset win vs. the United States. He stopped 28 out of 30 shots, some of which incredible stops and was named player of the game. He won player of the game award twice at the summer WJC. However, Suchanek is 2023 draft eligible, but can skip it if he signs before the season starts. If he's unsigned when the season starts he will be back in the draft next june.
  21. I'm excited about what the data-driven hockey "nerds" will be able to come up with this year. The Sabres seem to have drafted well and things seem to be coming along nicely, but Adams has build a very impressive hockey department with Karmanos, Ventura, Galamini, and Barlowe. People around the hockey who follow this type of stuff closely say it's a incredible talented staff the Sabres have assembled.
  22. That's what i sense too, unless, Buffalo came up with a can't refuse offer for him to stay, which Adams wasn't going to do.
  23. JJP has played in two of these tournaments already, so i don't mind him missing. As for Quinn, i was surprised to see Holtz on the Devils roster.
  24. I mean it's only a 3-game tournament and teams don't always use their best 18 skaters. I think your expectations are just too high. That said, pre-covid JJ Peterka was one of the best performers. He put on a show in each game he was in. Last season, JJP and Jack Quinn were very good, but the best player was probably Brett Murray who then followed with his best season in his career and was steady during his call-up to the Sabres. I think the reason the Sabres prospects prior to 2018 not having success isn't because what they did in the tournament doesn't translate but because the Sabres just lacked good prospects. They have some really good prospects now and it's worth going to see them play imo.
  25. I just checked espn+ to see which games will they air tomorrow and no games are posted for tomorrow. lol
