The problem with trading early in the season and why its very rare, it's because if Sabres for example are ready to make a swing for a top-6 forward, and willing to tangle some promising prospects, the teams who are engaging in the talks is limited to like 5-6 teams who see early season struggles and realize future is more important then making a playoff run even though the season had just started. If the Sabres make a trade, it'll be with someone like the Ducks, Flyers, Sharks, Hawks. You're throwing up a big piece but are limited to what couldve been available in the summer or what could be available later in the season when more teams are willing to wave the white flag.

lol yeah that was a interesting strategy -
All jokes aside, i thought the PP looked the best it's looked all season tonight. Tage had several looks, as did others. I thought for sure we were gonna score. Little bit bad luck, Oettinger is an outstanding goalie and Dallas is killed it at the faceoff circle. Sabres are better then last season but still pretty poor at faceoffs but tonight only 38%.

That was the best game Owen Power has played in his professional career. Three assists and all were excellent plays. 4 blocked shots. Some good defensive moments too. Far from finished product but he's becoming a star in front of our eyes. 1st assist- rocket one-timer that finds Malenstyn. 2nd assist- Insane outlet pass to Zucker that set up McLeod. 3rd assist- give-n-go with Tage. Perfect pass back to his wheel house.

lol me too. Sabres getting creative trying to recreate the RJ and Miller nights from seasons past when the arena sold out and felt like a playoff game.

Exactly. In my opinion, Greenway has been our best player so far this season but i don't think Lindy has uncovered anything. Greenway had moments such as hes had this season for Granato as well. He also had moments like this in Minnesota as well. The issue with Greenway has always been consistency. This being his contract year, i wonder if it's Lindy getting that out of him or if it's his impending free agency?

Celebrini scores 7 min into his debut.

Yeah but not every 0-2 is the same. Bengals starting 0-2 and they can probably overcome it because they have proven talent. Someone like Carolina Panthers start 0-2 and they're toast. Sabres core and youth have never proved they can do it over the course of a season. A slow start, will only put them in a hole where they won't be able to get out of. And after getting steamrolled two games on neutral ice, it's hard to believe they will all a sudden start to click and stay above water in the near future. FWIW, in terms of Kings having jet leg, they are already on the east coast. They play in Quebec tonight and staying there until they come to Buffalo for the game.

Would you be happy if Pegula sold the team?

You would have to be living under a rock to vote NO. -
The Sabres are just a very flawed build team. Always a year too late. After the 2022/23 season they needed to restructure that entire fourth line. They wait until this summer. Only 9 teams scored LESS then the Sabres last season. Sabres didnt have a player in the TOP-93 in scoring last season (Jay Skurski tweeted this) and the Sabres let go of Jeff Skinner and his 24 goals. Without replacing him. I have no issues with dumping Skinner, they knew they had to dump him the second they did the fake coach search to convince Lindy Ruff to come work here. And by some reports it sounds like they tried but Martin Neces rejected them. They had no plan B? Plan C? It's not nuts and bolts. They are build very poorly and it shows. And mixing up the lines or playing some kids who have potential but are not ready yet, is not going to be the answer.
