I heard it mentioned many times. There hasn't been any kind of movement to get it changed until Hillary lost. Probably should plan ahead for these things instead of waiting until it's too late. The US is 50 states, not one.

Um, no. You do realize if it were a popular vote, the campaign strategies from both sides would have been completely different, as would the results. Why would I sign that petition? Not sure about Medicare and Medicaid, but my own personal health insurance gets worse every year, significantly. If it continues to get worse, then things haven't changed. Not sure the rate of decline of my coverage/costs can be any worse.

Tallon/Rowe like to get their re-signings done as soon as possible. They have a gauge as to what is going to happen with new contracts well before they're due to be signed. They were concerned about signing Kuli and didn't want it to be a distraction mid-season. They also needed the cap space to finish all the signings they did in the offseason. That's why Gudbranson was shipped off. They didn't let Campbell walk, he didn't want to come back. Campbell even said his wife wanted back in Chicago even if it meant a pay cut.

Florida traded Kuli because they were concerned about re-signing him.

We all know what would happen, and the responses it would get. Some just wouldn't admit it.

Maybe, just maybe, these guys might start scoring a little bit if they had some time to get used to certain linemates? Ya think? Instead of changing lines every half-period?

You give the Republican party too much credit. Or, too little depending on how you look at it. The others fell in line right before the election because it was better (for them) than getting Hillary elected. Now that Trump is in, things will change. The GOP is divided, remember the Tea Party movement? The party didn't fall in line then, and there is just as much dissension within the party now as there was back then.

Thanks, that's going to be a major consideration for next Thanksgiving. Hell, I might even try it after New Year's.

But, there are so many Republicans that don't like Trump that they will take any opportunity to point out his big government stances in an effort to appeal to their constituents. I agree that totalitarianism, on an extremely small scale, can take root in one presidency. But there is way too much turnover in Congress for it to gain traction. We know it, they know it. They're not going to take the time to even attempt it because they know it's going to gain any traction. If there is one benefit of having a large government structure, this is it. We're never going to see a Putin, or Berlusconi, or Hitler, or Mussolini. As much as they're trying to scare everybody into thinking that, it's not going to happen.
