Nick Bjugstad is back from his hand injury. Pure speculation on my part, but I can see the Panthers dealing him.

I agree. Race plays a part in every election. It played larger parts in the last two. But in the grand scheme of things, I'm with you that it isn't as much as some lead us to believe.
-
Um, wasn't the post you quoted regarding the 2012 election?
-
Either way, he was found not guilty and Obama took sides before a verdict was ever handed down.
-
Psst, this isn't a popular vote. Or did you miss the part when I brought up Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio? I didn't bring up the drop in the white vote because it has nothing to do with the point. This is about blacks voting for a black guy solely based on his skin color vs. white guys voting for a white guy solely based on his skin color............ and how the left thinks 2012 and 2016 are somehow different in that the whites are racists, but the blacks aren't. Just admit you're ignoring my point and you're trying to spin this in a direction in which it wasn't intended. I'm not searching for a campaign speech I saw on MSNBC in which I don't even know the location. If you think I'm lying then this discussion isn't worth having. Obama routinely took sides on many of the cop shooting. You can believe what you want about guilt, but Darren Wilson wasn't indicted. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This topic is getting away from my original point. I'm not going to be a part of any spinoffs. If you all can't see that the voters that helped to keep Obama in office in 2012 are just as racist as the people who helped get Trump into office.................. then you're blind. Of course there is the major double standard that the left thinks otherwise. It's been non-stop vitriol from the left directed towards Trump voters, being labeled as racist and bigots. Funny how they didn't see that as a problem when they re-elected Obama in 2012. Carry on with the spin-offs. I'll be hear to discuss my point.

His appointments weren't quite what Trump's are (Eric Holder notwithstanding). The rest of his tenure have had many racial moments that have done nothing but fanning the flames of racial tensions in this country. From disappearing at times for situations like Dallas where blacks were shooting cops, to magically appearing (several times over) when cops shoot blacks. Or taking sides before a verdict is handed down in situations like Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown while implying guilt by the non-black guy. His ties racial with Jeremiah Wright, Al Sharpton Jesse Jackson. His recent campaigning telling blacks that Republicans are going to have special bills to help bring them down. There are just a couple of examples, and it's my opinion so take it for what it's worth. I'm not saying Trump's term will be any better, it might be worse. But at this time, nobody knows. What I do know is that, in my opinion, Obama has done nothing to help bridge the gap of racial divide in this country, he's only done more to fan the flames.

If you can't follow the point of the discussion, I can't help you.

It doesn't matter how many whites voted, the point is the increased black vote covered the difference in the three states that won Obama his election, and helped Trump win his. Perhaps this can help you. Here's a quote, there are other relevant stats in there as well. And for the record, the only time in at least the last 50 years where more blacks voted than whites, percentage-wise, was 2008 and 2012. So there really was no increase in the white vote. https://www.brookings.edu/research/minority-turnout-determined-the-2012-election/ The rising black turnout can be viewed, to some degree, as continued strong support for the first black president. The downturn of white turnout might be attributed, in part, to a lack of enthusiasm for either candidate or politics in general during a sluggish economy. 6,680,000 LESS whites voted in 2012 than 2008. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2012/11/08/the_case_of_the_missing_white_voters_116106-2.html

2,000,000 more blacks voted in 2008 than 2004. 3,800,000 more blacks voted in 2012 than 2004. Obama won Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio by a TOTAL of 464,000 votes in 2012. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/michael-p-mcdonald/2012-turnout-race-ethnict_b_3240179.html http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/21/us/politics/21vote.html

It's a discussion about demographics, what the hell do you want me to say?
-
Yes, I do. Many voters on both sides vote solely based on race, religion and gender. Many voters voted for Trump because he is a white male. Many black voters voted for Obama simply because he's black. For some reason people seem to think these aren't the same when in actuality they are identical. Trump winning Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida was what got him the election. Obama won those three states by very small margins. Without them, Romney wins. Do you think blacks didn't play a part in that, voting solely on skin color?
-
No, I'm not saying it. Liberals, Hillary voters and the liberal media are saying it. If not directly, they sure as hell are implying it. No where did I say EVERY SINGLE. If I said 'every' somewhere in my argument, it meant most. 300,000,000+ people in this country, in almost every discussion possible 'every single' is just not possible. If this really needs to be explained..........
-
You don't need to wave the flag. The fact he won shouldn't show you something about our country, it should show you something about the state of our political direction. That's right, because blacks who vote for Obama because of his skin color can't possibly be racists. It's only the white man that can be racist. The ones that voted for Trump. Over 2,000,000 more blacks turned out to vote. You don't think that had any effect on swing states? I figured you were better than that, I guess I was wrong. No, the fact that the resident liberals on this board call them racists and bigots, the fact that the liberal media call them racists and bigots, and that the reason they voted for Trump is because he's a racist and a bigot........... But no, they weren't implying they voted for him because he's white. /sarcasm It takes a big man to ignore somebody but still have the nads to throw in some digs. Way to stick by your morals.

Good, now I can go back to not caring and make other plans for that weekend. Was having a discussion with a couple of friends about attendance, and basing attendance on tickets sold doesn't really tell us anything. I'm sure the league would make it difficult for anybody to get their hands in actual turnstile attendance.
-
Blacks came out in record numbers to vote for Obama. You can say they did it because he is black, just like the left is saying white males came out to vote for Trump. Except those that voted for Trump are racist and bigots. What does that make the Obama voters?
-
Does anybody know where I can find attendance stats based on turnstile clicks and not tickets sold? (If it actually exists)

The Sabres seem to be entering the zone with relative ease, the Flames are giving them all the room in the world. How the hell they don't have at least two goals at this point is beyond me.- 312 replies

I think the fact that I despise Hillary and Trump equally shows that I'm about objective as I can get. ;) I see this administration as being just as racist as the current one, just different skin colors.
-
Kool-Aid stock went through the roof this election cycle. Yup, racists and bigots. Skin color is what got Obama elected. Can we stop with the racists and bigots rhetoric?
