Feel free to jump in on that last question I asked. Funny there are so many people trying to convince me that Castro isn't such a bad guy but nobody can tell me why.
-
Want me to cut the sanctimony and condescension? Then don't start it. I'm pretty sure the adversarial relationship just might have had something to do with the fact that he wanted to nuke us, and was a lot closer to playing a part in that than is comfortable. I'm sorry I don't have a list of people ready for you that called him a hero and a revolutionary. If you can't take my word for it then don't take part in this conversation because I don't make a habit of lying. Facebook, Twitter, MSNBC........ You might want to start with CNN if you want to see the love. Tell me, since you know so much about the Cuban culture and their history of the last 60-70 years........ What, in particular did he do to be considered a revolutionary, visionary, or whatever you'd like to call him that doesn't make him a dictator and a tyrant? Feel free to answer that last question. And knock it off with your paint brush assumptions. I don't watch FOX news. I base my opinions on my own personal observations, and I'm quite certain I've had more interactions with Cubans of all ages than all of you combined.

Do you not watch TV? Or browse the internet checking out different media outlets? If you watched CNN today, you'd think the pope died. Hitler was also significant political figure for an extended period. What's your point? Castro was influential in the 50's until he came into power. Review his life as a whole all you want, the majority of it was heinous. I get a feeling you don't have a clue what Cubans think of him as a dictator and a tyrant. Do you know how close we came to nuclear war because of him? What about his complete neglect for human rights? Sex slaves, prostitution, imprisoning homosexuals.............. But, he was good for education in the '50's so I guess we should focus on the positive. I must have mistaken the Cubans celebrating non-stop in Miami for their appreciation for the education and not his death. Just because you don't agree with me doesn't mean I'm pushing anything.

This team has significantly more offensive talent than the two tank years, yet are still scoring less than those teams. If this is what happens when they lose a star player then there is a lot more to be worried about than Eichel's injury. For Nolan's AHL team to be outscoring a lineup with O'Reilly, Okposo, Kane and Ristolainen..................... there should be a red flag thrown up in Murray's office.

What I find funny is (NS this isn't directed at you) is liberals are willing to overlook Castro's relationship with the USSR and the global implications and still call him a hero and a revolutionary. But Trump talks to Putin..........
-
I'm basing my post on the opinions of the vast majority of the Cubans I know along with their relatives who still live there. You can have a socialist/Marxist society without a ruthless dictator, but that doesn't apply to Cuba. There is more to a lender than their social views. That's fine, you can applaud his Marxist stances, I can respect that. But don't overlook everything else.
-
Sorry man, I have to completely disagree with you. I've been down here for 22 years, I know countless Cubans many which still have many relatives in Cuba. If he was such a revolutionary, why are so many of them celebrating his death? His people have lived in squalor for decades and has been one of the least progressive nations in the world. If you looked at a picture today, you could put it next to the same picture from 1965 and there wouldn't be much difference. It's not a matter of what we think, he's not our leader. His Marxist views helped with education and health in the 50's, but like all Marxist societies, it's extremely short term and never works. Not even bringing up his nuclear relationships with the USSR, he was a textbook dictator the second he got a taste of power. People don't celebrate the death of revolutionaries.

His people will disagree.....

Fidel Castro is dead! There isn't a single person asleep in Miami, they're all out partying in the streets.

They only scored 153 goals in 14-15, they only scored 150 goals in 13-14. They've only scored 38 goals this year. (Shootout wins don't count as an extra goal)

Yeah, O'Reilly's sick.................................. He became nauseated when it finally sunk it that he signed on for 7 years.

2013-14 GPG: 1.83 2014-15 GPG: 1.87 2016-17 GPG: 1.81 He's beyond incompetent.

THIS is why UFA's don't come to BFLO. Because no matter how much smoke the GM's blow up their , the results end up being the same.
-
Murray won't do anything. He's as much of a as Goober is.
-
I never thought I'd see a worse team than the two tank years. I certainly didn't expect to see it from a team with more talent than said tank years. This is downright pathetic.
-
Well, that should do it. Sabres can't score two. Hell at this point they may not score one.
-
Caps guy on the ice on Sabres 5v5 "The Sabres aren't scoring 5v5 because they're not passing tape to tape, they're passing off the boards and just getting the puck out of the zone so they're not scored on"................... even they see it.
-
It's ludicrous for Trump to imply that the election is rigged............ until your candidate loses then its perfectly legit. How are we in a crisis already?
