  1. Let's not forget the fact that Nash has been the team. As much as we think the Sabres lack scoring, Vanek has been surrounded by players who can score goals. He hasn't been the complete center of attention like Nash has been for Columbus. He gets more opportunities to score than Vanek does. I thought the reason to make deals this offseason was to improve the team, not just swap similar players.
  2. I agree with the bogus trade rumors on twitter. I'm not on twitter but I see them talked about on here. But the fact that BFLO has 4 picks in the top 44 should be a hint that Darcy will make some kind of move by the end of Friday night.
  3. I'm with you. Way too many people grossly overrate some players who are on the market while seriously underrating the Sabres it would take to trade for them. I've seen some pretty radical trade ideas the last couple of days. Stafford, Sekera and two 1st rounders for Ryan? Seriously? Maybe Stafford and a 2nd. And as much as people think we need to completely obliterate the core to get anywhere, I don't think it's a smart idea to get rid of Stafford.
  4. Isn't that redundant? :P
  5. I think you guys are grossly overvaluing Brown.
  6. Actually, I think he's signed for one more year. But you get the picture. Why not pick up a couple of 35-38 year olds who can still put a few pucks in the net? We can all laugh at John Madden but the dude has come up big and been a big part of the Panthers this year. These guys understand their role, there is no ego getting in the way. In Leino and DR's defense, Leino was pretty high on the FA list before the season started. In fact at the time much of the media was saying it was one of the bigger signings of FA. I still think the contract was way too long and too $$$, but I don't think DR was wrong in going after him; when you consider his playoff performances and that's what Sabres fans had been calling for.
  7. Ah OK. Thank you.
  8. I can respect that. I like hearing other proposals whether I agree or not, you obviously put some thought into it. I agree with some of what you said. You've read my posts and I'm not big on focusing too much on a starting goaltender. I like Vanek too much to use him on a goalie. But that's just me. I'm not sure Nick offers enough offensively. But I bet Dad would love to see his sons on the same team. I wouldn't mind Clutterbuck. Looks like you're leaning towards more of a minor overhaul than I am. I think Foligno and Hodgson will bring more than we think. I agree, DR has no intentions lf doing anything with Leino so it's probably a moot point. Ya know what I'd really like to add? Some old character players. I think BFLO sorely missed some seasoned vets during their suck phase. I thought they needed to bring in one or two after Neidermeyer and Grier retired. Those types may be too old to offer anything significant, but almost all successful playoff teams have one or two resident old guys. I can tell you that Madden and Jovo have made a huge impact on the Panthers this year.
  9. Somebody mentioned an app? I didn't realize there was one for this board. I browse the full site on opera mini or the mobile vesion on the default android browser. What am I missing?
  10. Haha, I meant I was going to try and be an angel when I commented on your proposal. :flirt: I wouldn't give up Vanek especially for a Miller replacement. He has always been an important part of this team. He deserves to get a chance to shine when he's not the only one the team is depending on. He gets beat up too early in the season because all too often he's the only one putitng out. I wouldn't mind having Nick here but would he have a lot to offer? I don't think Ottawa would be willing to give him up for cheap. They would probably match an RFA offer. I would love to keep Roy if he accepted a demotion to the 3rd line. If we could put together 3 lines who contribute I bet he would shine. But if he's not going to accept that then he has way too much trade value to have limited playing time. Not sure if trading Gerbe is worth it. He is more valuable than anything in return we would probably get. His contract is very manageable for what we get out of him. I don't see Kassian coming back. The coaches obviously saw something they didn't like because DR doesn't go trading our prospects very often. Who knows, maybe it's the new DR. haha.
  11. Honeslty?
  12. I could go for something like this! Only one problem....................................... where's Vanek? Would you not re-sign Kaleta?
  13. Didn't realize he had a knee problem. He's not doing too bad in Peoria, 21-29-50 in 63 games. A shame a career he had going would get to that point. He won the Richard trophy in 2005 with 56 goals.
  14. Wow, I forgot about Cheechoo. I had to look up his stats to see what the hell happened to him. Man, his stats look so Boyesesque. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=31215
  15. Maybe this will help. Where else are you considering? http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/21005-ot-buffalo-transplants/
  16. The Selke is given to a forward with the best defensive forward. But, the Norris is not given to the best offensive defenseman. It is given to the best all around defenseman. Granted scoring is included in that, but I don't think Karlsson has shown he has standout defensive capabilities......... yet. In my opinion, he is more of a winger with a 'D' next to his name. No doubt he is an outstanding player, but all-around he is not. And my answer to the question is I'd rather have Myers. We've got 2 defenseman who are capable of putting up 50 points. I've seen a lot of improvement in Myers' game lately, he's still making mistakes but his physical presence has improved. For every mistake he makes, he makes two plays that make you go 'wow'. And to him it comes natural.

Oh really? Which track? I don't blame ya for hating those jet cars, haha. If you guys have run at our track over the last 15 years I'm sure I've seen you at one point or another. Hope you guys are doing well, I know some tracks that used to do well are hurting lately. Then again, there are some tracks that are still doing great. Nice thing aout running a track where you live is at least you get some time off during the winter. I bet it's a blast but I'm sure at some point you need a break. I know as a racer I'd hate to not be able to run in the winter. Of course with all the rain down here, we don't get to run very often in the summer time so it's not much different. Sounds like you have quite a schedule. Photography is always a learning experience no matter how long you've been doing it, haha. No different than drag racing. I bet those are awesome opportunities for great photography. Very diverse selection as far as landscapes. I'd love to get more into hiking and biking if I could just get out of SoFL. It's very monotonous down here. I'm seriously considering move to a couple of those states you mentioned. I've spent a lot of time in western NC, I know if you're a hiking enthusiast you pretty much have unlimited chances to see something different there every time you go out.

Been drag racing for about 15 years. Been to about 20 different tracks throughout the Southeast. Bracket racing, not heads up, for anybody who is familiar with it. Car is my avatar. Home track is Palm Beach International Raceway formerly known as Moroso. Where abouts?
