Doing a search earlier I also came across K2 and Mission. Most of these are new to me so I'm not too familiar with them. Although what you guys have said makes sense, a brand that's been making ice skates for decades would probably be better.

Listening to WGR.............. I rest my case. Had that been Miller it would have been 'Oh the defense let him down on the first goal' or 'He played good enough for them to win' or 'He's played back to back games so he's a little tired'. If Miller hadn't played in over a week that would definetely be an excuse. Enroth wasn't great but the double standard make me sick. Don't know why Enroth is the whipping boy here, the team was downright awful in the first period when the game was decided.

I see they've got seven different models. Is their base model really cheap? I know you get what you pay for, just wondering if the lower models of a brand name is better than middle of the road of a lesser brand. Anybody else?

No, he hasn't been that bad. Two of those three goals weren't his fault. He's the easy whipping boy when the rest of the team sucks. If Miller were in net Paul would have been lambasting the rest of the team for another lost faceoff that lead to a goal or another turnover that led to a goal. Everybody is happy because when they lose tonight they have somebody to blame it on.

I'm looking for recommendations for a new pair. Haven't played roller hockey for years, and decided to go down to our local rink and get back into it. The set I had broke within minutes so I'm looking for a new set. I don't want anything high $$ until I know I'll stick with it. What brands should I look at for a hockey/recreational skate?

That's what I was thinking. But Leino hasn't necessarily held up his end of the bargain, for instance agreeing to sign as a center and chagning his mind two weeks into the season. If the team opted against surgery I want to know what happened between now and the end of last year. If the team decided against surgery, surely them and Leino came up with some sort of workout and rehab regimen for the offseason so certainly one weeks worht of training camp would have fueled his inury if he was keeping with his routine. Unless he did legitimately get injured by a hit, freak fall, turned it the wrong way, whatever........ during training camp. If that's the case fine. Case closed. But this situation wreaks of laziness and lies.

Did Leino get hurt during "training camp" ? Or is this an injury he completely blew off in hopes of using it as an excuse to skip the year?

Ennis thinks he should have been responsible for checking Parros? Are you kidding me? The problem is the coach making people think the smallest player in the league is at fault for not checking 6'5" 240# Parros.

I'm so sick of hearing how tired they are. Guess what, 29 other teams are in the same boat!!! Just once I'd love to hear one of the Sabres say 'I'm out of excuses, is there anything else you want to ask me?'.

Eery how similar these two teams have been. They both have only had two good games so far this year. One was opening night for both teams in which they kicked ass, the other was offensive explosions in comeback wins............ on the same night. Everything else in between has been absolute garbage.

What's equally embarrassing is the fact that the period where the shots on goal was 15-1 wasn't the period they got blown out. It was the other two periods where BFLO outshot them 30-17 but got outscored 5-1.

Should have started Enroth so everybody could place 100% of the blame on him.

Haha, I'm not saying money forms an opinion. I'm just saying that athletes are paid accordingly and Leopold performs to his expectations. He does well sometimes, he makes mistakes sometimes; is why he gets paid what he does. I think he is a pretty good bang for the buck. Would it be nice to have six $6mil/yr talent D-men? Sure. But that's not possible and never will be. Every team has to have 3-4 mediocre D-men. Looking at the big picture, Leopold plays his role well. He's not doing well lately but I don't think it will last. And Vanek might be overpaid in some people's minds, that is a different situation. Leopold wasn't given an enormous contract because an offer needed to be matched.

Ah OK. So use the wing sauce if you're not in a mood to mix a good sauce. Use the original as a base to make your own by adding butter and vinegar. Me too!!

Just saying for his contract I think we get what should be expected out of Leopold. He's a slightly above average D-Man. No team can afford to have more than one or two star D-Men and still have a supporting cast.

What is the difference between 'original' and the two different wings sauces?

Thanks everybody for the suggestions and thanks to Swamp for adding those posts. I didn't realize there was a wing thread already or I would have looked for it and not started a new one. Looks like the general concensus is Frank's and butter. If Frank's already has vinegar as the main ingredient that probably settles that. Might add more if needed. I think that's part of the reason the wings down here suck so bad, I think they make their own sauce and use very little if any vinegar. I don't have a full size fryer but I do have a Presto Dual Daddy which is about as big as you're gonna get without actually having a full size countertop rectangular fryer. I just wanted a starting point and it sounds like it's easier than I thought. I fry stuff all the time so it shouldn't be too bad.

Unless McNabb has regressed substantially in Rochester this year, I don't see why he shouldn't be playing up here. I thought he played very well last year, better than I thought he would. I don't get the disdain for Regehr, he's a damn solid D-Man. As far as Leopold, he's had a few bad games this year. Based on his past, I think it will take a lot more to show that he isn't up to the level any more. I think it's just a bad stretch of games, I'm not concerned that it will last all year. I think many people are setting the bar of your above average D-Man a little too high. Watch some of the other games. Overall Leopold and Regehr are better than you think. To avoid straying off topic, Leopold's short slump combined with his salary doesn't even come close to being compared to Myers yet.

I'm thinking of making my own chicken wings. Down here in SoFL I've tried so hard to find any place that has wings even remotely close to real Buffalo wings. One place came close but they sold out and their new wings are just as bad as the rest. Hard to believe I have never tried to make my own. Anyways, it's really hard to find any place down here that uses a wing sauce that is your typical tangy vinegar/butter based sauce that we're so used to in BFLO. Most places nowadays just add as much jalapeno and pepper to burn your mouth for minutes after you eat it but have absolutely no flavor. I'm just looking for a basic wing sauce that most small BFLO restaurants use. Basically just general proportions and hot sauce brand to mix with. I can work with a general recipe and tweak from there. Yes, I can Google it but I figure I'd get a better answer here. I prefer small crispy wings, not a fan of the fat meaty type (but that really doesn't have anything to do with this. :D) Thanks! ;)
