Without looking at the rosters, I find it hard to believe Edmonton wouldn't protect Letestu and Florida wouldn't protect MacKenzie. But, I'm pretty sure Florida will have to leave either Lou or Reimer unprotected. I doubt Spuddy Gallant would pass on either of those guys.

Here's an incredible stat I came across. Say what you want about +/-. Lee Stempniak finished 3rd for the Hurricanes with a +2. Defensemen Faulk, Tennyson, Hainsey, Hanifin and Dahlbeck were the five worst on the team between -12 to -19. Second year defensemen Slavin and Pesce were 1st and 2nd on the team with +23 each. Thanks for all that. Makes more sense now. I mentioned Gillislee because it seemed like they didn't match his offer because of a couple mil difference. He seemed to be a nice fill in last year.

I don't understand the cap in football. But I just don't get not signing Gillislee and Watkins. Then wasting the first two picks on positions you already had covered. Are the Bills really strapped for cash? Am I missing something?
