  1. A fitting end to a ###### season. Cut out the cancer Darcy!!!!!!
  2. Nothing like stepping it up like a superstar goaltender is supposed to do.
  3. Just when you need your superstar goaltender to step up.................... ah nevermind.
  4. I tend to think it has something to do with the fact that the team as a whole is doing well. I'd still like to see him traded in the offseason, but we bitch enough when they're losing, no sense in doing so when they're winning. ;)
  5. Eight Panthers have made their NHL debuts this season, seven of them forwards.
  6. Really? Somehow I picture the Sabres as the antithesis.
  7. Just seems to me like their personalities are coming out, they're showing some emotion like they care. Almost like they've been stifled up til recently. Maybe the team is just stepping up in response to a real leader taking control.
  8. I don't care how much talent he has or doesn't have, that kind of player you don't let go. When I talked to friends in Dallas, read other forums and listened to hockey shows......... NOW I see why they were all pissed that of all players to let go the Stars traded him. Whatever Darcy has planned for this team, signing him to an extension is paramount.
  9. I like the way he mentioned Chara and Van planning the post game salute, calling Van a leader for the team like he was the 'go to' guy. I hope Ott was serious when he said he wants to stay in BFLO and he's trying to convince Vanek to do the same.
  10. Great game by Miller, he looked awfully calm tonight.
  11. If there's one good thing about the possibility of sucking next year, we may not have to stomach as many of these nauseating NBC games.
  12. Miller needs to start so Freeman can tell us how Enroth only beats bad teams. :P
  13. Broduer currently on longest losing streak of his career, stuck on victory #666.
  14. THERE'S where my posts went.
  15. You're right. You can't judge the types of shots taken on a goaltender. You can't add a stat for goals that a goaltender had no chance on. But, over the course of a full schedule, all goaltenders are eventually going to face a simillar prcentage of deflections, screen, tips, etc. I don't think a goaltender can be compared to the rest of the league solely on his W/L record because the best goaltender in the world isn't going to win if his team can't score. This also applies to GAA. W/L and GAA is dependent on goals scored by is team. However, I think save percentage is a relevant stat when comparing goaltenders. I think it is even more relevant when comparing goaltenders on the same team.
  16. How do you compare goaltenders?
  17. Thank you. Hell, even the Panthers have a top line so the youngins can grow. They're all injured, but they have one.
  18. Need to build around something.
  19. Have a great afternoon.
  20. 15 goals in 30 games is equivalent to a 41 goal season. In my opinion, these four players should be expected to score 35+ goals a season. 15 in 30 isn't much of a step up. Vanek had 7 goals in the last 7 games two years ago to get BFLO into the playoffs. The fact is, we can both cherry pick stats to prove our points. Either way you look at it, neither player has any distinct advantage over the other. They aren't Crosby, Stamkos or Ovechkin. They are both second tier scorers. Of these four players, Gaborik is significantly better in terms of GPG average while Nash, Vanek and Parise are all very close. I think it's highly hypocritical that you're sitting here telling me that Enroth's latest victories aren't exactly quality victories because teams laid back because the Sabres dug themselves in a hole, yet you hold last years losses against Enroth even though the rest of the team was going through it's worst stretch of games in their history. The majority of the games he played he was hung out to dry and somehow he still managed to finish with a higher save percentage than Miller. I'm having a really hard time considering that 'completely falling off the table'. Do you realize at one point last year in an 8 game stretch Enroth had a .924 save percentage yet his record was 0-5-2? Those losses weren't his fault. If you're going to justify every win by Enroth based on different circumstances, you need to do the same for his losses. You can't have it both ways. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's all keep in mind this 25 goal line that we're speaking of is Vanek's worst case scenario, but Lucic's best case scenario. He scored 30 goals two years ago, I can't see him ever repeating that. I can't see him ever being more than a 20 goal scorer. Vanek on the other hand can usually be counted on to score at least 30. ( I really wish this forum didn't combine posts) And yes, I understand Lucic brings more to the table in his physical play.
