  1. It's over. Kings can't score three. Hell, at this pace they won't have three shots until halfway through the game.
  2. I agree. As good as Rask looked, Boston didn't win just because of him. That was a team effort from top to bottom.
  3. 1/2 his age, plus 7 years. If he's 32, 16 is half of that, add 7. In this case the best age is male-32 female-23. I've heard these studies referenced many times over the years. I'll have to look up where they came from.
  4. Studies have shown that the best age of a man for a woman is 1/2 his age, plus 7. Don't know how, or why they decided to study that but I've noticed it holds true in many cases.
  5. So you're saying the entire team forgot how to win because Bylsma stuck with a better goaltender? As has been noted, the Pens would have been playing golf last week if it weren't for Vokoun. Fleury is one of the most overrated goaltenders in the league, they're going to have a hard time finding him a home next year. Vokoun had one bad game, he played great all throughout the playoffs and finished with a .933. Save %. Ghost, this wasn't directed at you, but the couple others who mentioned it. ;) And for the record, Vokoun was signed specifically for this reason.
  6. Yup. Fleury has been pitiful the last four playoffs. After last year I think he was on thin ice, that's why they brought in Vokoun. I've heard the whole organization pretty much had their minds made up that if he didn't come through that Vokoun would be in for good.
  7. To me, nothing is more satisfying that seeing that whiny Prima donna get humiliated on national TV. Cindy continued to run his mouth, throw cheap shots and cry like a little baby all series. As the NHL's Golden Boy, the league has to be awfully embarrassed. If his career is cut short because of concussion issues, he has nobody to blame but himself. Bylsma is done and I think Shero needs to go as well. You don't go trying to buy a Cup at the deadline of that season. You get rental players to fill some holes left open by injuries. You don't go picking up guy like Jokinen who has a huge ego, and two team captains in Iginla and Morrow. This types of moves throws off the chemsitry of the team. And if he was confident about the moves he's made with the team he had prior to the deadline, he wouldn't have had to make those moves in the first place. Now, they have serious UFA issues during the offseason and very little money under the cap to fill those spots. That is poor planning, Shero has left them in a bad position for the next couple of years. I think Vokoun earned himself a starting spot for next year. Gotta feel bad for him, he was great for games 1,3 and 4. He just happened to finally get starting minutes at a time when the Pens forgot how to play.
  8. Good points. Losing Richards hasn't helped. I just think it's grasping at straws to blame Regehr for their issues.
  9. Ah OK. Thanks. That makes sense. Seems unfair for the teams still in the playoffs, I thought they had to wait. Now that I think about it, I remember a coupleof trades last year during the playoffs. Gonchar was 27th in the league in TOI this year. Not bad for an old man.
  10. Dallas acquired the rights to Sergei Gonchar. Call me stupid, but aren't trades supposed to wait until after the playoffs?
  11. The Kings offense has been nauseating at best for the last few years. Tough to blame your least offensive defensman for that when he was just added to the team. The Kings have won 6 straight series with determination and goaltending. Their luck is finally running out, you can only go so far without an offense. Blaming Regehr is the easy way out.
  12. Only time will tell. Success tends to keep teams together regardless of location. I think Tallon has done more for this team than others from the last 10-15 years. I think he plans to fill in a couple of holes, long term this time, this off-season. Curious to see what he does.
  13. Trading players before they become UFA's? Tallon has built this team through the draft like no other in it's history.
  14. That's a bad stat when you're limited by the size of you arena. Look at % at home and away. They're both higher than the Sabres. Most of the big names never got to free agency.
  15. Not really. The Panthers have an extremelly bright future, and it's not far away. Check out the attendance stats. There are quite a few teams in worse shape than the Panthers.
  16. Me too! The kid's a monster and still growing. Can't wait to see him and Huberdeau take over that team.
  17. The Panthers ended up getting Bjugstad in the 1st round of that draft. And Horton and Campbell were traded because they wanted out. Tallon came in and said they're rebuilding, and asked every one of them who wanted to stay and who wanted to leave.
  18. So are coupons.
  19. I was sucking on a Werther's when I read this. No lie! The caramel filled ones.
  20. He looks brown to me.
  21. I'm not the one who brought up Gerbe. If 3yr/4.3 mil is the going rate for a short term hot streak, I'd hate to see what the going rate is for somebody who hasn't had one. Funny, his contract was supposedly based on a short term hot streak, yet he followed up the next season with almost the exact same PPG. Bickell has 9 points in 15 playoff games. Let's see him keep up that pace for 2 years, then we'll talk. There's a reason he's only played 220 games as a 27 year old.
  22. Darcy didn't pick up Gerbe based on a short term hot streak. Gerbe isn't making what Bickell will based on a short term hot streak when he gets an overinflated contract. When Has Bickell been effective over a long period? At least use the same standard. If you're going to compare, compare Bickell to an overpaid UFA not somebody who was already with the team from the beginning. This isn't about Gerbe, this is about overpaying a UFA. Edit: Nevermind, it's just not worth it. I've never liked children and I have no intentions of changing that now.
  23. I'm glad you're not a GM. Last thing anybody needs is somebody making illogical knee-jerk reactions based on a short term hot streak.
  24. Bickell averages 2 points more than Gerbe over an 82 game season. I don't see the attraction.
  25. Yes I am. Gerbe is already on the team, we don't need to add more 3rd liners. The crux of my point lies in the logic (or lack thereof) of signing sombody to an inflated contract based on a short term hot streak. Bickell will sign for more than the 3yr/4.3mil that Gerbe signed for and whoever signs him will be disappointed around the all-star break when he has 5 goals. Look at the career statistics, Bickell and Gerbe are very similar and Bickell plays on a more offensive team.
