  1. I'm surprised that RJ doesn't take these games off if he wants to run a limited schedule. At least NBC has their backups in tonight since their 'stars' are taking the night off from a long weekend.
  2. So, approximately 1.5 goals per game for Miller and 1.3 goals per game for Enroth. Considering the Sabres are averaging 1.97 goals per game, who is the lucky goaltender that gets all the support?
  3. Maybe this link works..... http://www.extraskat...pos=G&min_gp=50 17th among goaltenders with 26+ games played.
  4. How is his run support compared to sayyy....... Enroth?
  5. How is Miller doing this year in 5v5 situations?
  6. We've covered this already.
  7. That would be interesting. Halak has had a good year or two, but one of them was under a system that would make any goaltender look good. I think it would depend on how he looks behind a team like the Sabres. That would be the telling tale. I wouldn't object to sticking with the hot goaltender. If Halak has a couple of good games, stick with him. When Enroth gets his chance and he puts together a couple of good games, stick with him. Unless they don't plan to hold on to Halak, then give Enroth the minutes and let's see if he can handle a 75/25 work load.
  8. Everybody's invited! Come on down. If you all want to get out of the cold and thaw out, you better hope Miller gets traded soon. I only have a 3 bedroom so sleeping arrangements might be tight. Or we could just go over to Pegula's house, he's got plenty of room. :D
  9. We'll talk about that if/when it happens. If Miller is traded Enroth will have his chance to sink or swim between now and then. If Enroth proves he can do it, Ullmark won't replace him. If Enroth can't do it then it seems pretty simple.
  10. I've got Game Center down here so I have no choice. Are people in BFLO forced to watch NBC too?
  11. I agree with you. It lost its luster by scheduling so many. I wasn't around Saturday to see that game so I recorded it. After listening to all the hype about being 'special' and then seeing the pregame ceremonies, I just erased it. If they're trying to promote the game, they're laying it on a little thick.
  12. That makes a little more sense. B-)
  13. After these outdoor games, not sure if I can take any more of the NBC clowns.
  14. I'm glad we got that straightened out. Neither of us agree with each other, and it's mostly based on opinion. Only time will tell. Really? The goal support for Enroth average per game ranks them the 2nd worst in NHL history in terms of GPG average. And you're going to hold that comment against him? By the way, Enroth did hold a shutout through regulation in a game and the team couldn't even score a goal for him. How may does Miller have?
  15. My point was, what you saw from Miller last night, you won't see the rest of the year. And if he sticks around you won't see next year either. Nor did you see it the three previous years. All these criticism of Enroth's weaknesses and downfalls, yet he still has comparable numbers to Miller, a so-called 'elite' goaltender by some on this board. With comparable stats, and Enroth not playing up to par by some board members' standards, can you imagine how good Enroth will be when he has the opportunity to fine tune his skills?
  16. You're so good at making people's points for them, why don't you tell me?
  17. It doesn't really matter............
  18. Nope, that's not what I said.
  19. How many Cups have the Rangers won in the last 8 years? Vancouver? 'Can' is the key word. After the Olympics, he 'won't'. If you don't agree with that, we can just stick the last three years and go with he 'hasn't'. We can't some people understand this?
  20. Tell me what his goal support is. Are those numbers lying? Didn't stop you from throwing in another dig.
  21. Yes, it's all visual up to this point. We know he has his weaknesses, so does Miller. But he also has his strengths. As long as Enroth continues to put up a comparable save percentage I have no reason to doubt he can replace Miller. Miller's hot streak is over now, he's coming back down to Earth.
  22. Now that my caffeine is finally kicking in, I see that the sample size point was already made. My other point still stands though. :P Yes, I do. There is no way to tell, if the sample size argument is going to be used, how good he is until he gets at least a full year of 60 starts under his belt. They can plan ahead in the meantime. It's beating a dead horse because there are at least three threads with the same discussion going on.
  23. Ah, I get it. So his save percentage over a 3 year span isn't enough, yet everybody seems to be able to conclude that he isn't good enough. Regardless of what you think he can do, up to this point he hasn't done any worse than Miller. The sample size argument has been used for the last two years, and yet that save percentage thing still hasn't changed. Huh. Nobody can prove what he can do, but the save percentage is the biggest telling tale of what he HAS done. The sample size argument is a weak argument for those that just don't want to admit that Miller isn't that great. If save percentage can't be used at this point then NO other stat can be used at this point. Analytics is just some desperate attempt to find some way to make one side look better regardless of how deep you have to dig to find some stat that looks more enticing. You can dig all you want, the overall numbers don't lie. If sample size wipes out the validity of a particular stat, it wipes out the validity of ALL stats. We're beating a dead horse here.
  24. They're not drastically different. Two different goaltenders, with the same GM, coach and team in front of them. It can't get any straighter.
  25. Save percentage, enough said. In the last 3 years total, Miller-.918 Enroth-.916 One bad game out of nine and all of a sudden Enroth's back in the fans doghouse. It's probably Hecht's fault that the Sabres aren't scoring for Enroth.
