Is anyone here an Miller hater? Can you please identify yourselves? Funny how that works, isn't it?
-
We were referencing the first 73 games of each goaltenders' career. I don't think we've addressed any historical facts in that regard. I've been saying Miller is an average-above average goaltender since day one. I've already mentioned it three times this week. Do I need to mention it again?
-
Which historical facts?
-
That's what made it so funny. :P I hear ya. Ima have dessert, be back later.

Really? I was last in line of about four posts talking about grammar and you're going to quote mine as 'clogging' things up? How do I have something for Freeman? Note the smiley, it's was a light-hearted response to somebody that made a remark about proper grammar and then went on to use a word that doesn't exist. Man, this place needs to lighten up a little bit. Well, A LOT bit.

I thought it was just me, but I don't think so. Between the five channels, I haven't seen more than two channels airing Olympic coverage at the same time. I've also noticed that late at night they reply what they aired at early evening, not what they aired in the morning and afternoon when people might have been at work.

Again, "innit"?
-
Hell yeah, that would be a perfect schedule. Only change I would make is to spend a day or two in the mountains.

Curling has got to be the best sport to be involved in for the Olympics. All these other sports, if you fall on a jump, trip on a routine, flinch your arm on the starting line.......... you're done. All that time, travel, money wasted because of one silly mistake. In curling, no matter how bad you are, you get to play no less than 10 matches at well over an hour a piece over the course of almost two weeks. You get a chance to take it all in, enjoy the Games, explore the city (what little Sochi has provided). Plus, no major injuries.

No matter what I say, it won't be good enough for you. If you're just going to keep telling me what I think after I answer your questions, what's the sense? How about I just give you my password. :P

I've been saying this since the day I got here. Most recently in this thread not too long ago.
-
I don't think the majority wants him out. I think the majority knows that Miller wants out and are wanting to part ways ASAP to get the most in return. I wouldn't want Miller off this roster under certain circumstances.

The sad part about all this focusing on 'unfair' criticism of a long-time Buffalo Sabre, is the double standard. Because all too many people that aren't happy with the few that pick on Golden Boy won't hesitate to turn around and do the exact same thing to other Sabres, past and present. Why is it that some seem to think that all Sabres fans need to bow down to Miller because they think he's God?

So you're saying that not all short guys are limited by their size.

The point is, if Hasek was really that much of a prized possession before getting his NHL chance, there would have been much more going back than Ruuttu or Beauregard. You can choose whichever you want, but you're arguing over details (even though Beauregard technically was the other part of the trade) and completely ignoring the point. And no, I didn't say Enroth is going to turn into the next Hasek. I said you chose a poor comparison because when Hasek was Enroth's age he wasn't an NHL starter either.

Amount of snow needed to close schools.

Nice post. I'm gonna leave that one alone. :P
-
Comparing Hasek to what Enroth has done is like comparing EJ Manuel to JIm Kelly. It's a pointless comparison because at 25 there wasn't any indicator that Hasek would turn out to be who he ended up being. If he was CLEARLY so good, then the Blackhawks must have thought pretty highly of Stephane Beauregard.
-
You were comparing Enroth, at 25, to Dom. Dom at 25 was a backup and was traded for a practice goaltender. Will Enroth be Hasek? Probably not. But I was comparing apples to apples, you were comparing apples to televisions.
-
So much for ignoring me huh?
-
Neither of us have said that he isn't a good goaltender. If anything I have stated several times, in fact, that I think he is an above average goaltender and one of the most consistent in the league. It's the rest of you that paint anybody who isn't a Ryan Miller Fan Club member as haters. The hostility that comes from these threads isn't as a result of hatred, it comes from everybody else painting it as hatred.
-
I agree with all that.
-
I'm glad I recorded it. It was quite impressive to see.

US Women's curling got waxed yesterday with a 7 point end. Never been done before in Olympic history. They're 0-3, not looking too hot.
-
All things considered, he hasn't looked that bad. He started the year off with a couple of injuries but he's been bouncing back. Not bad for a 57 year old who didn't even strap on the pads until training camp.
