  1. I can see your point. But the league has had it's highs and lows in terms of scoring in the last 80 years so becoming the lowest scoring team since 1936 is pretty telling. Now there have been many years where scoring was lower if you want to go by overall scoring.
  2. The magic number is 151.
  3. http://www.whec.com/news/stories/S3373619.shtml?cat=565 Updated: 03/24/2014 5:31 PM Created: 03/24/2014 5:30 PM WHEC.com News10NBC has learned that Buffalo Bills’ Hall of Famer Jim Kelly flew to New York on Monday to consult with doctors there about his new battle with cancer. Jim’s wife, Jill, wrote in a blog that her husband’s cancer has returned and is now starting to spread. This weekend, Jim's oldest daughter, Erin, posted a picture on Instagram of the former Bills quarterback and her in a hospital bed. She said, "Watching the Syracuse game with daddy. He's my buddy! Love him so much!” On Monday afternoon, Jill shared a picture on Instagram and Twitter of her wearing her husband's cross. She wrote that Jim "took off his necklace and handed it to me before heading in for yet another MRI. Now it's around my neck. A reminder that because of the cross, because of what Jesus did, we have hope. Hope when you hear them say ‘the cancer is back’, because God is bigger than the cancer." Jim's wife also said he is tentatively scheduled to undergo surgery this Thursday. Friends and former teammates visited with Kelly at the hospital late last week.
  4. If it means anything (and it probably doesn't) I always thought the Around the NHL thread was about transactions, injuries, updates, cool videos/pictures and other pertinent information that doesn't usually generate much discussion. Reason being if we brought up 3 or 4 topics like this that might generate discussion it would make for a really discombobulated thread.
  5. Leino had 2 goals in 3 minutes against the Canucks once.
  6. Compliment and carry are two completely different words. Scoring lines need scorers (plural) to work, not scorer (singular).
  7. I can understand the frustration. But Kassian doesn't need certain types of linemates to play his game. Hodgson does and he doesn't have anybody to compliment his game right now. I'll reserve judgement for when he has 1st or 2nd line quality forwards on his line because that's who he was brought in to play with. Deluca's obsession with Kassian is............. well, I don't know what it is. He had one standout game. He'll never repeat it.
  8. I guess I'll never understand the hatred towards Hodgson.
  9. I think the Sabres should go after 30+ goal scorers with speed that have a defensive upside as well. After all, they're a dime a dozen.
  10. Wasn't it just a couple of years ago the rumors were flying about Kessel getting moved because he was too one dimensional and was notorious for disappearing for several games at a time?
  11. Goaltending depth...... My how quickly things change.
  12. How is he limited? He's a scorer, don't tell me he needs to hit. Nevermind, this isn't really thread related.
  13. I highly doubt Enroth would pretend to be injured in order to tank. Neuvirth, I don't know what happened to him. But I did read on other forums from Caps fans that he is rather notorious for having phantom injuries and sicknesses. Whether that is true or not, I'm not going to hold against him. But in all seriousness, BFLO has very little talent on the ice, but they did so by making legitimate trades that the NHL approved. The Oilers on the other hand have a team of upper 1st round (if not 1st overall) picks and a ton of talent. They have yet to improve for several years now. They have a coach who looks like he isn't even capabale of handling a cub scout meeting much less a pro hockey team.
  14. But it sure would give them some realy nice building blocks to work around in order to accelerate this rebuild. No matter who they sign, nobody can deny the fact that every team needs some veterans. Why not bring in the ones that (supposedly) really wanted to be here?
  15. Does anybody know how/when Neuvirth actually got hurt? Haven't heard much about anything.
  16. Sabres save percentage continues to rise (.938 combined since Miller trade), Miller is only .916 since the trade. Maybe BFLO's defense is better than we think.
  17. You're probably right. I should have double checked.
  18. I could have sworn tomorrow's Sabres game was @ 5PM. Was it changed or am I losing it?
  19. That's when I stop laughing.
  20. The drama, the trainwreck, the hype.................... he fits in perfectly with the Jets. He's a loser, he is a highly overrated passer, and he isn't a leader. The Jets won't be anywhere near the playoff hunt if he has anything to do with it.
