  1. I guess I wasn't aware that after 18 months a player is no longer considered a repeat offender. http://www.usatoday....hwedel/7403129/ Murray had no prior disciplinary action, but Rinaldo, who scored his second goal of the season earlier in Sunday's game, has a history with the league. He was fined $5,000 for a late hit and a slew-footing infraction during a February 2012 game against the New Jersey Devils. Eight days later, he was suspended for two games for charging Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson. Those incidents fall outside the 18-month period that would make Rinaldo a repeat offender, resulting in a higher per-game cost of any suspension. But they would be factored into a decision on whether to suspend him.
  2. I bet some of these guys would have stuck up for Ruhwedel and Lieuwen tonight.
  3. Sorry, didn't know what that was referring to initially. Wasn't even sure it was Rosehill until I started posting and went back on the DVR.
  4. I didn't think I would care much about the rest of this season, but this game really angers me. Drane might be right, only other reason I can think nothing happened is that Nolan is worried about more injuries. Nolan didn't seem too enthusiastic during the post-game in regards to retaliation. If there's one good thing about Rolston it's that he wouldn't have taken this.
  5. Glad to see Hamilton tell it like it should be.
  6. Weber saw the whole thing with Lieuwen, he was in the crease when it happened.
  7. I expect teammates to stick up for each other. They've been playing wth effort up til now whether they win or not. Somebody deserved to get their ass kicked tonight. I'm a strong Nolan supporter but he ###### up tonight. He's going to get a reputation of being soft and the team will continue to get run over.
  8. This is a game where the Sabres needed the old Ted Nolan. Rinaldo with two dirty hits, Lieuwen got ran twice, the second time a blatant elbow to the head (Rosehill?) and Lieuwen has had concussion issues. Where the hell was everybody!?!?! What do they have to lose? That was a pathetic display tonight against a dirty team that had no reason to play dirty. Probably the worst game I've seen all year on many accounts.
  9. Neither do I.
  10. I don't ever want to be accused of changing the subject in any thread, ever again. Neither of those requires going through another season like this one.
  11. Thank you for a decent adult response. I respectfully disagree, I'm not willing to take that chance and see either one come down with a career ending injury and all this go to waste. But, that's just my opinion. I can see where you are coming from. Though with Nolan coaching, if there is even a slightest improvement in talent added during the offseason I just don't see this team finishing in the bottom 3.
  12. That's snark? My god.......... why don't you show me where I was complaining about the direction of this team. Really, I'm touched that you all feel so inclined to gang up on me. I simply answered a question by saying I didn't want to tank again and the rest of you come running like you're ready to jump me. Not sure what the hell got into this group tonight. Doesn't seem like it's worth sticking around for.
  13. Whether management is setting this team up for another 30th place finish is completely irrelevant to this discussion. The original post was whether or not WE want to see it. Sorry if I'm trying to stay on topic.
  14. FNC is fully on board? Who said it would be a heroic run to 8th? We've seen this movie before....... with a tired core, underachievers and consistent mediocrity, all compromised of veterans. If we saw it again it certainly wouldn't be with any of that. There are more people that don't want to see another 30th place finish than you think, whether you accept it or not is up to you.
  15. We have 20+ first and second picks over a 5 year span and a surplus of D-men. It's called balance. Yes, you can have too many prospects.
  16. Perhaps, but I was answering the OP. Sorry, I'm just not on board with tanking for a top 3 pick. We have more than enough cap room, more than enough trade bait. There is no reason why we need to suffer through another season like this.
  17. Yes, it's exactly about tanking for one player. Read the first post. Nobody said we would tank for McDavid, the hypothetical did, hence my position in a previous post.
  18. Cut out the snark. Where did I say we didn't have good players in the system? I'm sorry you don't like my opinion. Actually, no I'm not.
  19. No, I'm never on board with a tank. I'm especially not on board with doing it for one player. I like to have more baskets for my eggs.
  20. He was playing it up on the pre-game how much of an effect it would have on the team. It was just entertaining to me that everybody he talked to said he was wrong, if anything they got extra rest. I'll give him credit, Paul has really toned it down a lot lately. I just found that funny.
  21. Hamilton was determined to find somebody to say the team was tired and that's why they lost. haha
  22. If Murray needs to fill some roster spots next year with some hard working underachievers looking to get their career back on track, I would love to see Skille get a chance. He was never flashy, but he bsted his balls every night as a Panther. A Nolan type player. 17G/12A in 22 GP. Retweeted by George Richards Springfield Falcons ‏@TheFalconsAHL 51m Jack Skille SCORES with 16 SECONDS LEFT and the Falcons tie the game at 7-7! That's 4 goals tonight for Skille!
  23. Football is going to hell quickly. My interest has been waning year after year. Am I the only one? I usually go to my local pub to watch the Bills play on Sunday, might not be the case this year. Sorry if that's off topic, just needed to rant.
  24. Dammit, I forget about that every time.
