  1. They could re-sign Halak. I thought it was an incredibly stupid trade to make before the deadline. You have a team that was contending for the President's trophy, a goaltending duo that was well above average and one of the best defensive teams in the league. You DON'T go and change the chemistry in that situation. You DON'T mess with key elements of your team. Maybe you bring in a couple of guys to deepen your 2nd and 3rd lines, maybe. Now you've gotten rid of draft pick, a 25 goal/year forward and a prospect for a couple of rental players and you lose first round because your team went into a tailspin the last 10 games. (I know there were injuries, everybody had injuries). Armstrong should be fired for that deal. Let's face it, between the Islanders and Blues, Regier/Murray schooled both of those teams.
  2. Thanks. I wonder if the Blues would be interested in signing Halak during the offseason.
  3. What did he say about Shattenkirk?
  4. Around the 5:05 mark, right in between Malarchuk and Miller.
  5. Are the Panthers really the problem? http://www.sportsmanias.com/tweets/article/5359c13cdb0974c64e0000d9
  6. He also did BFLO a favor by selling it to Pegula at a discount because he knew Pegula would keep the team in BFLO. Higher offers he got couldn't guaranty that.
  7. Malkin hasn't scored in 8 straight so I guess we have to wait one more game. :P
  8. Figuratively speaking..........
  9. LOL @ Dallas!
  10. Teams that took a two goal lead are 9-6 in thee games so far. Two of those wins were won in overtime by the team that blew a lead. So the record could easily be 7-8. Feel free to re-word that so it makes more sense.
  11. In BFLO he was the captain, he was getting 1st line minutes (he was the only forward in the top 7 in minutes), he had a coach that loved him and he would end up being a key piece of the core moving forward if he came back. In St. Louis, he was just another 3rd liner, getting 3rd line minutes, no A or C and wasn't involved in the offense. Yeah I know, he was on the 1st line tonight and he is a key player in the playoffs. But looking at the big picture not everybody bases their decision on Stanley Cup odds every year. I think that famous 'Why would anybody want to come to BFLO' really doesn't hold water. Ott knows there is no where to go but up with this team and he is young enough to enjoy the ride up.
  12. Having to listen to Brian Engblom, I don't see how there can be one person that will ever criticize Rob Ray again. That man is simply horrible!
  13. know it's all fun, I was just showing off how bad my picks are. One thing I came to realize when making my picks is the second round pairings weren't re-seeded depending on who I chose. It never dawned on me that this year there is no re-seeding going into the second round; it's a fixed ladder like the old days. I like it!
  14. Well fine, I didn't want to play anyways.
  15. Dammit! I missed it. But I did do it for another group. Can I play?
  16. Plus, Jovanovski and Gilbert might not be back. And although I haven't heard anything to back this up, it wouldn't surprise me if Campbell is bought out.
  17. Was that because of the comments Nolan made after the game? Or did they say something to the league that they didn't like? Because I remember Nolan's comments and they weren't that bad. Sorry to go off topic, last question I promise.
  18. Ah OK, thanks. I wasn't aware there was a particular incident.
  19. Pardon my ignorance, what was he referring to?
  20. It was locker cleanout day, the day following the last game for the worst team in the league. What exactly did you guys expect him to say? Wait, scratch that......... What should he have said to make his comments more acceptable?
  21. Stafford really stepped up this year, not just in his production, but his effort and his leadership. Just listening to him he sounded like a whole new person. If he can keep it up, I think he deserves it. Girgensons is too young. The kid's got everything to look forward to, a coach that's in love with him, fans that love him, a desire to win...... let's not push it. He'll get his turn.
  22. Must have been. Probably just hit at the right angle. Just heard they released him from the hospital.
  23. I fail to see what Byron did wrong. I don't even see where Sedin got hurt unless it was when he hit the ice.
  24. Sure would like to see the intermission reports for Roby's last game. Not sure why they've been blocked by NHL GameCenter the last couple of weeks. It's really quite aggravating
