  1. Could we still have a Ryan Miller thread? :P
  2. Well, Lieuwen has had some pretty bad concussion issues.
  3. Anybody that does sports talk radio for a living should at least have a ballpark idea.
  4. If a silly joke meant to lighten the mood is worthy of deletion, it might be time to move on. I certainly don't want to have to go over each and every one of my posts to make sure the mods find it worthy. You really need to join a forum that needs moderation to see how civil this place is. But thanks for the mature response. Stay classy my friend.
  5. Just wish somebody would take ownership of the post deletions and explain why there were deleted. Nothing has been implemented, yet coincidentally there are posts missing in a thread about forum etiquette.
  6. Go to post #38 and click on my quote so it takes you to the actual post. It won't because it's gone along with at least two other replies to said post. I have the Email notifications. This forum doesn't need policing. If posters get out of hand, a simple thread reminding people of forum etiquette would suffice. If the forum starts getting more policed posters are just going to leave. And with another last place finish looking on the horizon losing posters is the last thing this place needs.
  7. I completely understand the reasoning behind this thread, and I agree with most of it to a point. But if we're going to start the 2014-15 season by deleting posts, especially ones that were obvious attempts at humor and nott in any way meant to change a subject, I'm outta here. We have a civilized enough group where we can police each other, and have done so up to this point. If a thread strays too far off topic, I'm sure one of us can get it back on track. But deleting posts is crossing the line. I'm on several discussion boards and trust me, this isn't one that warrants any deletion of posts. I can't believe my post was removed. If we're deleting posts that were blatanly comedic in nature, what's going to start happening with posts that aren't so obvious?
  8. Is that William Nylander or Alicia Silverstone?
  9. He's not 6'4" 240#. Fans will throw him under the bus by game 30.
  10. WE DON'T NEED ANY MORE DRAFT PICKS. Carry on.
  11. Getting rid of Myers would be absolutely absurd. Myers started coming around and with Nolan as coach, I think Myers can fluorish. I like what Murray has been doing, but he needs to throttle down. A line needs to be drawn.
  12. One year removed from a lockout, a full year to get the fans back, a little bit of financial stabilty................................. Can't they just leave well enough alone for a while?#@#!@$@!#@##!
  13. I think Miller will be one of the first transactions come free agent day.
  14. Hell, why not trade Girgensons for draft picks. 20 1st and 2nd round picks in 4 years isn't enough. A line needs to be drawn, this is getting ridiculous.
  15. I've also read a few article on him in the last few days. Is his attitude really that bad? Does he have an ego problem? I'd love to have a player that loves to get pushed, that can take being constructively criticized. But is his push back really that bad to the point where he might end up going in the 2nd round of a weak draft while some people say he has the talent of a McDavid? I don't like players that become a distraction, one where the ego gets in the way of the team and winning. Is that the kind of player he is?
  16. Ott has grit. Ya know, the other thing this board has a fascination with. I guess nobody wants him because he's not your 'dime a dozen' 40 goal 6'4" 240# forward.
  17. I guess we just see it differently. I'll stick to my point of tanking this coming season.......... not last.
  18. He was in his 30's. Everybody is in their decline at that age. He wasn't happy with the fact that he was given less power play time. I didn't say otherwise about Campbell and Florida. Or course they brought him in because he was still good. But that deal to Florida never happens if Tallon didn't have connections in Chicago. No, they finished last becasue they flat out sucked. At one point they were down to their 7th string goaltender. They traded away all the big name pending UFA's. They went through a GM change, a coaching change, the Lafontaine debacle............. they didn't do all that for the purpose of tanking. Granted they didn't do anything to try and imporve the situation, but at that point finish off the season and move forward. Now going back to my original point, it's going to be more difficult to tank this year. They won't be able to do it on purpose.
  19. I'm not going to not follow them, but I agree about putting together a winner. Doing what they did last year is acceptable. Purposely tanking from there on out is not.
  20. Either way, it doesn't have any bearing on how it will affect this year's team.
  21. Right. I think it's a non-issue. Stafford and Stewart may be gone, but it's not going to warrant the non-stop distractions that followed Vanek, Ott and Miller around wherever the team went. Nolan might be the only one around from last year, but they'll all be going through pre-season and training camp with the same coaches that they'll finish with. Some players played under 3 coaches in BFLO. The distractions hurt guys like Grigorenko. While they may be void of top notch talent for a while, the season will be a much smoother ride giving them all the chance to mature and improve. They didn't get that opportunity last year. I don't think the Rangers, Flyers and Penguins going into a downturn will help the Sabres record because of the minimal amount of times we play them, but it will water down an already weak conference; making it anybody's game. I have a real hard time thinking any team is good enough to run away with the East this year. It's all good. I can respect your disagreements. You backed up your argument with facts and substance, that's all I can ask for. ;)
  22. I really should proofread, that sounded elementary. It's no bigger of an assumption as the one that Murray will only spend to the cap floor. Not sure what is so horrid about the schedule, the back to backs? We'll have the youngest team in the league by a large margin. Somehow I don't think the B2B's will be an issue. Especially if we catch another team on a B2B, the Sabres might actually have the advantage there.
