In his defense, he was far outperforming Mike Smith in Glendale. More wins in 9 less games played and a respectable .916 save percentage on one of the worst teams in the league.

For a guy who's supposed to be one of this team's best defenseman, Gorges is a -18 over the last 12 games. Do we really need to hear the same tired post-game cliches? Can we just get to Nolan's presser and avoid the locker room? Only so many times I can hear "We need to get better", "We need to play 60 minutes", "We need to hold each other accountable", "We need to get back to basics"................................

To put that into perspective, the Panthers last year were the worst power play team in NHL history. They were a +21.

11 power goals scored 8 shorthanded goals allowed Net +3 on the power play halfway through the season. That pace has to be some sort of NHL record.

How about with :02 left in the game, Chara cross-checked Paquette 3-4 times as the refs watched and they didn't bother to step in until Paquette finally got fed up and tried to punch Chara. Then Paquette got a double minor for punching Chara???? Ridiculous.

I knew it was a matter of time before somebody bitched about the ceremony. If they had given a ceremony comparable to Selanne's BFLO would be bitching that it was too long. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm glad they kept it short and sweet.
