  1. Doesn't the Moto X have a smaller screen? I don't think Sprint offers the Z30.
  2. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the behind the scenes drama Nolan was notorious for. This team playing at 2/3rds the level is considerable when they only have 50% of the talent of any playoff team. Yes, this team is so bad I think their record is better than it should be.
  3. No, I think it has to do with letting myself get pulled back into your childish, snide world. I apologize for thinking this would be any different.
  4. I'm looking to get a new phone, my HTC One M7 is on its way out. I love the aluminum body on the One and the phone speakers are excellent. Was looking forward to the M9 hoping there would be a 5.5"-6" display version. Well, there is and it's called the E9. But it comes with a smaller battery and plastic body. While I'm still considering it, I've put some thought into other. Samsung Note 4 Samsung Note Edge Google Nexus 6 LG G3 LG G4 I like the UI on the LG G3 a lot and it has a great display. But it's been out for 9 months. Not sure this phone will hold out until the G4 omes out. I'm really impressed with the Note 4, but being a big fan of the HTC's audio, the downfall of the Samsung is the sound. The single rear facing speaker is awful. But I've convinced myself that that shouldn't be important. I like the Nexus 6 because of the great specs and the fact it is usually the first to receive any major OS updates. But I don't like the UI of it. Seems pretty plain. Right now I'm leaning towards the Note 4 because the Note 5 won't be out for a few months. Might consider the Edge, tough to tell if I'd like that curved screen or not. Seems like something people either really love, or really hate. I'm looking for the biggest display size so anything 5" and under is probably out of the question. Any recommendations? What do you all have?
  5. The claim is Nolan can't handle this team going forward because he will turn all players into gritty two-way players. (Ironic because for the last three years this place was bitching up a storm because Darcy never focused on getting big, two-way gritty players, but I digress) I asked for the basis of said arguments. The ONLY responses that came back were in reference to current players. I didn't ignore a damn thing you or anybody else said.......... I never got an answer. Big difference. If I asked you how is it driving a new Corvette, telling me it's not worth it because a Volt is slow doesn't tell me anything and doesn't support your viewpoint.
  6. Stewart was damn close to his career average this year with the Sabres, quite an accomplishment on the worst offensive team in the NHL in 79 years. Moulson needs talent on his line to score. Yes I said it, and it's the correct analysis. Gionta is 36 years old and he's on pace to (PPG) get about 75% of last year's total with Montreal. Considering the team's offensive outputs....... If this team's woes is because Nolan is so bad, man the rest of the hockey world really swung and missed on their analysis of him. I've read those posts and responded accordingly. I then asked YOU to back up your hypothesis. And I am still waiting on YOUR supporting evidence. "I don't think he can" isn't an answer.
  7. Settle down princess, I'm perfectly calm. He doesn't confuse effort with results..... this team barely has the ability to put up results. The ones that can are the ones that show effort. Most, if not all his benching have been warranted. If Grigorenko is getting demoted for repeatedly showing lack of effort, maybe he's really not showing any effort. Seems rather odd that Nolan would focus all his negativity on one player for no reason. I've heard Grigorenko has shown lack of effort in Rochester as well. So basically you have nothing to base on your assumption that Nolan can't deal with elite NHL talent.
  8. Please, tell me! What are these indicators? Why can't anybody give me a legitimate answer? Hodgson scored 20 goals last year on what WAS the worst offensive team in 78 years. Girgensons would have scored 20 goals this year on what WILL BE the worst offensive team in 79 years. Do you have any other superior offensive talent on this roster that was producing before Nolan that suddenly stopped when he got here?
  9. Again, is there any proof that Nolan cannot be a qualified coach with an offensively talented team? I keep hearing that he's not the one to move forward with, and he will try to turn gifted players into gritty two-way players. But is there something to base that on? Can it be that he just plays that game now because he knows it's the only way to squeak out a few wins with this particular roster? (We should probably start a Nolan thread) Edit: I forgot we already have one. I'll be over there. How many of those coaches were subjected to tank jobs of this proportion?
  10. What issues would that be? For what it's worth, I've been on the Hodgson is good/Nolan is good bandwagon for a while. I've been critical of Hodgson's effort lately and I think he is extremely one-dimensional. But I want to wait until he has somebody that can bring out his one dimension before tossing him to the curb. Just like I think Nolan deserves a shot with the same talent before throwing him to the curb.
  11. Is there some kind of Bat Signal you all use when you're all ready to throw somebody under the bus? The choreography is impeccable when this place decides they don't like somebody. Not sure if it's coincidence that the timing comes right after Murray rid the team of your favorite whipping boys.
  12. So am I. http://youtu.be/Pdjgdb-OxY8?t=31s
  13. If you're looking for examples, I have none. I don't know the complete extent of his career between gigs with the Sabres. But, I hear the praise mentioned often from opposing teams' commentators, to the media, to other coaches and from players themselves. Any team that would be this bad in consecutive years regardless of talent would be talked about getting fired on a daily basis. Yet this isn't happening because everybody knows it's not his fault. What else should he bring to the table? Is there something glaringly obvious that I happen to be missing that makes him unqualified to be the coach moving forward?
  14. It's common knowledge around the league that Nolan is famous for teaching young talent and motivating players. Coaches say it, hockey experts say it, players say it............ No offense to your knowledge on hockey, but I'm going to trust what they say. Hodgson is notorious (based on what hockey experts say) for being uncoachable. I'll stick with the notion that Nolan is not the problem. You and I both have no idea how Nolan will pan out as a coach with talent. But in general if a coach is good with a marginal team chances are he will be better with a good team.
  15. But you DID claim that Nolan likes to put "plugs" in place of players that want to succeed in defense of a poster that said Nolan should not be coaching an elite talent............... did you not? Grigorenko is not a multi-dimensional player, at this point he's not even a uni-dimensional player. And it's not Nolan's fault. It's not Nolan's fault Hodgson is unproductive either. Hodgson was the leading scorer last year under Nolan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's rather ridiculous to say a coach is successful with marginal players but unsuccessful with talented players. Especially when there is absolutely nothing to base it on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PS- Can we PLEASE get rid of merged posts? I hate making separate comments and have them show up on one post when it doesn't apply to the person I responded to. Is post ###### really that big of an issue?
  16. Grigorenko brought neither.
  17. I did, hence the question. Maybe they just don't fit the system of Murray who prefers multi-dimensional players of which Grigorenko and Hodgson are not.
  18. When has he had elite NHL talent to deal with? Seems to me the few Sabres on the roster with some talent get significant playing time. I don't recall Stewart, Ennis, Moulson, Myers, Bogosian, Gionta and Gorges getting replaced by "plugs".
  19. What do you have to base that on? Malkin and Crosby had already played 2-3 seasons before Bylsma got there.
  20. Direction of what? In 9 years Freddie has seen every direction thrown at him. Exactly. He was the team's leading receiver while missing two games!!!! Between the ages of 32-34 Thurman had 1,025 +/- combined rushing and receiving yards over three seasons in 28 games. Last year Freddie had 1,025 yards in one season and 14 games. No comparison in my mind.
  21. What not just give everybody bonuses and forever remain under the cap?
  22. So $5.6 against the cap, but he gets $16 mil. Good thing I never cared to figure out the NFL cap rules.
  23. Was Hodgson scratched tonight? 9th time this year the Sabres have given up 6+ goals. 20th time this year they've given up 5+ goals.
  24. So is Gleason going to get one of those cute little $2,000 fines for embellishment? Nice little delayed reaction.
