Not to get off-topic, but it's the offseason what else do we have to talk about. I have to make some sort of evasive/defensive maneuvers to avoid people talking/texting on their phone or whatever they're doing with the head looking in their laps constantly. Random estimate probably to the tune of 100:1 that of avoiding a drunk driver. Probably higher. And these people are part of traffic all day long, mostly during rush hour when they are most dangerous. On top of the tiny percentage of texters to drunks, drunks are most common at night when nobody is on the road. Until texters are treated equally to drunks ie jail time for 2nd offenses, community service, revocation of licenses.............. then we will never be safe on the road. If states haven't made texting illegal as a PRIMARY offense cops can hand out wreckless driving, failure to maintain a motor vehicle and/or failure to maintain lane citations, Texters are far more dangerous to me and my family than drunks are and they need to be treated equally. I'm not condoning driving while intoxicated one bit, but this really bugs the hell out of me. I can't tell you how defensively I need to drive down here while seeing drivers that are completely oblivious as to what's going on around them while cops simply look the other way. Sorry for the rant, I was long overdue. :flirt:

Looking at Lucan on Google Earth, I can't blame him for drinking.

At least he didn't sleep through his alarm clock and show up late for practice.

I agree with you. Not sure how somebody can say he lost the benefit of the doubt. For all we know these "kids" may have been 17 years old and went after him after he tried to knock some sense (not physically) into them; then the police decided to take the kids side of the story. Way too many situations nowadays involving knee jerk reactions that end up being incorrect after all is said and done.

I've got GameCenter and I thought the lawsuit stipulated that they couldn't charge the full amount if you only subscribed to watch one single team. The way I understood it is that customers will pay a smaller fee just to watch one team, while others pay the same amount they've always paid if they want to get all of the games. What I don't understand is why they tell us which years this applies to because nobody gets an extra discount, or a refund. I'm probably incorrect and that's why it doesn't make any sense to me.

And I thought Bowman was going to get the 1st rounder, prospect and top 6 forward on an entry level contract that he was asking for.

Well that makes sense. Kinda clever actually.

Not quite sure I get the logo.

Any word on how a no-movement clause factors into an expansion draft? Does it apply?

Dammit, I'm usually pretty good at catching that crap. Didn't realize it was a NBC.com.co link............ dead giveaway. I don't understand what the hell people find so entertaining about false/satirical news.

With all this scoring, who needs a legitimate 5/6 pairing?

John Shannon: "The Sabres would be better not making the playoffs"
JJFIVEOH replied to beerme1's topic in The Aud Club
I'm not concerned about the team making the playoffs, I'm concerned about fan expectations being way too high, way too quickly and hearing nothing but doom & gloom when the team doesn't meet inflated expectations. -
Using that logic I guess Cody Hodgson was worth $4.25mil/yr.

So we have a consistent 60 point player, very good all around, power play, penalty kill, hard worker, Lady Byng nominee................................ 2007 Jason Pominville?
-
He played a season for the Macon Whoopie. Always loved that name.

You all ready for tomorrow? Who actually took the day off?

UPDATE: Buyout — Roster review: #19 Cody Hodgson
JJFIVEOH replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Good point, he'll be 26 next year at this time which would make the buyout 2/3 instead of 1/3. -
UPDATE: Buyout — Roster review: #19 Cody Hodgson

He was 2nd and 1st in points before last year. Although I'm not terrify saddened to see him go I figured he would be given a year under Bylsma. I wonder how some players get cast off after one bad year while some players are given multiple chances to repeat their one good year. I know he's one dimensional, I hope that played a bigger part in the decision. One more year knocks two years off a cap hit if bought out after next season.
