Where did I say Chara was a cheap shot artist?
-
But, you know what? Guys like Tom Wilson, Lucic, Chara, Matt Martin, Kadri.............. we'd all love to have them on our roster. Well, at least Lucic and Chara a few years ago. I still think every team needs one or two of those type of guys. If not those type of guys then coaches who can squeeze some physicality out of their players. Boogie did that in SoFL.

It hasn't hit 90 this entire year and hasn't gotten over 80 this entire week.

I'm about 45 minutes behind, purposely to scan over commercials, so I'm going to avoid reading the rest of the posts. But this is super cool. seeing an arena that is close to 80 years old, only bringing in 2,000 kickass fans, and still attracting nationally televised and the fulll NBC crew. We've had nothing to cheer about for several years, but this is kinda neat.

The Athletic Vs. BN - Going to buy only one....

The Athletic -
Didn't I mention that?

17 point underdogs are 3-29 in NFL history. This might be one of the biggest upsets in NFL history.

I've lost my patience with Buffalo sports and after the first two weeks, chose not to go out to a pub to see the game. Kinda regretting it now. But, listening to the game on WGR, Mark Kelso is nauseating. He just doesn't shut up, he's worse than Jon Gruden and he cries like a little bitch.

I agree with you to a point. A real captain will step up no matter if you stick a C on his chest or not. But, if you're going to stick a C on somebody's chest, you don't take it away from him.
-
What do you think about that? I'm not a big fan of teams handing out the C to the highest paid and/or the most talented player on the team. First off, you don't take away the C from a guy who is still on the team (Derek MacKenzie). Second, you don't give the C to a guy who is super shy, gets hurt often and isn't very outspoken. If there is anybody willing of a C on the Panthers it's Vinnie Trocheck. He is the bomb. If I were an opposing team, I would trade for him in a heartbeat over Barkov.

OK, the Bills got rid of Fitzpatrick because...........

This may have been the first time I have left a bar/restaurant before halftime for any Bills game because I know there is no hope. This city's teams are a disgrace. What a joke the Bills are. Glad I've finally smartened up to not waste my time spending money going out to watch this garbage.

Alex Smith, Aaron Rodgers or Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB?

I said last year that I've made another team "my team" and that this team and the Sabres are like 1A and 1B. I'm being cautiously optimistic about this year. But, I've been let down so many times between the Sabres and Bills that I'm just not putting my fandom towards the Sabres onto another level until they can prove to me that they can compete and they actually give a damn. The Panthers were my 2nd team for years before I made them 1B. But when I watched them in the years when they sucked, they at least played like they cared. They reminded me of Nolan's team, his 2nd time around. No talent, but a lot of heart. I don't mind watching a talentless team if they play with heart. This team over the last several years has had no heart, and it's painful to watch. At this point, if the Panthers and Sabres play on the same night, I just might tune into the Panthers. And maybe watch the Sabres game afterwards if I'm still awake. Still a big fan, but I've lost all patience. In my opinion, Dale Tallon is 10X the GM that Botterill is, and Boogie is 10X the head coach that Housley is. I can say the same for Spuddy Gallant, and I have many times over the last few years.

That's not snarky at all. Good job.

I enjoy The Athletic's articles much more than newspaper articles. It seems as though they aren't forced to sensationalize and write on a 3rd grade level so everybody can understand it. The articles in The Athletic offer much more substance without having to sensationalize and embellish the point.
-
Before anybody contradicts me, I'll admit my ignorance as far as their prospects. So I'm not familiar with what is coming up through the ranks to fill those D-men spots.
-
After this year, they'll have 2, maybe 3 viable D-men. Yzerman did a great job building this team, he's also put them in cap hell moving forward. He probably figures if he quits now, the new guy can take the fall for when they need to trade half the team to be able to afford to keep a team together.
-
Why even bother having a presser with McDermott? I've never seen a coach talk so much and say absolute nothing.
-
Food for thought....... Peterman's QB rating this game is actually lower that his 5INT game. 3 starts and he's been yanked twice. When will Beane get the hint?
-
At least you got wings out of the deal.
-
1 step back, 2 steps forward would imply they were worse last year. The 2-14 teams were better than this.
-
This might be the worst Bills game I have ever watched.
-
They're in year 20 of a roster rebuild. This team isn't going to the playoffs, at least with Fitzpatrick or Tyrod, it would be a bit more entertaining to watch. This is downright painful.
-
I think it was a fantastic strategy to start the season with a QB core that has a total of two starts.
