  1. Sounds like somebody is warming up in the whipping boy bullpen.
  2. That too. I think Bob is decent, but nowhere near Vezina status I hear people give him based on his lockout year performance.
  3. Well, Nick Foligno can/will regress back to the norm now that he has his contract. They got his Drew Stafford year out of him last year.
  4. It all depends on the source and who they're backing. I can't even trust polls any more. Search 10 polls and you'll find significantly different results for each one.
  5. Princess vs. Clarkson at 14:12 of the 2nd? Bad blood?
  6. Yeah, it was probably the humidity it's been pretty high lately. It was cool inside, I wore a heavy jersey, undershirt and jeans and wasn't warm at all. It's tough for the first month or two of the season to handle the humidity after they open the doors.
  7. It's going to be extremely unlikely, it's something they've been talking about for a while.
  8. The Panthers aren't going anywhere any time soon. http://www.tsn.ca/potential-panthers-bailout-quashes-quebec-city-relocation-whispers-1.377849
  9. Who's at the door?
  10. The play was over and I don't think Reinhart was expecting it. It was just a little reminder to a rookie to stay away from their goaltender. He held his own until the whistle blew. They replayed it a couple of times at the arena.
  11. That's why I'm not a big fan of Fallon. I'm not watching the show for him, I'm watching the show for his guests. He has the first half hour to be a circus monkey. Unfortunately, it seems as though Colbert is headed in the same direction. Sign of the times? Comedy styles heading in a different direction? Different demographics? Young adults have a different view of what they find funny? Who knows.............. it could be all of the above. I found Craig Ferguson to be an outstanding interviewer. He didn't get the best ratings because he show was minimal and for the first half hour he had to do what he could with what was given to him. (I think his replacement is terrible). But when it came time for interviews he knew the guests. His tone and direction changed for every single guest. He didn't force the guest to answer questions that he wanted to hear, he asked questions that made them comfortable and allowed them to open up. He knew which guests he could push the limit in terms of creepiness, he knew which guests needed to be taken seriously and he almost never brought them on to push a new movie/book. I'll never forget the interview he did with Zack Galifianakis. Zack's thing is to come out on stage and just be goofy. He never really says anything with substance, he just plays dumb and the audience laughs. Craig turned it around on him and did the interview exactly the way Zack treats interviews........... dumb and goofy; Zack didn't know what to do because Craig didn't give him the interview he was expecting. Of course that's the opposite of what Craig was all about, but it was in his last year and I think it was an interview CBS forced him to do to push a movie, and I don't think Craig was a big fan. The point is, Craig was able to take control of an interview with somebody that usually comes out and takes control of everything. Nobody else could do that. I was a big fan of the Colbert Report, Ferguson and Stewart (pre-2014). When all those went away I gave all their replacements a chance. I just can't stomach a single one of them.
  12. Are we never again going to get our Kronkite because there are so many more avenues to choose from, or has journalism gotten so watered down and inept that people don't have anybody in which to attach themselves?
  13. Not sure why you got it the first week, but if you're in the blackout area you're probably not going to get them from here on out. Your going to have to use a VPN service.
  14. Here's my observations from the game tonight: -This team is crazy fast. It's really tough to appreciate it watching the game on TV, seeing it in person makes you realize just how much this team has improved from last year. -Two players stood out to me that really did a lot away from the play and that was Gionta and Foligno. I didn't read this entire thread but I saw some Gionta bashing, he was one of the better players tonight. His backchecking was as good as any, he made two or three important poke checks and helped to set up a few of the rushes that took place in the 2nd. Foligno is turning into a great all around player, his play along the boards tonight was great -Chad started shaky but looked confident as the game went on. He had no chance on the 1st and 3rd goal, the 2nd goal was kind of weak. He could have stolen a game but he certainly didn't lose it. -Eichel just never stops moving. All night long he hunted down the puck and tried to steal it. Twice he took the puck the length of the ice to create a good scoring opportunity. -I'm not sure there isn't anything O'Reilly can't do. A couple times tonight I saw him double shifted. -This team doesn't waste any time getting out of the zone. They're great at setting up but they need a lot of work finishing. Time will take care of that. -Jokinen made Girgs look silly, which probably wasn't on camera. After Jokinen knocked his helmet off Girgs was on a mission to lay him out. He came flying across the ice to put him into the boards, Jokinen stopped in his track and Girgs missed him by 5 feet. I was really looking forward to a good hit, probably a good thing it didn't happen because it could have been a suspension worthy hit. -Jagr is an incredible athlete. If he can stay healthy he should propel the Panthers into the playoffs, he's a great stopgap for the young forwards to take over this team. -Sabres fans were uncharacteristically quiet. I was rather disappointed that four people came up to me and asked me what jersey I was wearing (a Rob Ray black Buffalo head), three of them had Sabres jerseys on. Half the fans in the building spent the entire game with their heads buried in their phones. -Hot women in hockey jerseys.............. enough said. (They don't exist outside of the arena down here like they do in big hockey markets. :D) -Rineheart was impressive, he was getting involved in the play, he crashed the net a couple of times........... he needs to stay up and get used to his teammates. I think getting less ice time with his future teammates will help more than getting more ice time with a team he'll never play for past this year. -The Sabres are my team, I root for the Panthers otherwise because they are my local team. It's nice to finally be able to watch both teams knowing they are on the rise.
  15. I'm so glad hockey is back, I can start not caring about football.
  16. Hillary has been a salesman since the day she started. Her insincere approach, her scripted answers and her campaign-esque rah-rah rhetoric should scare people. It was borderline nauseating. She didn't point out Bernie's stance on gun control, Bernie explained why he hasn't made it a priority. It's not just me, polls show that Bernie outclassed her with ease last night. Part of the reason Bernie is gaining momentum is because he is becoming favorable to left-leaning Libertarians based on his reluctance to make gun control a priority and his stance on non-interventionism. Hillary should be scared. Especially when Joe steps in. ;)
  17. Hillary was the worst of them all. She was insincere, vague and evasive. Republican, Libertarian or Democrat, I cannot put any support behind anybody that looks like they want to sell me a car. Somebody forgot to tell her that the debate wasn't a campagin rally.
  18. My interest in the Panthers is no different than everybody else that left BFLO for another city with a hockey team.
  19. Take away the 's' in 'https'.
  20. Of course, but he tries too hard. I just don't find it cute or entertaining, it gets really old after a while. Alas, I'm not part of their target demographic so my opinion is irrelevant.
  21. Panthers have been scoring in bunches so far this year. 4 goals in 5:23 in a 7-1 win against Philly, then got shutout in the second of a home & home and topped it off with 3 goals in 5:55 in a 4-1 win against Carolina. Some useless trivia.............. Brandon Pirri set an NHL record last year with the highest goals:assist ratio at 22:2 in 49 games. So far this year he has 3 assists breaking last year's total.
  22. There's a fine line between satire, comedy and investigative journalism. He knows the difference between the three, he is just miles away from finding that line. I figured he would grow out of his awkward outbursts as he became more comfortable hosting his own show. Apparently not.
  23. Flash player is default on a PC for NHLGC, that is the problem.
  24. The last game on Roku was fine so I didn't have the need to try Kodi. But I did just try it now and replayed part of that game just to see how well it works. It appears to be much smoother but I didn't hook it up to the big screen where I see most of the chop. But compared to NHLGC itself it still appears to be much smoother just on the laptop. It still shows 720p but I think that's just the feed.
