Back to back games this weekend, probably wants to get a look at Ulmark. Question is, which game does he play? With Lieuwen's concussion issues, I don't think Murray sees him as part of the future. Unfortunately........ he looked pretty good the limited time he was up with the big club.
-
Yeah, he's done that on a few occasions. Randy Moller has been doing radio for many years, this year he got moved to TV and I hoped he was going to take over for Denis. Instead they stuck Moller down on the ice and Denis stayed in the booth.

I'll agree a WR isn't worth two 1st round picks. But when you need to address one position and you're afraid the guy you want probably won't be available when it's time for you to picks, the price goes up. When you think you have enough pieces to become a playoff contender (emphasis on the word 'think') and you have one glaring hole, you're going to pay more for that pick than another team. If this team was rebuilding it may have been a completely different story.

Cool list, thanks. One of the most important aspect I see in an analyst/color commentator is knowing when to shut up. Brian Engblom is nauseating. He talks just to hear himself and he's full of the typical cliches and buzzwords. Potvin talks way too much as well. It sounds like he's usually half in the bag by the time the game starts, and if he finds something that bugs him he just rambles on and on. In Potvin's defense, he has great hockey knowledge; he's great to listen to when he does interviews on radio shows.

Sorry I forgot the word 'EXTRA'. I figured that was implied. Going back to what I said to Hoss, you're using hindsight to prove a point. At the time it made total sense because Sammy was the #1 rated WR in the draft. If everybody knew Beckham would have turned out the way he did, the draft would have been totally different. And if the Bills drafted Beckham, he probably would have never turned out the way he did because Eli is ten times the QB the Bills have had over the last 15 years. And there is nobody in the 2nd that I would have taken over Sammy. I think we can all agree that trade is the least of the concerns right now. ;)
-
For all you know any other receiver could have had the same injury issues. It could have been worse. For all you know any receiver taken that round could have ended up worse with BFLO than they did with their current team. You're basing your opinion on hindsight. The trade would have been terrible if it didn't net us a #1 receiver which was the point all along and most other teams would have taken Sammy over Beckham. I don't see anybody in the 2nd round that is better than Sammy. We're approaching the territory of opinions and hypotheticals, there can't be any 'wrongs' because nothing is based on fact. Your point was that they wasted a first round pick on Sammy, right? That they could have gotten a better receiver elsewhere, correct?
-
And you know what Bills fans would be saying right now if that happened, with the depleted receiver core we have now? "Whaley should be fired for not trading up to get a receiver, this team is going to miss the playoffs again because there's nobody to throw to."

off topic SabreSpaceBlue & SabreSpaceGold 2015-2016 Edition

I was in an ESPN league that actually rewarded penalty minutes. Steve Downie's tantrums won me a couple of weeks. Only thing I don't like about the Gold league is there is only one substitute. Really leaves for making roster moves during the week rather uneventful. -
What makes his play unsustainable?

It's been great (for the most part) for me. With the exception of that one game it's been flawless. Except for tonight I had a few short pauses in the 1st period. Consider yourself lucky. Just make sure you have a choice VPN ready in case you come across a blackout.

I just went back and looked and they finally updated the box score. It wasn't updated a half hour after the game, then again neither was the score. 9:30 TOI. One minute less than Nickie D but three more shifts.
-
ESPN says 5:27. NHL.com says 9:30. I don't know who to believe any more. ESPN used to be the best place (in my opinion) to go for stats, as much as I hate ESPN. They certainly aren't up to par this year, stats aren't up to date, website is slow, new revised stat page is worse than before.................... might be time to give them up.
-
Maybe I missed it, but I see Foligno only played 5:27. DId he get hurt?

Exactly. ^^^^^^^^^

No arguments from me on that one. ;)

Sabres have outshot their opponent four times this year. Last year they didn't outshoot their fourth opponent until February 10.

Hey PHam, why don't you tell Evander how badly you were trashing him in the 2nd intermission.

THANK YOU! I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Lots of grey area. No matter how anybody looks at it, the rushed faceoff was completely out of line and needs to be addressed. Alas it was the Panthers vs. Penguins....... .... it won't even be mentioned. Gallant did delay the game out of spite after overtime. The officials went right off the ice as soon as the Pens scored the OT winner, so Gallant challenged the goal. Everybody had to come back out onto the ice and Cindy was talking smack to Gallant. The next game should be interesting.

Kane could easily have had two goals in his first two games. I agree with others, it's very premature. It's premature to judge anybody on this team 5 games into the season with a new coaching staff and 9 new players. I couldn't care less who smokes weed.
-
Phillsbury scored a goal in which he knocked the puck down with a high stick before knocking it into the net. They had already overruled a Panthers goal earlier in the game that should have stood, this time Gallant was trying to get the refs attention because he wanted a challenge. Instead of doing so the refs rushed the start of play by dropping the puck before the Panthers even had somebody in the faceoff circle. Gallant was pissed! https://www.dropbox.com/s/las9dcfrvxcv22l/20151020_231813.wmv?dl=0 Here's the bench view during that same faceoff. https://www.dropbox.com/s/awax8sffr1ca7hb/20151020_231947.wmv?dl=0 I've never heard that before. I'm surprised this is the first time it's been mentioned.

After going to the Panthers-Sabres game the other night, it becomes much more apparent what O'Reilly brings to the table when you get to see the game and not just what the camera shows on TV.

Wow, I thought I was blind at -4.25. Doc says -4.25 is equivalent to roughly 20/400 vision. Thanks for the info, I haven't looked into Lasik too much, but I was under the impression it really only worked for people that weren't horribly near-sighted. But I'm sure it's come a long way since I last looked into it.
