  1. He must have realized he wouldn't get paid if he retired, so he just happened to return to the team and injured his knee almost immediately. Gee, what a coincidence.
  2. I try to stretch out Netflix shows so that the lull in between seasons is shorter, so I still have a couple left of House of Cards and Orange in the New Black. Still have about half a season of Masters of Sex to watch. Last year I started watching Game of Thrones in my spare time so I'm going to need to find a new show to watch this winter. A new show on HBO called Vinyl looks intriguing, but that's still three months away.
  3. Dawn Cherry Blossom smells like Mr. Bubble.
  4. I think we should take a vote on bans.
  5. If Tampa keeps playing the way they've played so far this year, that would mean BFLO will get home ice advantage. I've seen nothing from them that impresses me.
  6. Risto's had better games.
  7. I've been leery about Cobb because he hasn't had more than 4 points since week 4, and they're playing Carolina this week. But, he's due for a good game. Yeah, Luck has been a total bust this year.
  8. It's all Kevin Kennedy's fault. Sabres are 3-1 with Doug Allen.
  9. Any ideas? I need one flex and one WR in my other league (non-PPR). Sammy, Landry, Julius Thomas, Frank Gore, Cobb and Amendola...................... I'm thinking Landry and Gore.
  10. There's a Q&A section for that.
  11. I didn't know Guy Fawkes enjoyed porn.
  12. Even if it wasn't sarcasm, would it really have been that bad of a post? Damn, an awful lot of tension around here lately. What's next, is the OP going to get reprimanded for not putting "OT" in the title? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interesting: https://twitter.com/HistoryInPics/status/662336153580920832
  13. My bank doesn't charge me to use their ATM, but they do charge me to use any other ATM on top of what that ATM already charges. They also charge me $12/month to use any of their services. Online banking/bill pay.... I don't have a choice even if I don't use their services. It sounds like, as of right now, Airbnb regulations have been at the state level and lower. I know North Carolina has been gung ho on setting regulations. Apparently Airbnb is illegal in Asheville and Raleigh, yet there are still places in Asheville on the Airbnb site. They're more concerned about house and property values if Airbnb is coming through with such low rates. I can see their point about long-term rentals, but I don't think the majority of Airbnb's places go that long, just the few that abuse the system. Just like everything else, leave it up to the few that abuse the system to ruin it for the rest of us.
  14. If she was inebriated and clamied to have been raped, the possibility of having been raped by another man and she wasn't sober enough to recall the situation can very much be used in court.
  15. You don't have to answer, I was just wondering if it was something I said. I find it disconcerting that apparently intelligent adults, many of which have never met, can discuss a topic so vehemently yet turn around with their hands over their ears and run out of a room simply because they aren't open to an opposing point of view.
  16. Is there something that was said in which you take offense? So when they test for DNA in a rape case, finding the DNA from other men would not be admissible? Any case, not just this one in particular.
  17. That was supposed to be 'sexual' Damn autocorrect. And don't put words in my mouth, I never said they couldn't, and it's completely besides the point.
  18. You haven't said he did do anything but you're working overtime coming with every possible spin to make her look innocent without once mentioning that she may possibly have ulterior motives. Stand up for your beliefs, take ownership of what you say. Get off the fence. I don't understand why males and females are viewed differently. Personally, I couldn't care less if you like to sleep around, male or female. But when it comes down to a jury trial promiscuity could be used if there is a case determining whether or not a rape took place over a casual serial encounter. It's really a discussion for another thread. If somebody dies from a drug overdose you can bet they'll put more effort into find somebody to prosecute if the person never used drugs as opposed to a drug addict.
  19. Or maybe he just didn't do anything. But you're unwilling to accept that possibility. The reason there are victim shamers is because we've turned into a society where everybody is a victim. You're going to label her a victim regardless so it really doesn't matter. Sorry, I just can't put much credence behind a study of 'unreporteds'. Especially when it doesn't even apply to this situation.
  20. Whether you like it or not, promiscuity is used as a factor. Especially in a jury trial.
  21. 1) It's out there, I'm on my phone right now so I'm not going to hunt down a link. There was no DNA found from Kane. 2) He didn't say it. But he has done nothing but support her no matter how the story continues to fall out of her favor, he has turned to calling anybody that questions it victim shamers and he has posted data that supports the notion that so many rapists get away with their crimes. I'm really not sure what other conclusion you want Mt to form. 3) I haven't posted evidence, the lack of evidence supporting her case is a telling tale. Lack of evidence often times implies a false accusation and/or an ulterior motive. All of a sudden she just wants nothing to do with this case, is it coincidence that it just happens to come around the same time the county said there are doubts about her allegations? So, no DNA, tampering of evidence, and she wants to stop the case right after there are doubts about her allegations. Sorry, I may say the sky is blue and you can tell everybody I never said the sky isn't green........ You may be right but guess what, the sky is still blue. The double standard is criticizing those that have made the leap to saying she's in it for the money when there is no proof all while for the vast majority of this thread most haven't thought twice about taking her side without any valid evidence. There is a lack of credibility of any chart that claims percentages of ANYTHING that is unreported.
  22. You're right, I don't. What I do have is reasonable doubt based on what has been presented to us, including the fact that there was no DNA to be found from Kane but there was DNA from two other men. Another factor I do have to go by is the fact that the DA's office and the county have had months to work on this case, with much more evidence (or lack thereof) than we have to go by, and they can't even come up with enough for a grand jury much less a criminal case. In reality. The person I was replying to, his only defense is 'so many others get away with it so naturally Kane must be guilty' based on a chart in which many question the validity to begin with. The 'this is the case because it's happened before' defense applies in many situations. All of us agree there is the posibility that Kane is guilty, why can't all of us agree that she might have had an ulterior motive until she found out she had no chance? Political correctness? Compassion? Why should we have compassion for somebody that was POSSIBLY trying to extort money out of a highly paid athlete? I have compassion for people that have been put in that situation, includng this woman if she is a legitmate victim. But I also have to look at other possibilities when her story begins to have more and more reasonable doubt.
  23. What about regulations on Airbnb? (I'm not asking you specifically, just adding to the list of regulatory advances)
  24. What does his money have to do with anything? This wasn't a civil trial, it was (would have been) a criminal trial. She had an entire team of lawyers, she had the county on her side, and there is zero evidence of any money being involved; not to mention the fact it would have been highly illegal. If you legitimately looked at the data and facts then you might consider that Kane could actually be innocent. Even the people that you generalize as 'crowing about their victory' have openly admitted, and strongly considered the fact that she is a victim and Kane is guilty. You on the other hand are completely unwilling to accept that Kane just might be innocent no matter how much the evidence supports him. Especially when it can't even make it to a grand jury. Where is the victim shaming? Emotionally charged rants lead to irresponsible use of the media's favorite catch phrases like 'victim shaming' and 'rape culture' all while completely ignoring the facts.
  25. Don't let anybody convince you that being last doesn't have its advantages.
