Turning over half the team expecting some sort of chemistry and cohesiveness is just as asinine. Especially when you want to make the youngest team in the league even younger.

That fire's been smoldering for a couple of years. Chip is a fuel tanker.

I'm not confident the number will be minimal.
-
Not to this extent.

We'll have to agree to seeing this in a completely different light. My gripe doesn't have as much to do with Lehner as it does with trade rumors, free agency and cohesiveness. So I'll keep this out of the thread even though it's already been derailed.

One, I wasn't complaining about not resigning FA's from the last two years. Two I didn't reference them scratching their heads the last two years. I was referencing the present and the future. Murray shouldn't be hitching about not winning when he can't keep half the team together for more than a year.
-
Won't mean anything when he starts to unload players................again.................and everybody's getting used to all new linemates next year................again.............. all while they fail to win again next year because there is no level of cohesiveness and management is sitting around scratching their heads trying to figure out why so much talent can't win games.

I agree. If the term 'overrated' is used in the correct context it describes Toews perfectly. He's a great player, but he's not the elite level some consider him to be. Neither Toews nor Kopitar are worth the contracts they were given. At least Toews' contract started when he was 27, Kopitar's contract won't start until he's 29.

The best thing to do when the team finally wins a couple of games........................... mess up the combination. Way to go guys. I'm beginning to think this organization really doesn't want to win.

How this got 4 games and Myers got off with nothing, I'll never know. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=797599 That was a brutal game. If you're gonna end a streak at 13 games, might as well do it in style.

Like Doug Marrone and Buffalo?

Fair enough, but I think it's an important factor to introduce to the topic. In many ways local taxes are just as important as federal taxes. Especially if you're a state that relies heavily on federal funding, if you can help local taxation it reduces your dependency on federal funding.

I just don't see somebody that is wealthy and living with their assets as not contributing to the tax base as unfair. At some point they initially acquired that wealth and paid a substantial amount in taxes, depending on how wealthy it was a significant amount more than most of us. Probably more than we'll pay in a lifetime. How is it any different if they pay it all up front or of they pay it gradually? There will always be rich people to come in and pay their large chunk year after year. And when it comes to "paying their fair share" most of those people don't use the taxes any more than middle class does. Schools, national security, infrastructure..... Not to mention the property and sales tax they pay along the way. They contribute much more to the local economy when they go buy a Bentley as opposed to one of us buying a Ford.

Great, so Murray comes out and basically says he's ready to deal putting the players on alert and taking their minds off the game. I really don't want to go through this again. This crap is getting really old. If a team wants to move forward, cohesiveness plays a big part.

The Panthers that would the division were a bunch of fill ins while they kicked off their rebuild. He the team was gone the next year. That's why. It's not like the team that won the division was the same team that finished last.

Damn, that's way below the daily average! Glad to see we're making progress.

Thanks for the link. 99% of the streets down here are N/S and E/W and mostly 4-8 lanes of 45-55 MPH. I'm not uncomfortable riding in traffic, but around here I'm not comfortable with the people around me to the point where I won't drive anything other than a full size truck much less a bike on the streets. But I do use the sidewalks which are plentiful. There are a couple of parks around me, but to get to any of the better known bike trails, or maybe head over to the beach or cruise around downtown requires throwing the bike in the back of the truck and making a day of it. I've made some trips along A1A and gone cruising through Ft. Lauderdale. I never really got away from biking, but it was never a regular occurrence. Until recently because in the last few years I've turned it up at the gym so now biking becomes another alternative for some cardio. Like BcSaberks said and I'm sure your logic is the same, it's a lot easier to do the cardio by biking when there is somewhere to go and sights to see.......... as opposed to gym equipment where you just find yourself counting down the time. Now I'm making it more routine so I just cruise through all the neighborhoods. I'd like to upgrade to something more modern but it all depends on where I end up in the next year. It could change the type of bike I need to buy. You must be enjoying this time of year, daytime biking in the summer is probably just as brutal as it is around here. Be careful with that, pushups might be the worst thing for you to do at this point. Ready for another round? Based on your map, either you're driving through people's yards or your GPS only plots you every half mile. :D

Good points. So why is it if crime rates are decreasing that they're trying to paint this image that we're in some sort of dire situation that requires even more government regulation? Keep in mind I'm not necessarily referring to background checks.... I got involved in this discussion because we were talking about mass shootings and the picture was painted that we're somehow in this dire situation (runaway crime rates and firearm deaths like the 80's) that required huge government regulation.

That's four more than they scored in the last 11 games combined. Peanut butter, anybody?
-
They just showed somebody jogging on the Stone Arch Bridge in Minnie. Damn it looks cold there!

Playing his own version of 'take a drink every time Franson coughs up the puck'.

Is it just me or has Leenus gotten up rather gingerly a few times tonight?
-
Is that similar to anthracite? I don't remember.

You're not stupid, nobody else gets it either. That's what makes it funny, it was another one of Potvin's drunken rants that ends up making no sense. The only reference I can think of involves dogs and..........baggage. However that might apply to the Sedins, I don't give Potvin the credit for being that deep.

What is the gun culture trying to do? And please define 'gun culture' because I think you're lumping in all gun owners with the statistically insignificant outliers that the gun control activists love to focus on. I may be wrong, that's why I ask for clarification.
