  1. Bloomberg makes the term 'big government' sound conservative.
  2. Exactly, these guys were given the time to learn and mature. I think Peyton was much worse than that his rookie season.
  3. He also threw 17 INT's and went 6-10.
  4. Cam Newton............. he's no RGIII.
  5. Cam has to be the argument for giving a QB a couple of years to develop instead of throwing him out with the trash if he doesn't take you to a Super Bowl in his rookie year. Of course that's exaggerating, but I think many teams lack the patience nowadays to give a guy a chance to turn into a winner.
  6. Well, like they say, this is the best thing to happen to Carolina fans since Seattle went to the Super Bowl last year.
  7. I wonder if we'll see more of it in the playoffs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (new post) I bet Lucic wouldn't have pulled that stunt if there was somebody like John Scott in the lineup. Glendale could use a guy like John Scott.
  8. It didn't, but I think it easily could have. Almost 7 minutes of sustained 6 on 5 pressure, Tampa outshot them 22-5 in the period. Soupy finally put in an empty netter to end it, but it was fun to watch!
  9. Tampa pulls goalie with 10:30 left down 4-1.
  10. Point taken. We can all come to several different conclusions, or a combination of them. I'm just having a hard time finding a level of entertainment in many of these games.

    Tank 3.0

Chad's got a .936 save percentage over the last three months. I don't think it could get much better.
  12. Fair enough. I just don't understand how they can be so inconsistent. When I see games like they played against the Caps, and then watch the games against the Bruins, Wings and Colorado, I'm left scratching my head. This year, I don't care if they lose, I don't care if they make mistakes........ but at least look like you're putting an in effort.
  13. Linus Omark with the hot stick. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/gotta-see-it-linus-omark-uses-flaming-stick-at-khl-skills-competition/
  14. I agree it's not helping the scoring at all. I think they've been struggling ever since Ennis got hurt. But it doesn't explain why they've looked listless and lazy while playing like they're going through the motions in most of their losses. At the start of the season when they were missing key guys, they lost a bunch of games where it was arguable that they should have won. At least payed good enough to win. Many of their losses lately were legit and deserved. Most of them ended up closer in the score than they should have been.
  15. Then stop acting like one. If you want to discuss, discuss. If not, lay off the snide comments and just move on. Toews, Panarin and Shaw are not Girgs, Ennis and Reinhart. And they certainly would be putting in a better effort than the Sabres have in their recent losses.
  16. Just because you say you did, doesn't make it so. All you did was provide the stats that shows we are 2nd in the league in man-games lost. I'm sorry you can't recognize that our injury problems have been going on all year, not just when the Sabres started playing like crap. Stop being a prick.
  17. Price wasn't scoring half of the teams goals, Price wasn't the reason their scoring was reduced by almost half. In fact it can be argued that Price had little to do with their winning streak. They were putting up nearly 4 goals/game, an average goaltender would have been 8-2. Poor example. The Oilers have sucked for several years whether they lose a player or not. Another poor example. If you watched the last 3-4 games of the Panther's win streak, they were long over due to lose some games because they did not look good at all. That's when Ekblad was playing. We're going to have to agree to disagree. This team has been playing poorly. Mistakes are expected, laziness is another story. I'm not the only one noticing this. These three "top 6" forwards have a total of 18 goals in 110 games. And the most productive has only missed one game. That's just not the difference between being a competitive team ad being another tank team. I think they're regressing, apparently some think otherwise.
  18. And the majority of those man-games were earlier in the season, which was when they happened to be playing better.
  19. Panarin, Shaw and Kane are not Ennis, Reinhart and Girgensons. The Canadiens were a poor team before losing Price. They were riding an early season wave they couldn't sustain. If we're going to make comparisons, let's compare similar players/situations. I'm not sure which games you've been watching, but at least half have been some pretty pisspoor showings and it had nothing to do with lack of talent.
  20. How does this prove the other 25-30 games this year in which they've gone through the motions? This team isn't heavily injured, not any more than any other team. In fact they probably have one of the healthiest defensive cores in the league right now. Losing and looking like they've mailed it in are two totally different things.
  21. I know you don't like me, so why do you bother replying? It was a general statement about all excuses used thus far. If I was referencing your point directly I would have quoted you. It's not all about you. We can't all be as good as you.
  22. Because every other team plays under optimal conditions.
  23. The Sabres aren't playing with half an AHL roster. They have one line of AHL'ers and a full D core. The other 3 lines have some talent, much more than any line on the team last year. Last year's team was able to come up with some semblance of effort on a fairly nightly basis. No more excuses.
  24. If we had more Amerks up we'd probably see more effort. At this point I'd rather watch lack of talent with effort over some talent and no effort.
  25. They're going to embarrass themselves on national TV on Monday.
