I think he would turn off the moderates who lean left because of his fiscal conservatism, I think he would turn off the moderates who lean right based on his big government views. Who knows, that might be acceptable for many considering the alternatives.

I used those stats to show that he might not be a career backup. So many call him that and all they have to base it on was that one year where he wasn't shuffled around. Since his stats were similar to a Vezina caliber goaltender, perhaps he may not be a career backup. Maybe he has the ability to be a starter for a few years. is save percentage has been great for the last three months. his save percentage was great the year in Boston. His QS% has been in the same range as Luongo, Price, Bishop and Lundqvist over the last three months. Goaltenders go on streaks, but they don't usually last 3 months unless they're fairly good. Let it go.

There's some miscommunication here. I thought Cam was worth developing, I am a strong supporter of letting QBs develop and mature if not taking their lumps on the field for 3-4 years, then riding the bench and learning from a veteran for a couple of years. My point is that a lot of talent has been wasted by teams not giving these guys time to develop. Kudos to Carolina for doing so.

You were referring to everybody in general, as was I. For the record, since 11/1 Johnson's QS% is 63.5%.

So what is this line to where stats become a relevant part of the discussion? Those starts are over a third of his career but aren't significant because Rask had so many more, yet it's not enough for everybody to deem him a career backup?

The QS percentage is almost identical. I don't know how much more direct it can get.

They're not arguments, I keep them as discussions until they decide to make it personal. Take note of the people I get into "arguments" with, they're usually the same 5 people that are notorious for doing the same to others. There's more than one common denominator here.

Both with . 93x save percentages and a 2% difference in QS isn't nearly identical? Top 5 in the entire league isn't nearly identical? How can you compare the two but say this year doesn't count for Rask because it's a bad year, can I cherry pick my stats too? Johnson's 2nd best season? He's only played two full seasons!
