You're right, you mentioned it somewhere. It's still a mountain bike so probably not going to go full slick. Maybe a semi-slick or another mountain bike tire with a tighter pattern. Still want to try and hit the trails. Might even go with a nice middle ground with a good trekking tire like this, good for gravel and fast. That just means I'll have to put the trails off for a while. http://www.continental-tires.com/bicycle/tyres/city-trekking-tyres/cruise-contact At least you got a ride in to keep that string alive. Just saw your pics........................ did the mayor OK the new bike lanes you hit her up for? :P Thanks. Believe it or not, once you get going and put the distance out of your mind, it's not that bad. It was the 6 hours of sun and no clouds. Not looking forward to our brutal summers, but at least it gets cloudy sometimes. One thing we do have that you don't................................... air. :P

Considering there have been a grand TOTAL of TWO major tornadoes (f3+) in the last 64 years in Davidson county, I'll stand by my statement. 18 of those 20 tornadoes listed in your one link were f0 or f1. Do you know how strong an f0 is? It's basically a big gust of localized wind, most often not even associated with any kind of rotation. And when I say there have only been two f3+ and over tornadoes in Davidson county, I really shouldn't include the "+" because there have never been any f4's and f5's in Davidson county in 64 years of recorded history. ;)- 59 replies

In reality, if you're living in central to western Tennessee, the chances of being involved with a tornado is slim to none. The chances of being involved with an f3-f5 tornado is closer to none. You're more likely to encounter any other major natural disaster living any place else in the country.- 59 replies

That's a cool shot of Saturn! Why use the cell phone over a traditional camera? I know it's easier, but has it come that far?

Another of South Beach. The Key Biscayne Lighthouse, or the Cape Florida Light. A few of the remaining seven(?) houses of Stiltsville. These are now protected by the National Parks Service but I think they no longer serve any purpose. And these are right downtown on the mouth of the Miami River.
-
I went all out today. Headed down to downtown Miami, ended up making my way back over to Miami Beach (especially South Beach) and covered it end to end. Headed back over downtown and wanted to cruise south into the city for a bit. I considered going to Key Biscayne since the way to get to Rickenbacker Causeway was by heading south out of downtown. Since I was over 40 miles, I told myself I'd decide once I got there......... so ###### it, I went to Key Biscayne too. Came back, cruise through downtown some more over at Mary Brickell Village. Locked the bike up on the truck and went to have dinner at Bayside. All totaled, 62 miles. While I dig the workout, it might be time to get some less aggressive tires for this mountain bike since I'm using it more for city/road/gravel. If anybody ever comes down here on vacation, seeing Miami is an absolute 'must do'. The diversity, the food, the people........... it's an incredible city. I don't know why, maybe it's the diversity, but Miami has the most beautiful people I have ever seen for a city. https://ridewithgps.com/trips/8905215 Here is Miami from the northeast. This is looking south from the McArthur Causeway, straight ahead is Fisher Island. There are no roads to Fisher Island, anybody ever see The Birdcage? The southernmost tip of South Beach, South Pointe Park. And the word famous South Beach.

There are some things I don't like about Goober, but I think you're setting the team back another year if you bring in another new coach. Most importantly, what kind of message does that send to Goober if he finds out they're pursuing Sutter? Even worse if Sutter says no. Although it would finally being some entertainment to the post game pressers.

You're right, the corsi numbers have been fairly close. I just couldn't believe the numbers for this game. -50 is unheard of for a playoff game, damn.
-
Dallas was -50 corsi?!?!?! (75-25)

His brother gets 5.5 to score 15 goals a year.

How do you feel about Sabres charging for NHL Draft?
JJFIVEOH replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Aud Club
Are these going to be general admission tickets? One thing to keep in mind, in other drafts all the free tickets were general admission and handed out like candy. Many more tickets were issued than the arenas could hold but the demand never gave them anything to worry about. By paying for a seat you are guaranteed a seat. With Toronto getting the #1 pick, their fans right up the street, and BFLO fans being such diehards........ if they handed out free general admission tickets in BFLO it would be absolute chaos. -

JJFIVEOH replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Aud Club
I understand. For the draft here in Sunrise I was in the 300 level, but I had front row right behind the section where McDavid and Eichel were sitting with their families, with the Sabres table right across from them. So it was relatively close. The 300 level didn't completely sell out so we were able to spread out and get comfortable. I see the point where locals want the tickets free, and I also see it from the demand standpoint. The demand will probably be higher than it was down here, even with Eichel/McDavid. -

For what it's worth, 300 level seats are only $20. -

Same here, got the older Brooks Pure Flow when the new ones came out. Much lighter, comfortable and softer than the Asics Cumulus 16. It's too bad the new Pure Flows are hideous, probably going to have to get something different when these wear out.

JJFIVEOH replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Aud Club
Upper level was free, and they also had a premium ticket that included food, booze, buffet, etc....... for $75 a ticket. Well worth it when you consider the price and quality of the concession food. -
For whatever reason your wife hasn't been able to ride, that's great that she's finally able to get out. I agree, it's a great way to get to know a city.

That's a hell of a resumè. Vinnie likes his West Point grads. He's got 4 or 5 working in the organization.

I went through and counted all the 2 goal games, and weeded out how many of them had empty netters. This is the ratio of 2 goal games/ones that had an empty netter. 2013-14: 9/19 2014-15: 5/13 2015-16: 6/10 (I've updated the 2015-16 stats to be current as of now) The totals for how I got the percentages of 1 goal games above are : 2013-14: 45/93=48.4% 2014-15: 48/89=53.9% 2015-16: 38/66=60.3% Add in the empty netters: 2013-14: 54/93=58.1% 2014-15: 53/89=59.6% 2015-16: 44/66=66.7%
